Onto the UFC speedrope. I was skeptical at first thinking it would be some cheap jumprope with a UFC branding slapped on it but was pleasantly surprised. I''ve used it roughly 6 times so far as warm ups to my workouts. The weight of the handles can take some getting used to. Going from an everlast to this requires an adjustment period before you are able to trick out with double unders. The weight, as well as the actual cord is adjustable, but I haven''t modified it yet because i want to get my bearings first before changing anything. The handles are nice and comfortable. They fit great in the palms and there is a little indent for your thumbs. It''s made mostly of hard plastic but has these red rubber like linings the prevents them from slipping out of your hands.
The actual cord seems to be a standard black nylon (?) cord that is thinner then most other ropes, but this rope also has a thicker coating of clear plastic over that which seems very durable. I haven''t noticed any damage to the cord thus far so I figure it will last as long as the others with consistant use (most likely 3-6 months). Speedropes break, it''s annoying, it''s life. Get used to it. I''m expecting to have to buy another one of these by the end of the year.
All in all, i can tell it is worth the 15 bucks. Hope this helps you.I recently broke my favorite speedrope, so needless to say I was in the market for a new one, but I didn''t really know what I was looking for. The broken was was my father''s and there were no markings on it to tell the manufacturer, so I decided to try a different better one.
I bought three.
One was a cheap 9'' rope by Rival. It is far too long for me (I am 6'' tall) and it feels cheap. I also bought an 8'' ball bearing rope because it was only $10 and it was a cool color. That rope is very light and rather fun to use for a time. But because this UFC rope arrived in the mail before that rope, I always come back to it. It is very easy to adjust and is now the perfect length for my height. The rope is very very fast. The handles have a good weight to them and the grips are very ergonomic. For twice the price of the ball bearing rope, the UFC rope is infinitely many times greater than that rope, and even better than the one I had sought to replace. I love this rope.

I got this rope yesterday (6-1-12) and decided to try it out this morning. I haven''t Jumped rope in years and forgot how great of a workout it was.The Handles were very comfortable. The Rope weight was just right. It didn''t take much to get the rope going and keep it going. It didn''t tangle on me at all during my 20 minute workout.
I went to our local stadium to use my rope because they have a very nice track that is made of asphalt and rubber pieces. Very soft , low impact and easy on the feet. After I was finished I checked the abrasions on the rope and found it was very very minimal so I will be using my rope at the stadium.
I''m a 5''6" dude that weighs 145 Lbs. I find that I needed to shorten the rope a bit because it forced me to stick my hands way out to the side. While this is nice because it works the arms heavily it just feels uncomfortable. I''ll be taking about 4"8" from the rope and it should be perfect for me.
I''m Totally pleased with this product so far. I will add an update if anything goes wrong with the rope but from what I see so far, I probably won''t.

I''be been using this for about a month now the weight surprised me at first but easily adaptable and I don''t notice it any more. The cord is the only problem when it arrived it was tightly bound together and has never lost the "kinks" in the line. Its only an annoyance when I start to jump once I start going fast enough it seems to smooth out until I slow down or stop but those are the times it catches my feet!Want UFC Weighted Jump Rope Discount?
This is a really good rope & especially for a noob like me. The quality seems very heavy duty...It has some weird chemicals on it when you open so I suggest you wipe it really good.
