Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Recumbent Bike

Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Recumbent BikeWhen I was deciding on a recumbent bike, it came down to this one and the Mary Recumbent Mag Cycle. I chose this one because it had a pulse reader on it. The only thing that I do not like about this bike is that when "scanning" between the time, distance, pace, total, and calories... it doesn''t go to pulse. You have to press "Mode" and then it starts to calculate your pulse. No matter if your fingers are already on the pulse, it will still start from 72 and take a minute or so to calculate.

Other than that, my husband and I have had great work outs on the machine. The tension knob is not numbered, but it tells you to twist left if you want less tension, and twist right if you want more. This is not calculated into your calories burned, which is another downside. However, I know the amount of tension I am comfortable with and as long as I get my hour in every day around a certain pace, I feel great about my work out.

It is definitely worth the great price!

We bought this bike (our second) for a small+light workout bike to place in front of the TV. I have to say that I am terribly disappointed with it.

For starters, it is a tiny bike. The seat is probably just 14-16 inches off the ground. Which means that even a medium-height person will find it difficult to sit on the bike without getting their knees jammed into the front console. Next, is the feel. It feels light and flimsy in general. While i would not expect a cheap bike like this to feel sturdier, this feels especially light.

But my biggest gripe is about the tension adjustment. It is NON-existent. When we set up the bike, there was no tension, even at the maximum level, so, we opened up the bike and readjusted everything (really, just a wire that goes into the console). While the tension went up marginally, it could not be adjusted at different levels. This results in a very very dissatisfying ''workout,'' if you can call it that. More like sitting and waving your legs.

This is the kind of bike you should never buy. Not on a budget, not because you need a small bike etc. In my opinion, something like the Marcy Recumbent Magnetic Cycle is probably much better, although just a few dollars more. I have that and am very pleased with it so far.

This bike, on the other hand, is just a big mistake that is now just sitting in my family room, annoying me.

Very easy to assemble, wonderful performance, comfortable seat, easy to use, and quality of the material.

I love using it in the morning (not evening, because I noticed it''s hard for me to fall asleep after the exercise). It''s very good for the knees.

This bike is adjustable you can control the tension and adjust the bike size to your height (make the bike shorter of longer). And, it''s not huge, you can keep it in any room it doesn''t take much space.

I''d recommend this bike to everyone! The big advantage is you can use it any time, in any weather, unlike the regular bicycles (I don''t mean it''s better, but more convenient for people who don''t spend much time outdoors).

Not too hard to assemble. Good for shorter people. I''m 5''1" and don''t have it adjusted all the way forward. Not sure how it would be for taller folks. The tension does not tighten very much. I may check my assembly to see if something isn''t quite right.
