Amy Bento''s Hi/Lo Xtreme DVD

Amy Bento''s Hi/Lo Xtreme DVDFirst off, I should mention that I''m a Cardio Klutz. I''ve never liked a Hi/Lo workout because it''s always hard for me to get the moves down. Not this time! I think Amy''s cuing is spot on. I agree that some of the moves take up a lot of space, but I''m able to modify in the small are I have without sacrificing a good workout.

For those who don''t have a lot of time, Amy includes options that allow you to make the workout shorter. If you want to add weight work, she also includes options from her All Pump Xtreme workout. This workout is very versatile and is a good value for all you get.

Admittedly, my workout videos are stale and dated, but Amy Bento''s Hi/Lo is something else!

A friend who shares a similar exercise regime recommended this DVD. We figure 30-60 minutes per day 4-5 times per week keeps the heart pumping and muscles limber. We grew up playing the same sports and neither of us have any sort of dance background. We chuckle at ourselves trying to perform some of the moves (I''m still confused as to what is a ''chasse''. My only reference is that I''ve heard the term used on Dancing With the Stars.)

Regardless of our dance knowledge, what we don''t know, we make up.

So far, I''ve only been able to get my rear-end kicked on the first NRG: the shortest composition of Intervals and Combinations. The good news is that this DVD should last me a number of years to work up to the hardest challenge.

As a 38 yr-old mother of two small children, the jumping and jogging are difficult to maintain. Thank goodness for ''Pause'' on the DVD. Although it''s important to stay hydrated, avoid fluids at least an hour before you begin (if you know what I mean.)

This is a great workout video, through and through. It''s definitely something to own in your exercise repertoire.

This is a wonderful cardio workout! No equipment is necessary just a lot of room and a lot of oxygen. I had to do this a few times to really get the moves down and see where she was going with some of the moves, but the more I do this, the more fun factor it has for me. It does seem long, but when you get to the stretch you feel so proud of yourself and you KNOW you burned a TON of calories. This is not a short workout and it is not for beginners. Some of the moves can take a while to catch on, but if you stick with it, you''ll learn the routine in no time. This is my only Amy workout, but I really get the feel that she is a good instructor and knows her stuff.

I returned this video after watching it one time. You need a lot, and I mean a lot of space to move around in to do all the moves. I thought the movements were frantic and poorly cued. The language used for various moves was not standard for workouts although perhaps for a dance crowd. Also, by the middle of the tape I had not yet broken a sweat, and I am not in that great of shape. I just didn''t think it was getting my heart rate in an aerobic zone.

I am an advanced workout person and I found this video to be really hard to follow due to the lack of cueing and fast pace. A large area is needed to do this workout so if you do not have a big space do not waste your money on this video. If you like really dancey workout videos this could work for you it did not for me.
