Brooks Men''s Essential Run Vest

I picked this vest up at a marathon expo for $55. I guess i could have saved a little bit by purchasing it on Amazon. The vest is extreamly well made with high quality zippers, fabric, and sewing craftmanship. The front zippered pockets are large enough to fit your hands into and will easily hold keys, credit card, ID, cash, gels, gloves, or hat. I like the inside small pocket for my MP3 player. The inside packet may be too small for an iphone or other simular size smartphone though. I would say, the size is true to fit. If you wear a large running jacket, buy a large vest. I bought the high viz yellow for those dark morning 40 degree runs in Kentucky. It''s just enough to keep my core warm. I haven''t tried in in the rain yet though. I probably never will. I don''t like to run in the rain. Hope this review helps...

I followed the sizing chart and calculated that I was absolutely a large based on their numbers, even though everything else I wear (when running) is a medium, and the vest is naturally one size too large for me. Ignore the sizing chart, at least if you''re usually a men''s medium.

The vest is otherwise perfect. Even at one size too large I barely notice that it''s there, except that I feel so much warmer on cold days than I otherwise would. The pockets fit just enough, including the interior pocket perfectly sized to the old iPod Nano (v2) that I''ve been using. The discrete loop for your headphone cord, the cinched drawstring to keep the waist from flapping, the secure zippered pockets: everything is smart, helpful, and carefully thought through.

I''ve been doing winter training for a March marathon in a relatively cold and windy part of the country and I have logged literally hundreds of miles wearing this vest. It''s become an incredibly important piece of attire for me. The pockets are great and don''t flap and overall, it provides highly visible weatherproof function. Since getting this vest, I can''t imagine running during cold, windy, and often pitch black mornings without it.

I love this vest! It is extremely comfortable, durable, and most importantly...VISIBLE! It has two nice side pockets and one inside cellphone pocket (although the cellphone pocket seems to have been designed for older, smaller phones. My Driod Razr won''t come close to fitting in it.
