This mat is excellent for a pilates workout. It only weighs 5 pounds and I carry it to the local junior college for class. It provides a lot of cushion on a hard floor.I have hardwood floors and this mat is amazing for exercise! I can balance on elbows or knees with no discomfort. I like that it doesn''t smell funky like synthetic mats can. It is nice and long so that I can lay on it and be entirely on the mat (I am 5''7" tall). I wish it was about 6 inches wider, but that is a small thing. As a side note, spoken from experience, I wouldn''t recommend squashing it into something--I just moved internationally and my mover stuffed the rolled up mat in a box at an angle in sort of a bent position. It sat that way for 8 weeks and now it is sort of ripply and out of shape in places and it doesn''t appear to be self-correcting. It is totally asthetic and definitely not a fault of the product, but I just thought I would mention it. Normal use (rolled up) will be absolutely fine. Also, it doesn''t come with a band or anything to keep it rolled up, so you will need to acquire that separately if it is something you need.

I bought this mat to do yoga at home and absolutely love it. It is thick and comfortable and doesn''t slip. Pricey but worth the luxury.Read Best Reviews of Airex Coronella Exercise Mat - 72in x 23in Here
I own three different sizes of Airex mats. I use them for yoga, pilates even some for practicing a few forward and backward rolls. Whether I''m working over a wood, vinyl or cement floor, these mats always give my body enough cushioning especially my knees. They clean off easily and don''t have that strong plastic-vinyl-latex smell that other mats sometimes have. And the ridged surface gives it a good grip no matter what kind of exercise you''re doing. I''ve even used it as a sleeping mat in my van. Highly recommended!
