I got these to replace old rubber cords which had begun to flake. These are so much nicer! The fabric cover really makes a difference to the comfort of them moving over your skin during some exercises. The handles are set at an angle and I noticed quickly that if you assign a left and right side, it makes them much easier to handle.

Only complaint is that the resistance is a little bit light, I guess I should have bought the heaviest version instead of the med/heavy.

These are pretty much everything you expect them to be. I purchased them for P90X like so many of the customers, but I had an issue that I didn''t see in the other reviews: the limited movement. I, like many of you, bought these in response to my fear of a heavy-resistance cord snapping, and neatly bisecting me into two out-of-shape pieces. So, the sheath around the band provides a great deal of reassurance that I''ll remain one intact person by the end of my workout. The sheaths, however, don''t have enough "slack". I constantly found myself not being able to complete say, a curl, because the sheathing would prevent me from stretching the band further. The sheathing is inflexible, so if you''ve pinched it with your foot, you have to constantly readjust in order to be able to have a full range of motion. So it''s a trade off: work out properly and risk facing that fateful day of the snap heard round the world, or work out safely but half-assed.
