I use this treadmill to run a few days per week. When I purchased this item, I gave up my gym membership and so far have no regrets.
It is sturdy, has speakers for a music player, and 1-button speed and incline control. Very easy to use, and comfortable to run on. The motor seems to be more than adequate, and has so far stood up to multiple runners of varying weights and sizes.
Only cons are that it came damaged (not enough to return) and that it was cumbersome to assemble, but well worth it in the end.
HIGHLY recommended for a treadmill under $500. I took a gamble on this, not being able to try it in person, but it far surpasses the performance of similarly-priced treadmills I found at the big box stores, including other Icon/Nordictrack/ProForm products.First of all, delivery was amazing. They brought it in and placed the box in the room where we wanted the treadmill so we assembled it in place. Assembly took a bit longer than two hours with two of us working together. I have been using it for about six weeks and so far, so good. I weigh 165lbs and it''s stable for walking and light jogging. I tried using some of the programs but didn''t like the way the speed changes automatically from time to time so I change speed and incline manually throughout the workout. I love being able to plug my ipod in and have the music come through the speakers on the treadmill. One thing that doesn''t work very well on the treadmill is the heart rate monitor. It''s very erratic and it''s hard to tell which pulse rate is the right one as the numbers keep changing. The display screen is small but easy to read. It tracks your progress in time, miles and number of laps. This is my first experience with a treadmill at home. It certainly doesn''t have all the features of the treadmills at the gym but I love the convenience of having it at home and am happy with this purchase.
