Valeo VCL Competition Classic 6-Inch Lifting Belt

Valeo VCL Competition Classic 6-Inch Lifting BeltI don''t use it for weightlifting anymore, I use it for my bad back and it works great. It really keeps you from over-extending your back, this is not a medical device but it works great for me.

This is a good quality general fitness belt. I find it is difficult to get the belt really tight. (Like a powerlifting belt.) Granted it is NOT a powerlifting belt. The belt is comfortable to wear and easy to cinch and unhook quickly.

If i had to reorder this product... I wouldn''t. I may send it back too. The belt is "O.K".... It doesnt really have any front support for lifting nor does it secure by way of buttons or in a belt like fashion. Also.... They run a little too small.

I have back issues and bought this belt to use as a back support when working around the house and yard. It does make a positive difference. I believe it gives me better lower mid back support then a not as wide 4" back support belt. I have a 38" waist the X-Large fits well leaving ample room for growth..... It has a nice buckle that makes it easy to get the right tightness. Its made well and should last quite awhile. It''s also washable don''t know yet how well it washes.

I use it daily, not only for doing legs but also for benching and

curling and pressing.

ACCUSPLIT AL370 FM Radio Pedometer

ACCUSPLIT AL370 FM Radio PedometerThe pedometer seems to work fine. I find the radio unsatisfactory, however. I also find that it''s too easy to bump a button and make the pedometer talk loudly.

Here are the radio''s flaws:

1) The display on the unit only displays pedometer info (steps/distance/calories/time); it does NOT display radio frequency. Since the radio operates by scanning one button sets the frequency to 88.1 MHz, the other scans up the dial to the next station it finds you have to know when you''ve reached the station you want to listen to, and the only way to do this is by listening. So finding a particular station can be difficult if you don''t know what the station is playing at the moment.

2)The sound quality of the radio is not very good. It is not awful, but I find that occasional words can be hard to make out if I''m listening to the news with background noise around me. And you certainly won''t hear all the nuances of music from this radio.

3) If you walk through an area where there is interference or poor signal for your station, the radio often seems to `go fishing'' for a stronger signal, and sometimes changes to a different, nearby station. When this happens you might have to find your station again, by scanning up the dial from the bottom until you hear the right station.

4) The only volume control on the unit is on the earphone cord. So you can''t replace the included earphones with your favorite headphones unless these also have a volume control.

Finally, the "talking" feature really annoys me. It''s very easy to hit the ''talk'' button unintentionally. When I''m setting the radio, or if the unit gets bumped when clipped to my belt or when stashed in my backpack, it will loudly say "YOU HAVE WALKED 3524 STEPS" or something like that... this will certainly draw attention to you if you''re in class or on the bus when this happens!

This pedometer delivers exactly what it promises. It''s small, lightweight, has a decent radio that hangs on to the station being played, and is remarkably accurate. Love the extra belt clip to prevent dropping and breaking. Have used a lot of small pedometers, with and without radio capability, and like this one the best.

Buy ACCUSPLIT AL370 FM Radio Pedometer Now

This item is the largest disappointment I have ever had from Amazon and does not deserve to be in their warehouse. I bought it as a gift and the person returned it to me because they could not get it to work properly. I also tried to make it work without success. As a pedometer, it would record steps whether you were walking or just sitting, the time setting recorded to its own whims, and the distance would have been great, had it been accurate. It would claim 1200 steps in 5 minutes and claim a distance of 2.7 miles record setting I believe! It is trashed and replaced. I also wrote to the company for support in fixing the problem, but they chose not to respond because they probably know it can''t be done!!

Polar RS300X G1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Orange)

Polar RS300X G1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch with G1 GPS SensorI love this thing! The custom zones are great. Had my zones and VO2 levels tested at the gym and my trainer was able to set the watch to MY zones. This also allows me to see a more accurate calorie count.

A couple notes that didn''t keep me from giving it 5 stars, but just to keep in mind:

1. The orange is MUCH brighter than on my screen. Think, street construction cone orange. It''s much more neon orange.

2. The G1 GPS Sensor is AWESOME on most days. I recently ran with it on a very cloudy/rainy day and it completely lost track of the signal. I haven''t used the footpod, so can''t compare, but I may end up buying it for use on cloudy days.

I''m a beginner athlete when it comes to monitoring heart rate and calories burned... I bought this watch due to design and ease of use. My biggest disappointment stems from the fact that the watch and HR strap stop communicating while I''m exercising... so I lose the HR and the calorie count is off. The signal re-connects at different times but I end up losing part of the workout. I have the strap tight and positioned correctly, and always wet the sensor area prior to using. Not sure if this is a common problem with all monitors, but has been extrememly frustrating for me.

I bought this watch for my wwife. It''s a good watch if you can get over the color. It''s definitely not a fashion statement but it does measure heart rate and distances traveled accurately. The only flaw I have noticed is that it does not display the time of day while in exercise mode. I also use the footpod with this watch and it has been a great tool for the times I run on a treadmill.

I bought the RS300X HR monitor with the GPS sensor for my outdoor runs and I love it. The initial setup was quite simple although there are some features that I just left off such as the HR alarms because as soon as you are outside the HR zone the beeping becomes a distraction. Sometimes I want to be in a specific heart rate zone but for long runs is not always possible.

While running in trails you might actually run longer distances than what the RS300X records because the GPS will approximate the route using the closest readings available. So if you ran a curvy trail under trees cover the unit is going to estimate a straight line between the last reading before entering the covered area and the first reading after leaving the covered area.

This unit supports a single user profile so if you are planning to share it with your spouse or friend you would be required to change the user profile every time. In my case, I share my RS300X with my wife but because we are the same age I just don''t change the profile at all between uses. But I believe this would be a good feature for Polar to implement in the next generation of the RS300X HR monitor particularly for families that want to share the HR among its members.

Finally, it is true that the GPS sensor could go through a set of batteries in a week depending on how often you run and leave the unit working. I have noticed that with a set of new high quality alkaline batteries I can get around 12 to 15 hours of operation.

Want Polar RS300X G1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Orange) Discount?

I''ve only had the watch a couple of weeks and so far so good. I''m a bit of a wimp, so getting the chest strap wet before putting it on is friggin'' cold. I''ve worn it swimming... awesome. Worn it running, the arm band GPS was not distracting or nuisance. Worn it biking on the trainer for heart rates, can''t wait till spring to get out on the roads and track my rides. Love the way you can change the display to show the info in the format that works best for you. I''ve not had any accuracy issues with distance and it hasn''t yet fallen off the grid from lack of connection. Of course, there aren''t many big trees on the mesas in Colorado to mess with it. There is an annoying alarm that goes off if you are above or below your target heart rates, but I can see that as a benefit.... I just need to find out how to turn that off, cuz it drives me crazy. Love the ORANGE color. It''s exciting to put on, and adds excitement to the workouts because I feel like I''m able to really hone in on my goals and know the results of my perceived output. I''m learning so much about my physiology and adding much more purpose and intent to each workout

Brushed Yoga Capri

(5108-BK-X) Brushed Yoga Capri by Fit CoutureHave a daily yoga practice so I need as many yoga pants as I can get. These are my most favorite. Not only are they extremely comfortable they are very flattering too and get softer with each wash and best of all they dry very quickly (I do bikram yoga).

So comfortable, so soft! While they are yoga pants, I primarily use them for spinning and jogging. I couldn''t stop wearing them once I bought them, I need to buy a second pair! I''m glad I splurged on these plants. I was considering cheaper alternatives but these were totally worth it. I especially love the wide waist band -it keeps the pants up, but without jutting into your waist (read: love handles). I love the extra confidence I feel while wearing these pants because they look and feel great; they give me something to look forward to about working out!

Icebreaker Women''s Everyday Long Sleeve Zip Top

Icebreaker Women''s Everyday Long Sleeve Zip TopBecause some of Amazon''s listing descriptions for Icebreaker items have very few details about the products, making it difficult for the customer to make an informed purchasing decision if he/she is unfamiliar with this brand of clothing, below I''ll type some information and personal impressions about Icebreaker clothing.

(Some of Amazon''s Icebreaker listings do provide a lot of useful detail from the manufacturer -such as the product description on the following listing: "Icebreaker Women''s Tech Bodyfit 260 Top".)

Note that my review is quite long and usually only the first half of it is shown on this page. If this happens on your screen and you wish to read the second half, all you have to do is press the "read more" button at the bottom of the review and Amazon will show you the rest of it. :-)

----------------------

OVERALL IMPRESSION

Icebreaker''s marino wool items are generally made well, last a long time, are easy to care for, feel fantastic on the skin, are "natural", don''t get smelly easily like polarfleece does, let the skin breathe, etc.

Many of my Icebreaker items have been worn and washed several hundred times and are still holding up much better than would be expected.

I am a BIG fan of this company''s products. For my overall experience of them from around 2000-2010, I would give them a solid "5 stars"!

However, I regret to say that my opinion of the items I have bought from Icebreaker in 2012 is not as high. In the last 2 weeks (late 2012), I have bought 7 items from them and I decided to return all of them because they aren''t as well-cut as the very "same" items that I bought in the 2000s (which I still have and wear, so I can make like-for-like comparisons easily).

Based solely on my 2012 experience of Icebreaker products, I would give them 3 stars, "it''s ok". For me, this is not good enough to command prices of $50 $100+ for quite simple items, even if the basic wool material itself is outstanding and long-lasting.

For my star-rating on this review, I will average the "5" I give Icebreaker historically and the "3" that I would give Icebreaker in 2012, and give them a "4".

---------------------

MY EXPERIENCE WITH ICEBREAKER

I bought my first Icebreaker clothing about 13 years ago when I needed some long underwear for skiing.

Up until about 6 years ago, I had been buying Icebreaker items very sparingly, due to the eye-watering prices at London UK sporting goods shops . Then, I discovered that Sierratradingpost sells various Icebreaker styles (usually discontinued items from years past) on their site for a discount. Fortunately, for a couple of years after I discovered this, they had a large selection of women''s Icebreaker stuff, so I bought quite a few things for great prices. (These days, Sierra''s Icebreaker selection for women appears to be smaller, and the prices comparatively higher, than before. I expect that there are more discounters they have to compete with now, to get that kind of stock.)

In addition to bricks-and-mortar sports shops and Sierratradingpost, I have also bought Icebreaker items from several sporting goods online retailers, Amazon, and the Icebreaker website.

I still have almost every Icebreaker item I''ve bought. Even the discounted items have been somewhat pricey, but the quality and longevity were worth the initial investment.

In the last two weeks, I have tried to replace a few of my key Icebreaker items but found the fit and cut of the current versions of the same items to be sub-par. I will keep using my old items for another year, and hope that next year''s fit and cut will be better-suited to my body shape.

----------------------

CAVEAT

What I have written below is based on my current knowledge about their products, but it is possible that I have misunderstood some aspects of the brand.

If you wish to better understand their product offerings, I would absolutely recommend that you have a look at the Icebreaker official site to view their entire range and gain more clarity about what items are for what purposes, what the wool weights are about, what the quality levels of the different clothing collections are, etc.

(Unfortunately, their website, while snazzy, does not fully explain these things, leaving it up to the customer to piece some of the puzzle together.)

----------------------

ICEBREAKER WOOL WEIGHTS:

Icebreaker''s marino wool items generally come in four weights of fabric: 150, 200, 260, or 320. This is "grams per square meter".

150 is quite thin.

It provides light warmth.

The material is generally see-through. (I wouldn''t wear items of this weight out and about in public without anything over them, but some reviewers have said that they do.)

It''s good for a first base layer, for strenuous exercise, or for sleeping in.

Their items of this weight, especially in the ranges intended for athletic use, tend to be really form-fitting in one''s typical size.

All Icebreaker material seems VERY resilient and long-lasting to me, but because the 150 wool weight is pretty thin, it is the likeliest to be torn, develop holes, get "runs" (like pantyhose). I don''t think this happens too much with it, but I''ve seen some reviewers mention it (most often talking about how they accidentally poked holes in it with long fingernails), and three of my 150-weight leggings have developed runs in them after several years of heavy use.

200 is slightly thicker, but still on the thin side.

It''s pretty warm.

The lighter colors are definitely see-through, such as grey and cream. My older black and brown items made out of 200 weight wool don''t seem to be see-through, but some of the newer dark-colored ones might be.

It''s good for a base layer or mid-weight layer, for exercise, and sleeping in.

Especially in the ranges intended for athletic situations, their items of this weight tend to be form-fitting in one''s typical size.

260 is on the thicker side.

It''s definitely warm, a cozy weight.

None of my 260 items are see-through. I can wear tops made out of this weight on their own (without anything over them) and not worry that my underwear or too many lumps&bumps will show through.

It''s good for a mid-layer or top-layer, and sleeping in (if you get cold at night, like I do).

Items of this weight tend to fit looser than items of the same size in the 150/200 weights do. This may have something to do with how much naturally-stretchier the thicker fabric is, but it also seems that they cut these 260-weight items bigger because this weight is often worn as a top-layer or middle-layer, instead of as a base-layer.

I like this weight the best. I think that the company says that this is their most popular weight across the board.

320 is thickest, of course.

It is quite warm, very toasty and sturdy.

This weight is generally a top-layer, so items made out of this material are relatively loosely-cut.

--------------------------

ICEBREAKER LINES / RANGES / "COLLECTIONS" OF CLOTHING:

Icebreaker makes different ranges some intended for wearing as normal underwear (like panties and sports bras and tank tops), some intended for wearing as thermal/long underwear, some intended for wearing as everyday clothing, and some intended for wearing as athletic wear.

Even though at first glance most of their items appear VERY similar to each other, there are different feelings to the fabrics (even in fabrics of the same wool weight), different quality levels, different cuts, and different design details amongst these different lines, so it is good to check their website about the particular Icebreaker item you are thinking of buying to make sure that it is intended for the activity you want it for.

Two of the popular ranges at the lower end of the Icebreaker price scale are:

Bodyfit

The Bodyfit range seems to be for athletic situations, but also casual-wear and sleeping-in. The knit of this range''s wool is usually flatter and less stretchy than the knit of the ranges that are for underwear or purely casual wear. Items in this range are usually cut to fit relatively snugly.

Everyday

This range is made of a looser, thicker, stretchier knit than the Bodyfit, and is more for general sleeping-in and casual long-underwear needs, not so much for athletic situations. (However, I''m sure that they would be okay in many athletic situations, and I have worn them skiing and hiking.) Everyday items tend to be made of a stretchier knit and cut to fit more loosely than the Bodyfit items. I wear a size below my ordinary size in this range.

Other ranges

Their other ranges appear to include: Black Sheep Collection, RealFleece Collection, Pure Plus Collection, Journeys Travel Collection, Premium Underwear Collection, GT Technical Sports Collection, GT Bike Collection, Technical Base Layers Collection, and Technical Mid Layers Collection. Please see the Icebreaker site for more information on their ranges.

Frankly, I feel that they''ve made this aspect of their brand over-complicated and too confusing for the average customer, and I have not been able to locate any overview of the various collections on their site or on their product packaging materials.

-----------------------

ICEBREAKER COLORS:

Icebreaker tends to make most items in black, as their basic universal color.

Many items are offered in about 2 to 8 other colors, as well. There is often some version of blue, red, grey, and green sometimes a pink, sometimes a brown or purple, etc. Often the colors are skewed towards the cool end of the spectrum (which I notice because my coloring is on the warm end of the spectrum and cool tones look awful on me).

The different weights of wool and/or different ranges (e.g., Bodyfit, Everyday, Journeys Travel Collection, etc.) will tend to have their own mini-set of color options. (For example, the current grey color in the 200 Bodyfit is a medium-grey and is called "blizzard" and the current grey color in the 260 Bodyfit is a dark-grey and called "metro", and they don''t offer those particular colors in other weights of wool or other ranges, as far as I know.)

They change their colors every year or so (I think), and some colors tend to sell out mid-way through a season and are not restocked, so if you see an item in a color that you love, or there is a matching set (of long underwear or something) and you want both pieces in the same color, you probably should get it at the time, because it''s not guaranteed that it will be available in the future.

---------------------

EXTRA DESIGN FLOURISHES:

A couple of their ranges, mainly the more athletic lines, feature "pops" of contrasting color in a certain part of the garment, such as a stripe running down the sleeves or down the sides, or a triangle of bright material at the ankle. Most internet retailers'' photographs of the garments do show these features because the areas of differing colors are pretty obvious, but it pays to read the item descriptions (and check out the manufacturer''s site for confirmation) if this kind of thing is not what you are looking for.

In a couple of their clothing ranges, mainly the underwear, 150-weight, and casual-wear lines, some of the tops and bottoms have printed patterns (like floral motifs or abstract swirls sometimes in contrasting colors) on the sleeves or in the hip-region. This *can* escape your notice when the only images of the item you have available to you are the tiny product photographs that most internet retailers provide, so do double-check the customer reviews of the item, and maybe the Icebreaker site''s own full description of the item, if you want to know for sure if the item comes with a printed pattern on a section of it.

---------------------

ICEBREAKER SIZING:

Sizing and fit are so variable from person to person and from brand to brand, but in case it may help, I''ll talk about my experiences with Icebreaker clothing.

For reference, generally I am usually a women''s size 4 or 6 in US sizing, a women''s size 8 or 10 in UK sizing, and a small when it comes to small/medium/large sizing. This goes for both tops and bottoms.

---

Sizing of Tops

Almost all of my Icebreaker tops from the last 13 years -crew tops, long-underwear tops, turtlenecks, and zip-up jackets -are women''s size small.

The only tops I have in size extra-small are from the Skin range (which they phased out in 2006, but the sizing and type of material used for the Skin range appear to be very similar to those of the current range called Everyday).

Generally, I know that an Icebreaker small top is probably going to fit me.

The main issue that I''ve had with their tops is sleeve length (too long). This is not uncommon for me, because I do have arms that are on the petite side: most suit jackets I buy have to be shortened a little in the sleeves, and I often have to turn up sweaters one turn at the cuff. And one feature of some Icebreaker tops is a thumb loop which necessitates that the sleeves are meant to be about three inches longer than the wrist I understand this, and just roll those tops up a turn or two. However, I''ve read quite a few reviewers'' comments that mention that Icebreaker sleeves tend to be long, and I do think that their sleeves are longer than normal. ["Normal" being subjective, of course! ...the only women I''ve met from New Zealand actually did happen to be tall, lithe, and willowy, so maybe that''s normal there. :-) ] Last week, I bought a 2012-made Icebreaker "Oasis" top in a size small, and while it was too tight in the chest area (which is normally NOT a problem for me with Icebreaker), the sleeves were a crazy four or five inches past my wrist, even though they didn''t have thumb holes and therefore were meant to end at the wrist. I had to return it.

---

Sizing of Leggings:

I have run into inconsistency in Icebreaker legging sizes. I have some in extra-small, some in small, and some in medium. (And in one 2012 collection, the extra-smalls are a little too big for me but there isn''t a smaller size to go to.)

I have not found Icebreaker''s official sizing chart (available on their site) to be terribly accurate for leggings.

For the leggings, it seems to me that one must experiment in each Icebreaker clothing range and wool weight to discover the best size and fit for oneself.

I will spell out below the ones that I have tried. Because the sizing of the "same" leggings sometimes has varied across the years, I will mention what year I got them.

1. BODYFIT range

1a. Bodyfit 150 leggings

2006 or 2007 Bodyfit 150 leggings

Size medium. The label says "slim fit" (possibly back then they had different "fits" within the Bodyfit range, but they don''t seem to now).

Fit me snugly, but well.

Waistband comes up to the belly button, feels secure.

2008 Bodyfit 150 leggings

Size small.

Are a bit too small for me this winter they fit me when I''m about 5-to-8 pounds less than I am at the moment.

Waistband hits 1 inch below the belly button, feels okay.

2012 Bodyfit 150 leggings

I decided not to buy new 150-weight leggings in 2012 because after a few years of heavy use, my old Bodyfit 150 leggings developed some un-mendable "runs"/"ladders". I still wear them and love them, but they are slowly self-destructing. It is comparatively easy to snag them on a rough surface or to poke a fingernail through them when pulling them on or off.

Actually, I''ve just looked on the Icebreaker site (December 2012) and they don''t list ANY Bodyfit 150 leggings. The only 150 weight leggings they list are the "Sprite" leggings from the Premium Underwear Collection. Also, I think that the "Nature" leggings (which are a discontinued style) were of 150 weight, and I have seen these still on sale on a few websites.

1b. Bodyfit 200 leggings

Current suggested retail price of around eighty (discounted price of around sixty).

2008 Bodyfit 200 leggings

Size medium.

Fit me, and there is extra room in them I probably could go up 5 to 8 pounds and they would still fit. When I purchased those mediums, I tried on the small size and found it to be way too small, especially along the tight and narrow waistband that these leggings were made with at the time. (I think it was a reaction to the consumer response to that waistband that they made the newer waistbands really wide and soft.)

Waistband comes up to the belly button, feels secure.

2012 Bodyfit 200 leggings

At first, based on the Icebreaker official size chart, I ordered a medium in these. They were too big, so I exchanged them for a size small.

The small fit relatively well snug, but acceptably so.

Waistband came up to 2 or even 3 inches below the belly button. This is a more "modern" position for a waistband, of course, compared to coming up to the true waist, but I prefer "athletic" base layers to cover my entire body neck to ankle, to enable the base layer shirts to be securely tucked inside the base layer pants, and to feel really secure when I''m moving around -but this waistband was so low on me, and so wide and stretchy that it felt like it was about to slide down to my hips at any moment because the elastic wasn''t very tight.

Not only from the practical side was this low waistband a problem, but MAN, the whole cut of the upper part of these leggings seemed to be designed to make my tummy area look as flabby and unattractive as possible! I tried my old leggings on when I took these off -just to check that it wasn''t bad lighting or post-Thanksgiving excess weight that was to blame for how these made me look, but my older Icebreaker Bodyfit 200 leggings looked a lot better on me than these leggings did.

I had to return them. I have decided to wait until next year''s production, to see if they alter the cut of the waist area.

1c. Bodyfit 260 leggings

Current suggested retail price of around ninety (discounted price around seventy-five).

2012 Bodyfit 260 leggings

Size small.

Fit relatively well snug, but acceptably so.

Waistband came up to 2 inches below the belly button. They had the same issues as the 2012 Bodyfit 200 leggings did waistband too low, too loose, too wide, and quite unattractive in the belly region!

I also had to return these. I hope next year''s will be cut higher on the waist.

2. EVERYDAY range

2a. Skin 200 leggings (discontinued 2006) the Skin range was probably similar to Everyday.

2005 Skin 200 leggings

Size extra-small, yet are the largest I own I could gain 15 pounds and they would still feel okay. But they fit me nicely when I''m at any weight 10 pounds less or more than my present size they are simply the coziest and softest that I own.

Waistband comes to about 1 inch higher than belly button, feels secure.

2b. Everyday 200 leggings

Current suggested retail price of around sixty (discounted price of around forty-five).

2012 Everyday 200 leggings

Two weeks ago, I bought them in size small which were too big, so I exchanged them for an extra-small. Even the extra-smalls had extra material in places on the legs, which is unusual because my legs are not toothpicks (this kind of legging is not supposed to be baggy, so the cut of these must have been off).

Worse, the upper part of the extra-small leggings was cut strangely the waistband was in a deep V, so that the middle was 3 inches below my belly-button (which is way too low for me), but the sides rose up 3 inches higher than that (it wasn''t a curve, it was a visible V). Yet the waistband elastic wasn''t tight enough, so the tall sides wanted to sag down and bunch up around my hips -strange. (And that was not the way the smalls I tried on the week before had fit my waist area! In fact, I think the smalls of last week fit me better generally than the extra-smalls of this week.) I don''t have the energy to go through the rigamarole of ordering a different pair of extra-smalls, but maybe I just got a bad apple.

I had to return the extra-smalls.

I was very disappointed because they were the 7th Icebreaker product I''ve tried in the last 2 weeks. This Icebreaker shopping quest has taken up a fair bit of my time lately, but I have nothing new to show for it. I''ve given up trying to get anything now and will wait a year and see how their 2013 production fits me.

3. OTHER ranges

Their other legging types are more expensive than the Everyday and Bodyfit, and seem to be geared towards high-tech athletic use, or constructed to be worn on their own as pants/trousers. Some have Lycra in them. Check out Icebreaker''s site for more info.

--------------------------------

OTHER TIPS

The other main retailers of this kind of product sometimes offer free shipping on their Amazon listings of an item but don''t offer free shipping on the exact same item when sold through their own site (even when the price of the item itself is the same on both sites), so it can save you money if you pay attention to that.

The best selection BY FAR is available from the manufacturer''s site, but the prices there are generally higher. However, they have discounts from time to time, such as their "Black Friday" sale when they offer 30% all items that are black in color.

Amazon sometimes calls the Icebreaker Bodyfit range "BF" and sometimes "Bodyfit", so if you are searching here for Icebreaker''s Bodyfit range, do a separate search under each of the two search terms to get the most accurate results.

In terms of merino wool socks, I prefer Smartwool socks over Icebreaker''s. Sierratradingpost is one retailer which often carries a large selection of them at good prices. Those socks last a really long time. I wear them almost year-round because the lightweight ones breathe really well even when it''s warm out.

The Smartwool women''s small size is the only sock I can find that truly fits my feet (which aren''t even that small, all things considered!) without bunching up inside my shoes.

If you have a smaller foot (size 7 or less) and are female, note that the Smartwool unisex socks in the small size are bigger than the smalls made just for women, even though that company''s size guide says that they both are meant to fit the same range of women''s shoe sizes.

Bodylastics 11 pcs Resistance Bands *BASIC TENSION Set (58 lbs.)

Bodylastics 11 pcs Resistance Bands *BASIC TENSION Set with 4 anti-snap exercise tubes, Heavy Duty components, carrying case, DVD and FREE 3 month membership to LIVEEXERCISE websiteI recently ordered the Bodylastics 11 pc. Basic Tension Stackable System, and I was pleased to receive the packet containing my order within 48 hours. I have no doubt that these are quality materials that will be more than adequate for my needs. However, there was one problem with the materials received. The enclosed DVD is supposed to contain two useful products: (1) some brief (approx. 12 mins. total), but helpful, videos providing tips about how to safely & effectively use the various pieces of equipment; and (2) a PDF file of the 76 page instruction manual that includes pictures and explanations of 127 exercises and suggested exercise plans.

The Instruction Manual WAS NOT INCLUDED on the DVD I was sent, although the printed image on the DVD clearly indicates that it should be there. Via Amazon support services, I was advised that I could return the entire order for a refund; or contact the manufacturer for assistance and was given an 800 #.

The 800 # is no longer functional. Bodylastics no longer provides a toll-free #. You must call 561-998-4499 for any customer assistance. I was able to have a PDF document of the Instuction Manual sent to me via email within minutes, which I appreciated. However, I''m disappointed that the customer service representative indicated that this is a problem of which the company is, and has been, aware. I would hope that they either replace the defective DVDs on future orders, or adjust their product description to reflect the deficiency and provide a direct means of acquiring the manual without having to "go hunting" for it.

I ordered two of these kits and m wife and I use them almost every day. I have been telling people them and how pleased we are with them. I have lost two inches off my waist and am wearing clothes I thought I would have to give away. I do have one complaint--no printed instruction booklet--you have to pay an additional $15 for the book! Yes, there is a PDF version on an included CD but it is a PITA to try and use it. Your video are great but not made for the average person who is trying to get back in shape. You need to develop programs that will help beginners so they can slowly tone up. I would have given you a much better rating except for these things.

Love Bodylastics, have been using them for about 6 months now and love how they give me the workout of free weights but require little space to store and are much cheaper than free weights. Would recommend them to anyone who wants a weight training workout at home. Just make sure you have a door with some space around it to workout. Plus the access to the online workouts is great. I''ve bought 2 different sets and feel like I have a whole gym in my home. The best thing is that it has cost me less than 2 months membership in a Tokyo gym.

My wife has owned the original version of the Bodylastics bands. I am working in Saudi Arabia right now and had her send them to me. The original set has plastic clips and low end handles. At the time we bought these they were the newest thing on the market. Well, I had broken three clips on the bands and was going to buy a new set of Bodylastics bands. I emailed my wife and she wanted me to use the lifetime warranty and just replace the broken bands. No problem, less than $6 each to replace the bands and I would receive the new models. I contacted customer support and they took awesome care of me.

I would just like to hit on a few points;

The new bands are amazing; metal carabiner/clip system that keeps the strap in the small end of the clip which prevents it from being separated from the carabiner.

The handles are thick, doesn''t feel like your are gripping a pencil in your hand and not overly large for smaller hands. Larger handed folks will not crush the foam cushioned plastic handle. The ring on these handles was unexpected! I got the four band set, and it is large enough to add many bands without being awkward. I will be getting more bands to add on.

The only thing that knocked off a star was that there is no manual with visual exercises. The CD that is provided is great, contains five very good workouts and a digital copy of the User Manual. I don''t always workout close to a computer so a something written would be cool. Oooh, maybe an android app?

Purchased this product to carry with me to the gym and to use around my home for TapouT XT. The bands feel very secure and do not take away from the workout at all despite the clips at the ends. The inner cord is a very slight issue and not one that I complain about actually. When setting up for certain exercises the inner cord will reach its full length and stop. The simple fix (which is why I don''t complain) is make a quick adjustment so that the tension on both sides is about the same.

This is very important so you don''t end up with one side being worked harder than the other and I don''t complain because it seems to correct some of my form issues at the same time. As I said before I do use these bands at the gym as well for PT and I have to say that the bag that comes with the bands is the perfect companion. I purchased an extra clip to attach the bag to my backpack and I couldn''t be happier. I have yet to use the included DVD because I purchased the product for a specific workout so I cannot mention anything regarding it in this review. Overall excellent product.

Bosu 3D System Balance Trainer

Bosu 3D System Balance TrainerI have been kind of sick of my treadmill/free weight workouts so I decided to look for something new that was not expensive, quick and maybe even fun...ish!

So I found this Bosu trainer. I just finished the first workout and it was incredible...really good for working on balance, but you can hold on throughout! It works your core muscles without you having to do any crunches, situps or other ungodly manoever...I mean, I can feel my abs right now, but not in a bad way...just in a way that lets me know I exercised them. This thing does cardio, strength and you can also stretch on it...the DVD that''s included shows you how. For $114, I think this gives a lot of bang for the buck...and it feels very sturdy. Although it comes with a cheap pump, I had a bicycle pump that I blew it up with. So, for what it''s worth, I would highly recommend this.

We''ve looked at several of these models for awhile and finally settled on buying the Bosu 3D System Balance Trainer. Weighing in at 33lbs its more bulky then heavy. One thing for certain, its not going to be moved around a lot. After going through and deciphering the enclosed instruction manual, I felt a sigh of relief in knowing that my inventory of parts and hardware was complete. That said, I began the assembly process.

The first thing I noticed was that some of the screw holes located under the base were covered and could not be lined properly with the platform. I discovered that the rubber plates (used for vibration and weight distribution) were the culprit. No worries, I used a flathead screwdriver to pry the glue mounted plates and realigned them with the holes. I added just a dab of shop glue for extra measure. I did not run into any other problems with alignment. Total assembly time was about 20 minutes.

It goes without saying the included pump is worthless. I saved the valve head and tossed the rest of the unit. I used my portable compressor to inflate the ball. At 39" x 29" x 49" it does take up some real estate. We decided to place the Bosu Trainer in the corner of the garage in front of the tv/dvd player.

Once in place, the system works like a charm with no issues. Even the ball seems to hold up well and does not have to be filled as often. The ball is gym quality and should last a long time. The balance bar is steady and fully adjustable. The resistance trainer is mounted with comfortable hand grips and above average tubing.

For those new to Bosu, its not rocket science. Primarily it covers the basics for strengthening up and using targeted core muscle groups. The enclosed dvd offers a good basic workout program. The owners manual is packed with various work out programs, training tips, progression charts and of course, the assembly instructions. A separate nutrition and menu planning booklet is also enclosed with this system.

Even with its manufacturing issues, the quality of this particular model is above average. We are pleased with this unit and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a change up without gym membership fees. Its a low cost alternative to better health.

The Bosu Ball is a great training aid for developing balance and core strength. The addition of the base and support makes it much easier for someone without great balance to get started on the ball. I would happily have given it five stars if I hadn''t had to drill and file out the holes on the support brackets to make it fit. If my wife had wanted to put this together herself she could not have done so and would have had to sent it back.

The problem is in the location of the welded brackets. I understand the difficulty of doing the weld precisely, but clearly the manufacturer needs to improve their procedure. Until they do, I would not recommend anyone who is not prepared to do some non-trivial hole enlarging to buy the item as it must be just a matter of luck whether you get one that fits or one that doesn''t.

It''s a great package. Assembly wasn''t hard at all, and there are a lot of workout DVDs included. It''s surprising how intense the workout is I did the first cardio workout today and my heart was pounding after 15 minutes (in a good way). Perfect for anyone who wants to work out but isn''t a fan of gyms, especially in the winter when it''s no fun to jog or bike outside.

One drawback it''s not all that easy to store. I had hoped the 3D system would fold down or something similar to store away quickly, but that''s not the case. You can take off the top handles easily, but you''d still need a relatively large space to store the entire thing in. So, you may end up just leaving it fully assembled wherever you put it together. It''s not an eyesore exactly, but it''d be nice to have it disassemble a bit so it could fit under a bed or in a small space.

Overall, though, it''s a very good product and I think I''ll get more than my money''s worth out of it in exercise.

This Bosu in itself was used by my physical therapist because I needed help in regaining balance control. My walking was off balance due to a fall I had as well as a birth defect. She introduced me to this aparatus whic at first I was not confident that I could get on it and make it work with me. My PT then showed me how with er assistance. Pretty soon,I was on there and balancing myself just standing and quickly learned to balance myself without the support and spotting from my PT! I decided it would be a great way to practice at home and have a way to get exercise, too! After a few nights of web searching, I found this awesome deal with Amazon. It was to great of a deal to pass up! You will not find a better deal anywhere than Amazon for the Bosu 3 D System!

Rubberbanditz 41 inch Continuous Loop Powerlifting Band Sizes

Rubberbanditz Powerlifting Band - Robust - 40 - 80 lbs. Resistancewish I would have bought several sizes at once and now I need to order more, great stretching tools too !!

I like it, and stronger tension than this would be too much for me at 150 lbs. This is easy to keep in a gym bag and works even at a computer desk to limber when you get ten minutes. Great idea.

Drape the band over the chin-up bar, pull one end through the other to secure. Pull the hanging end down and insert a bent knee, grab the bar, and you''re good to go. Great for helping you maintain form as you work on increasing reps. A CD (DVD?) came with the band, but I haven''t looked at it yet. If I had to do it over, I probably would have chosen the slightly heavier 30-50lb band, since the 20-35lb band is pretty light and provides minimal assistance.

Icebreaker Unisex Adult Glove Liner Handwear

Icebreaker Unisex Adult Glove Liner HandwearThese are good quality gloves and you pay the price for them. However, even though they have lasted longer than any other thin liner glove I have tried in the past, they began to show wear holes in the fingertips after one full winter season of use. I expected it to last longer considering it costs twice as much as competing brands.

Love these thin, warm up my gloves, and can wash them easily. No itch at all, and often wear them solo on warmer days.

The don''t last for more than a season (everyday use)but then again I really don''t expect them too. Well made and solid construction.

They fit, well... Like a glove!

I use this glove liners as gloves because I can still use my cell phone with them on. I tried other brands, frankly because they were much cheaper than these liners, but after a few weeks the other brand developed holes. The Icebreaker liners will last an entire season of daily use.

Didn''t buy them here and these are my second pair because I thought the first pair may not be typical but it''s been confirmed... the stitching on these things will have you irritated within 2-3 months. Does a decent job of doing what it claims to do but it doesn''t matter when there''s a big hole in the glove. Expensive and disposable.

The width is fine based in the recommended measurements, but the fingers are short. They are warm, and the weight is good, not too thick so they work well as a liner. If you have longer fingers, or skinny narrow hands, definitely go a size up.

I typed all that wearing them, so they are tactile enough for most basic tasks. A nice light weight spring glove, or for it''s stated use as a glove liner.

Weider Push Up Stands

Weider Push Up StandsThe good thing about these Weider push-up stands is the angled bar, which feels better doing regular push-ups than a straight bar. This is also very helpful if you are doing easy push-ups on your knees.

Unfortunately, they are only fair quality, and don''t seem very durable. While the bars are steel tubing, the bases are actually just hollow black and gray plastic shells. If you weigh over two hundred pounds, I think the bases might crack after a while, especially where the ends of the steel tubes press into the plastic. The bases are also smooth on the bottom with no gripping surface, so the hard plastic surface will slide on a smooth floor. They are O.K. on carpeting or a gym mat.

The foam pads on the steel tubes are not dense, so they don''t give much cushioning for your hands. It helps to use padded weightlifting gloves.

The problem is that the stands I got didn''t fit together properly because of design and quality control problems.

The stands had deep grinding marks inside the holes in two of the bases, where the manufacturer apparently tried to correct moulding problems in the plastic. I initially thought that the stands had been used, but the replacement set I received was just like the first.

To assemble the stands, you need to push the ends of the steel bars into the plastic bases and secure them with threaded T-screws that thread into the bars. However none of the holes lined up properly on mine, so the shoulders of the T-screws wouldn''t fit into the holes in the bases. I was eventually able to get the second set of stands put together by filing down the ends of the bars slightly. You also need to use some grease on the bars to get them to slide in or they shear off the plastic gripping ribs moulded inside the holes.

All this may have just have been quality control problems in one lot, so you can take a chance if the price is low and you just want some light duty stands.

Dont buy these. They are garbage!!! They have nothing on the bases to keep them from sliding!!! The grey plastice you see on the bases falls off constantly. VERY LOW QUALITY PRODUCT!!!

If you are looking for the cheapest efficient pushup bars, then you have considered the right ones. These pushup bars can handle 300 lbs, which is what i started out at in january 2012. I''ve since then lost weight, I am at 220, and these pushup bars are still going strong since January. I use them with p90x, and they have yet to let me down. Only reason it gets a 4 star rating is that it slides on hard floors, they have plastic bases, and they aren''t that aesthetically pleasing. Monday is chest and back again, and these bars will still hold up when I use them then. If they break I will revise my review, but I don''t see that happening anytime soon.

I purchased these (actually got the wrong item) after getting wrist problems doing regular push-ups. Overall, i''d say these are pretty good. I like the angle to the bar also and a few weeks of these and my wrists feel good even on the floor again. The construction is overall good with the steel tube and the plastic is adequate. The only drawback is the base is slippy. I tried these on a wooden floor and almost ate wood. They work fine with a yoga/exercise mat or carpet under them

I purchased these as my first set of push up bars. I have wrist issues and was unable to do push ups using the ground as the base. I have to say I am highly satisfied with the product. I only use them on carpeting so I can''t comment about hardwood floors but I used them for P90X and they worked flawlessly. True, it took a little to put them together but they haven''t failed me yet and I''ve used them (on average every other day) for the last 3-4 months. They were $8.00 when I purchased them and I am still happy with money spent. To compare, I am only about 145 lbs so I also cannot comment about their durability in the 200lb range.

Body Up Women''s Mesh Trim Workout Top

Body Up Women''s Mesh Trim Workout Top,Black/Pink,SmallI received my item on time and looks just like in the photo. The top is very soft and pretty, but doesn''t have a lot of support. I have smaller breasts so it ain''t that big a deal, I like it pretty well overall though. UPDATE 12/10/2012: After washing this bra some of the seams have come out resulting in a few holes along the bottom lining, probably will have to either sew it up or dispose of it after washing it a few more times.

I think that this sauna suit is an excellent value. It is very affordable and is nicer than those sold by Target and Wal-Mart, plus it''s cheaper. I haven''t had it too long yet but it seems to be well-constructed. With proper care, I expect it to last for some time. It holds the sweat in quite well and the reflectors are an added bonus. The picture shows a pocket on the sauna suit. That was a terrific idea for carrying apartment key cards or locker keys from the gym. When my suit arrived, I did not check for the pocket until I was already in the pants and in the sauna. I debated whether or not to put the suit back in the box and return, yet I wanted to complete my workout for the day. Why didn''t the product have a pocket as shown in the picture? A line in the descrption should notify buyers that there is no pocket.

X-Pole Dance Pole 45mm set SPORT MODEL

X-Pole Dance Pole 45mm set SPORT MODELBefore you buy, be aware this is NOT a spinning pole. It is a stationary pole. I did not know this when I purchased it (it''s not really mentioned here), so it was rather expensive to swap out for the pole I actually wanted (due to shipping).

In good news, X-pole makes good poles. The design is sturdy, does not take a large amount of space, and is fairly easy to put together. You might need a little help lifting it up in the end, just to be safe, but otherwise, any lady could assemble this easily. It took me about half an hour.

In bad news, this surface is Extremely Slippery. Even with "Mighty Grip" or "Dry Hands", you tend to slide off after a short amount of climbing/doing tricks.

Stationary vs Spinning:

If you are an awesome gymnast, capable of untold feats on the pole, or if you don''t mind looking completely stupid, stationary is fine. What do I mean? Well, with a spinning pole, even simple things most people can do look pretty neat, just because you are spinning at the same time. It''s a pleasant distraction that tricks your audience (even if the audience is just you or some girlfriends) into thinking "wow, that looks neat". On the other hand, when the pole does not spin, everything looks a little less glamorous and interesting, so unless you can bust out some crazy moves and have the flexibility of saltwater taffy, you just won''t look good. Trust me. We had a party, and none of my friends felt great about how things went, and half of us are either dancers or gymnasts. Moral of the story: if you are going to spend money on a good pole, like an X-Pole, go ahead and get a spinning one; otherwise, just get one of those crappy cheap ones.

I recommend the Xpert 50 mm Titanium Gold. It spins and has a slightly less slippery surface, and the thicker pole (as opposed to 45mm) makes it easier to grip with your legs, so you can do more climbs and hang on with your body. It''s $100 more, but well worth it,

More good news: Microfiber Products Online has EXCELLENT customer service. Great communication, solid sales team! Buy with confidence!

Precor S3.23 Functional Trainer and Bench Combo

Precor S3.23 Functional Trainer and Bench ComboI bought this system to help recover after a serious accident left me with decreased strength and range of motion in my arms. It does that and much more.

One thing that sold me on the unit was its size. Be sure to check the room you want to put it in, because it is tall. Other than that, it''s compact and stays out of the way. It''s easy to move the weights so that more than one person can use them or for different focus.

This is a great system for me. I''m very happy with it.

Bought it off amazon. Was delivered to the driveway and with just two of us we were able to get it in the house and setup.

Had some balancing issues and was finally able to get a person from Precor on the line. They gave me some good tips on how to fix this, seems to be working after a few tweaks.

The machine is amazing! As is my Precor Stretch Trainer and Elliptical.

I have bought one. It is completly useful for my wife. It is perfect tool for a woman.

For a man you should buy the optionnal bench and the accessory kit that comes with a long Bar, an Ankle strap and a short bar. I have the bench but without the Long Bar I don''t see what it would be use for.

Each stack is 160 pounds but this is divided by 2. So you get 80 pounds per pulley for a total of 160 pounds on the Bar. 160 pounds is not enough for someone who do muscle seriously. One could may be replace the twenty 5 pounds plates with 10 pounds plates (This is called the S3.13 Heavy Stack option) which would add 25 pounds on each pulley for a total of 210 pounds.

Taebo Flex Express - Billy BanksThis is actually my third copy of this DVD, as I tend to wear it out. For those who are looking for a light workout in the morning, to get your circulation going before that first cup of coffee, this is perfect for you. This is short, non-taxing, but it will get the circulation going.

SPRI Resistance Tube and Band Pack

SPRI Resistance Tube and Band PackThis is a good product, I''m happy with the workout it''s given me, but for users new to the world of resistance training, more care should be taken to insure a successful experience. As a regular gym goer I was pleased (and surprised!) at how well the bands imitated an actual gym machine. HOWEVER, I have to agree with the previous review about the vague instructions, especially in a kit aimed at beginner level. I had to go back and re-read a couple of times when setting up the door adapter, and depended on the packaging photos to get it right. (the "plugged" end of the door adapter by the way, is the one without the loop for the tube. I thought they meant a plug to put over the door hinge). The only explanation of the bands and exercises they are used for is on the packaging-which I almost threw away. Since the instructions say to perform only the limited number of exercises provided, it would be helpful, and a lot safer, if they were separated by skill level, with advanced ones illustrated more clearly.

I love how these things work. Gives me a great work out. The only thing that I would improve upon is the fact that you have to guess, by trying them out, which band or tube is what resistance. No way to know otherwise. Good product. Poor information.

I bought these bands for my 70 year old mother as a gift. The enclosed instructions were not helpful for her, but I was able to show her various ways to use the bands. She was quite excited about the program and even recruited some of her friends to try them out. However, after two months the green band developed a whole at the base of the handle. Since this whole was clearly due to a manufacturing defect, we contacted SPRI. They refused to help us at first, but after multiple attempts a manager agreed to send us a replacement band. That was over three months ago, and we are still waiting. We actually called back several more times during that interval to enquire and were never again able to talk to the manager who had agreed to send us the replacement, despite the fact that we had her name and requested her each time we called. In short, I do not fault SPRI because the band had a manufacturing defect that led to a tear, but I can not recommend purchasing from this company because they do not stand behind their products and their customer service is terrible.

Me and my husband practically fight for these resistance bands. We work out at this HIP gym in Downtown chicago, and our MSC class uses the same bands. The green is good for starters but the red gives the most intense work out and the blue will definitely lead to a sore body.

For women, green and red band is a must and if you train regularly and lift heavy weights the blue can be an option.
