First off I have to say that the pictures that come with these tights will make you think they are for cycling. They''re not. They are intended to be running tights. Sure, you could use them on a bike but they do not have a chamois in them and so will not be as comfortable on a ride as 3/4 tights that are made for cycling.
I wear size large Pearl Izumi cycling shorts and tights when out on my bike and I ordered these in the same size. They fit just as well as my cycling gear, and don''t have the diaper feeling that the chamois in my cycling and tri shorts gives me when I walk around.
I''m 6''1" tall and these come down well past my knees and part way onto my calves. They don''t seem to ride up too much, and actually seem to stay put a bit better than my cycling 3/4 tights. That may be in part because I''m sitting down when cycling.
There''s a handy key pocket in the back center with a zipper. This has been very useful for me in carrying my house key with when I go for a run. You could probably wedge a gel pack or two in there if you wanted.
There''s plenty of support in these tights so you won''t have to wear underwear underneath them. The compression is enough to keep everything in place without making things uncomfortable down there.
So far I''ve worn them on runs in the 47-60 degree temperature range. They keep my upper legs warm and compressed enough that I feel good while still allowing me to dump heat out through the exposed skin of my calves. This seems to be just the right balance for me. I definitely will not be wearing these in warmer weather than that or I''ll be back into the overheating zone for me.
I didn''t set out to find something to support my knees but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that these in fact support my knees a fair amount. I only noticed after wearing these for a few runs and having the weather warm up again. When I switched back to my running shorts for the warmer weather I noticed that my knees were complaining a bit. After switching back to these again I noticed the knee complaints went away. So apparently my knees like being compressed a bit when running. It''s not a huge amount of compression, but it is enough.
Now on the style question I will have to say that it took a bit of courage to step out in these the first time. Despite me knowing they are men''s 3/4 tights I had that little voice in the back of my head saying that everyone would think I was wearing women''s leggings. Being a cyclist I''m used to wearing form fitting clothing and had figured that worst case I could always wear these as compression clothing under something else. But, when I put them on the first time I realized they do not look like women''s leggings. With my heavily muscles thighs and calves from cycling they look a lot more like football tights than women''s leggings. That muscle in the mix makes a lot of difference. Now I wouldn''t go out and make these my regular day attire, but as a functional piece of clothing for a sport I think anyone can pull them off. Just know that you are a runner, and you are running. And, if anyone gives you grief ask them how far they''ve run today.I wear this for running, yoga, and basic gym cloths. I love having the pocket in the back for my smart phone and mp3 player. I have another pair that I have used year round. They seem to be good no matter the weather (though in a snow storm, you may want an outer shell as a wind breaker).

I''m very happy with these but only gave 3 stars because I have another pair that is 6 months older and they have begun to lose their ''compressiveness''. Yes, I know that they are not compression shorts, but it is an indicator that they will not fit as new for a long time. I expect to get about < 1.5 years use out of them.I got these as a gift from my wife. Awesome tights! Nice and light. Good temperature control. They have a built in pair of underwear, I guess they are called, so they are very supportive. I ran in them on a 65 degree day and I wasn''t ultra sweaty, so these tights will allow you to breath fairly well. Nice reflective strip on them if you are running in the early morning or in the night. My favorite feature is a zip pocket in the back that is big enough for my iPhone and a car alarm remote. I am a minimalist runner, so I strive to be as light and natural as possible. If you are looking for a tight that is supportive, light, and breathable then these are definitely for you!
