Do not buy this chin up bar! The materials are so cheap that they can''t even hold a full-grown man. The instruction booklet said it''s rated for up to 300 lb, but parts started to bend when I used it and I only weigh 190 lb. First, the 2 J brackets that hold the chin up bar on the wall bent at a 45 degree angle so that the chin up bar was also hanging at 45 degrees. So I made my own brackets out of heavier steel, which solved that problem. But then a new problem came up. The 2 screws in the top cross bar that sits in the J brackets bent and started to strip right out. I ordered this directly through Beachbody and I am going to demand my money back. Someone could get injured if this thing breaks while their hanging from it.

It''s not awful, but it is quite large so better for bigger doorways. Says it is supposed hang from the doorframe but they give you 2 screw brackets for this which is what I assume you are supposed to use. I put it up in my doorframe, but I didn''t trust it to hold my weight and I''m about 195. This is probably more attributed to the door frame than the product. Not good for small doorframes or doorframes you aren''t ok with messing up. Other than that it does what it says.

sold on this model solely b/c of lat pull-up grips. slightly pricey @ 52.99; and the curved bar piece that goes behind the bar was assembled w/ grip and tube cap in wrong place; able to fix @ home. rubber grips that push against door frame are wearing thin on one side, ripped on the other, after 3 wks. i weigh 160 so it''s not from misuse or abuse. know and measure door frame before buying, less than 5 inches from top of frame to top of bar! bought from varsity shipping, guaranteed by amazon; came on time, as described.
