Bayou Fitness Total Trainer 4000-XL Home Gym

Bayou Fitness Total Trainer 4000-XL Home GymThis is pretty much a first impressions review.

It arrived earlier than the shipping estimate, and was packaged in a double box. The machine is easy to set up, so easy that the hardest part was actually opening the two layers of boxes.

The TT4000XL is satisfyingly heavily constructed, with steel rails and a well-built padded bench that is both wider and longer than other brands at this price. I* bought the 4000XL "blind," based on online reviews and after trying some competing brands. So far, it has lived up to the positive reviews, and has all the advantages it was touted as having.

Specifically, it is a bit larger than other brands at this price point. The more well-known Total Gym series, in particular, is a little small for me and feels cramped io am 6 feet tall and 180 lbs, the outside limit for the Total Gym until you move up to the $1000 models. The Total trainer, however, doesn;''t feel cramped at all to me, and I really appreciate the heavier, longer, and wider glide bench.

Like most body-weight resistance home gyms, it folds up for easy storage. The wheels/casters are smooth and easy to roll, making it easy for my wife to move the gym around, and either set it up or fold it away for storage. Since it weighs around 90 lbs, I was a little concerned she would not be able to maneuver it, but she has had no problems.

Again, we''ve only had it but a few days, but so far it seems solid, well-built, and sturdy. Based on this machine, I would recommend Bayou Fitness products to any moderate-to-casual home user. This is a high-quality piece of equipment, and offers features like the bar for adding additional weight that are available from other brands only on their much more expensive models. It is a much better machine than the base models other companies offer at this price point.

I purchased this TT and it arrived with a defective glideboard. I contacted BF and they recommended that I change the rollers on the glideboard. When the rollers arrived I noticed a problem while changing the rollers with the glide channel on the glideboard. It was too narrow where the pan head pin was installed. I contacted BF again and they sent me a used glide channel a week later. The used glide channel did not have a pan head pin installed. I contacted BF again and they told me to remove the pin with snap ring pliers.

I believe that with a properly operating glide board, would have made this a good purchase. I did request that the glide board be replaced and they refused. This was the last straw. I returned the TT 4000XL today and I had to pay $55.00 for shipping charges.

I do believe in giving the opportunity for a wrong to be corrected, but BF failed me on this purchase.

I think it is great! It is well constructed, and came with extras of many of the parts that will wear out (rope, pulleys, etc). It comes with 2 DVD''s, a workout booklet, and a manual. Because I had so much reference material,I was confident I was using it correctly and I created a workout routine right away. It come with the handlebar and foot board that only comes with the more expensive total gyms. I believe it is built better than the total gyms in that price range.

I had done much comparison shopping before finally purchasing this model from Amazon. It arrived fully assemble as promised and setup took less than 5 minutes. The unit folds and stores easily, which was important to me because I don''t have enough room for a full size workout machine in my house. The workout video is awesome and ease of use is excellent. I highly recommend this unit over other comparable models simply because you get more bang for the buck!

For the last few years, I''ve been in a struggle with my fitness. I started taking my health and fitness seriously in 2005, after years of sedentary living and a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes in 1999. At my heaviest, I was 301 pounds at 5'' 8" tall. Not good. When I started working out, I was 275 lbs. Using another piece of recommended equipment (Urban Rebounder) along with a modified diet...I was able to get to 243. In 2007, I was given a clean bill of health. Anyway, at some point, I needed resistance work to tone up. I decided to join the YMCA at a discounted rate. It was nice for a while, but my work schedule only allows me to go early in the morning. Eventually, with the early rising and an unwillingness to get out of bed, you start making excuses not to go. Even at a discounted rate...if you''re only going twice-to-three times a week, it''s a waste of money. So one morning, I say to myself that I lost my weight working out at home. let''s get back on that program. After seeing the Total Gym infomercial, I figured there was someone making a reasonably-priced offshoot. After searching the internet, I came across Bayou Fitness'' line of products and decided on the 4000XL.

It was ready to use right out of the box. As one review stated...that was the hardest part of the set-up. Once out of the box, it was ready to use. In just trying to get familiar with the machine, I was getting a good workout. I''ve had it for about a week and a half, using it almost every day. Because it''s sitting right there, there are no more excuses to make. I am already feeling the burn and seeing and feeling slight changes in my body. I have a LONNNNG way to go, believe me. But I am on my way.

I''ll be canceling my YMCA membership. You can cancel your gym membership too. It''s OK. This is a great piece of equipment. You''ll feel it working, so you will use it. I wish I bought this four years ago,

Physique 57 Exercise Ball

Physique 57 Exercise BallI ordered this ball because I broke the pump on my first physique 57 ball, so I figured I''d just get another ball/pump kit since I use it so much. Unfortunately this isn''t the "original" physique 57 playground ball. This ball is soft, actually it feels like velvet, and you inflate it with what looks like a straw. It doesn''t hold the amount of air that you need in order to do the videos and actually I worry that I''ll pop it cause it seems so flimsy. I would suggest that anyone who is new to the physique 57 videos, try and get the original ball/pump kit cause it''s thicker, and is a true playground ball.

it serves it''s purpose physique 57 is a great exercise product and if you''re commited you can get gret results

Timex Full-Size T5K561 Health Touch Plus Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Timex Full-Size T5K561 Health Touch Plus Heart Rate Monitor WatchI recieved the first Timex Health Touch Plus with heart rate monitor and it was DOA in the box and was returned the next day to Amazon. The replacement device arrived within a few days from Amazon and it appeared to operate ok out of the box. The main problem with the replacement device was that the heart rate monitor didn''t work at all after 10-15 minutes of exercise no matter who wore it. The other problem was the warning tone for the heart rate monitor would sometimes go off in the middle of the night even with the watch sitting on the kitchen island not being worn. It said that the kitchen island had a low heart rate.......

Returned the 2nd device for credit and I don''t believe that I will order another Timex Health Touch watch again.

The watch/monitor is a unique product. It does provide the time and the heart rate as well the healthy life style readings. The additinal service of this product is that the unit will let you replace the rubber/plastic band with a stainless one. If the band is 18mm it well work. I used a timex band that is metal and black that looks great with the black side of the watch case and the silver band around the face of the watch. The combo looks great and works fine too! The watch would be fine with the original band, but I like the look that is more acceptable for work or casual wear rather than the gym. Thank you timex!

It works well...but after only 3 months of use it started going haywire and completely stopped functioning. Additionally the strap is too large for a femal, seems more like a mans watch then unisex. The band also seemed to have lost it''s firmness.

Everlast Pink Women''s Grappling Training Glove

Everlast Pink Women''s Grappling Training GloveGreat quality and good cushioning for my knuckles! I definitely recommend! If you need the padding but hate the bulk of regular boxing gloves, this is the product to buy!

I bought these, because I really only needed my knuckles to be padded, and I didn''t want my hands to get so sweaty in the process of my workout.

I was looking for a pair of boxing gloves that protected my knuckles without the addition of wraps. I had a basic foam pair, but even with wraps I still ended up with bloody knuckles. These protect my wrists and knuckles without wraps and are a perfect fit for my larger female hands.

I did a lot of research before ordering these gloves. I was so excited about the pink boxing gloves until someone mentioned finger length. That had never crossed my mind, but I have fingers like a tree frog, so I turned my attention to these. I was hesitant because they look flimsy, however when I got them and put them on I felt perfection. Excellent support in the wrist, firm and adequate cushioning to keep your hands from hurting on impact or being sore the next day, but not so much as to make you clumsy. A bonus, you can still use your fingers of you need to change the radio station or send a quick text. Absolutely a recommend!

Had a hard time finding grappling gloves that didn''t have reviews complaining about the size being off. I could only find these in small/medium or large/x-large. People with small hands were saying the small/medium were too small and to go a size bigger. So that''s what I did and they are a bit too big. On another product, I saw someone recommend getting wrapping tape and buying bigger gloves so you could make them fit. I did buy the tape and will see how that goes.

The gloves are a little stiff, hoping that works out with use. The quality seems pretty good too. I don''t see anything glaringly obvious that would suggest a problem.

FYI, my review rating is based on the quality of the gloves, not the size/fit. If I had gone by the chart, a small/medium is probably what I needed and it is my own fault for listening to the reviews. However, on the other hand, fellow reviewers may be right about buying bigger and making them fit with tape.

I haven''t tested the gloves yet (hope to tonight) and if they feel like the stiffness will work out, then I will up them a star. If there is something wrong with them after I use them, I will come back and adjust the rating.

These are great! Very sturdy and comfortable-but a little stiff. If you plan on using them for any sparring, I recommend you break them in a bit first. The color is fabulousand I get comments every time I wear them (typically from the guys who would HATE to get clobbered with PINK gloves! LOL)

RYKA Women''s Desire Running Shoe

RYKA Women''s Desire Shoe,Dark Pink/White/Yellow,8.5 M USI bought this shoe at a local shoe store. Had never heard of the name, but they looked comfy. I have HORRIBLE problems with foot pain, mainly from plantar fasciitis. I''ve always been told that I need arch supports, etc. Well after doing a LOT Of research, I''ve found that shoes mess our feet up. Walking barefoot helps to strengthen our feet, plus being grounded is very beneficial for our body. I recently started walking barefoot in my yard daily. When I discovered these shoes, they felt like I was barefoot. I have ZERO problems wearing them...NO PAIN in my feet, NONE in my back!!!! They are light & seem to mold to your foot. I plan to buy more colors & hope they make some new designs. I''m even tempted to wear them to church!!!! This shoe is by far, the BEST I have ever worn.

I walked the Charleston bridge in these shoes, sockless! These are so comfortable, easy to slip on, and don''t cause blistering. If you need ankle support, don''t buy these. There is a strap on the heel that I thought would be uncomfortable after a while, but it hasn''t bothered me one bit.

I love that it doesnt have laces and the elastic allows the shoe to confirm to different sizes of your foot. Highly recommend!

Buy Motorola MOTOACTV Women''s Sports Wrist Strap Now

I initially ordered the men''s wrist strap and armband as those were the only ones available when I first got my Motoactv. I''m 5''1" and 108 lbs, so quite petite, and the original wrist strap was just ridiculous on me (I might as well have worn it as an armband) so I never used it. Wearing the Motoactv on my arm worked if I wanted to use it for the music and as a HRM, but when I run, I like to be able to look at it to keep track of my distance, time, etc. When this wrist strap became available, I ordered it. I''ve been using only the wrist strap ever since (according to my Amazon order record, for around 6 months now) and am quite happy with it. I''m small-boned (left wrist measures 5.5 inches around at the point where I wear this) and am able to wear this with 3 holes left over. With long sleeves, I fasten it over my shirt and have 4 holes left over.

The Motoactv can be slipped in and out of the wristband relatively easily if you want to switch from it to the armband. It''s secure though, so I never worry about it falling out.

The two things I wish were that it was positioned differently and of a slightly more flexible fabric. The rubbery strap does seem like it might last longer (i.e. hold up to sweat) better than something softer. I would think something similar to the chest strap fabric might work though. Also, if you hold your arm up to look at it as you would a watch, the Motoactv is sideways. I will try to post a picture of it on my arm at some point.

One other note--when I wear this on my wrist, I run the cable for my (super-cheap) earphones down the inside of my left sleeve, out by my wrist, and plugged in to the Motoactv. I often wear running skirts with earphone ports and pockets designed for music players, but since I want to be able to look at the screen, I''m not going to put the thing in my pocket. This setup works pretty well. I would recommend earphones with a clip so you can attach them to your shirt to keep them from moving around too much.

Overall, I love my Motoactv and this strap makes it easy and convenient to use.

My husband has an ACTV and had gotten me one. His wrist band was too large (I have small wrists) and the arm band was too large. In addition, I like being able to see the ACTV on my wrist. This one is definitely smaller/thinner. A tiny bit thinner would be nice, but it doesn''t bother me when working out/running.

Fitness by Cathe 2-Pound Weighted Gloves with DVD

Fitness by Cathe 2-Pound Weighted Gloves with DVDI got these gloves to replace the Beachbody cheapies that came with my Turbo Jam Maximum Results package. (The Beachbody ones just fell apart after 3 months of use)

So far these Cathe ones are great, and what I love best about them is that they fit like a glove, with a hole for each one of your fingers, including your thumb. This ensures a secure fit, and makes sure your glove won''t go flying off your hand while your doing punches (a huge problem I had with the Beachbody ones). They are easier to put on too and have an adjustable wrist band with a secure velcro and belt hook closure. The only complaint I have is that the part of the glove that covers my hands and has the "weight" in it feels a little loose and can''t be tightened, the weighted part kind of slides around the top of my hands, but I guess that could be be attributable to the fact that I have small hands. Problem easily solved by maintaining a little fist during the workout, which is really the point of these gloves during kickboxing anyway. They provide great resistance and can easily go into the washing machine when they get grimy (just remember to remove the weights first, which are enclosed in a zip-closure in the glove).Turbo Jam Maximum Results DVD Set 6 Workouts with Weighted Gloves [DVD]

I have two pairs of gloves that I alternate for my workouts. These ones are great because they allow you to use your hands to grasp stability balls, resistance bands, and free weights. I use these with my turbo jam workouts and they fit great. I alternate them with gloves that do not have finger holes. I find that if I wear these every day the skin between my fingers gets raw and sore. Other than that they are great gloves!

Buy Fitness by Cathe 2-Pound Weighted Gloves with DVD Now

I love the idea of weighted gloves. Each glove had 2 ½ pound weights, for a total of 1 pound per glove.

The pros:

**great way to add intensity to kickboxing workouts.

**great way to slightly increase weights for strength training. Sometimes the increments between dumbbells are too big, e.g. 15 pounds may be too light, but 20 pounds is much too heavy.

**easy to clean. You can just pop them in the washer; but be sure to take out the little weights before you do.

The cons:

**the area around the thumb hole shredded after about 1 month of use. I''ve put duct tape around it, but it''s a pain to remove the duct tape when I wash the gloves.

**the little weight sacks leak sand. I''ve put duct tape around all the edges to stop this, but it makes the weight sacks bulkier and harder to fit back into the glove.

These gloves would work best for folks who use them as is and don''t keep switching the weights in and out of them. They might hold up better.

Overall, I would suggest a different brand that is higher quality.

Read Best Reviews of Fitness by Cathe 2-Pound Weighted Gloves with DVD Here

Definitely a great buy. Good for adding extra weight for any workout. Only gave it 4 stars simply due to the fact that you cant really add more weight than what is provided (1Lb/glove, 2Lbs total). The material is really good and stretchy, easily fitting most hands. I have large hands any they fit rather well. A little tight around the thumbs but easily adjusted with some careful scissor work. I wear them as often as possible, in addition to wearing 10Lbs ankle/wrist weights, and do everyday tasks like cleaning around the house or simply writing out the bills. At first, it seems heavy and odd, but as you get used to them, you can really feel it. Try playing Mario-kart on the Wii and keeping your arms up! That additional weight will certainly make its presence known after a few laps! Really a great product to have for the modern day Wii workout programs. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a work out that you can do constantly and forget you''re even doing it.

Want Fitness by Cathe 2-Pound Weighted Gloves with DVD Discount?

These gloves are a great idea, but the implementation is really lacking. Trying to stuff all 4 of those little sand bags into the S/M size gloves is a real pain and, not surprisingly, the flimsy zipper broke after only a few uses. Now I try to hold the weights in with duct tape , although that''s not so convenient if you want to change weights frequently, which I do in fact, I bought the gloves because of the weight flexibility, but I think I''m just going to buy 2 pound gloves and forget about the little sand bags. Just plain poor quality of construction.

Total Body Solution: Relieve Pain & Prevent Strain in 15 Minutes, Workout DVD

Total Body Solution: Relieve Pain & Prevent Strain in 15 Minutes, Workout DVD(#1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)This therapeutic DVD by Beachbody features instructor Debbie Siebers of Slim in Six/Slim Series fame. She has enlisted neurophysiologist Chad Waterbury to create routines that help (according to the DVD cover) "relieve pain and alleviate strain." This DVD focuses on five specific areas of the body: Neck, Shoulders, Low Back, Core, and Knee. In their Introduction, Debbie and Chad discuss the signs of healthy functioning in these areas, including mobility, range of motion, and endurance strength. These indicators of healthy functioning are further explored in the Assessment tests (explained below).

The Main Menu lists each of the five target areas. When you select one, you are first taken to additional information about Beachbody''s services (you can fast-forward through this, but it can''t be skipped), and then Debbie and Chad come onscreen for an introduction to that area. Each area consists of two sections: 1) Assessment Test(s), 1-2 tests exploring pre-existing functioning in that area, and 2) Solution, a series of exercises, or "drills," designed to improve mobility, range of motion, and endurance strength in that particular area. The setting is outdoors, with Chad providing instruction and Debbie performing both the Assessment tests as well as all of the drills (Chad sometimes joins in).

I have broken down each segment in detail below. (Note: for all drills, 15 repetitions of each exercise are performed unless otherwise noted.)

NECK, 12.5 minutes

Assessment (2 mins.; uses chair)

There are two Neck tests. The first is a chin tuck, attempting to hold the chin toward the chest for 30 seconds without pain. The second is a head turn, trying to get the head past the shoulder on either side.

Solution (10 mins.; uses mat and chair)

Chin tuck

Neck flexion (lying face-up, lifting head)

Neck Extension (lying face down, lifting head)

Side neck flexion (lifting head from side-lying position; repeat on both sides)

Head tilt hold (seated in chair, hold head for neck stretch)

SHOULDERS, 15.5 minutes

Assessment (1.5 mins.)

There is one Shoulders test. This consists of reaching behind the back with one hand coming up over the shoulder and reaching down, one hand coming across the back and reaching up, and then trying to clasp the two hands together (aka cow-face arms in yoga); this is repeated on both sides.

Solution (14 mins.; uses mat and band with optional stability ball)

Egyptian (arms bent at 90-degrees, one up, one down; alternate)

Chest Lift (standing, raise chest while pulling shoulders back)

Floor Push (protract/retract shoulder blades)

Y Raise (lying over stability ball, lift arms in Y shape)

External Rotation (arms bent at 90-degrees, rotate down and back up)

T Rotation (on hands and knees, alternately lift one arm and twist)

Floor Slide (lying on back, slide arms down, squeezing traps muscles)

Band Pull (holding band overhead, bring behind back)

LOWER BACK, 22 minutes

Assessment (4 mins.)

The Lower Back assessment consists of one test: holding a bent over fold for 120 seconds with good form and without pain.

Solution (18 mins.)

Cat/Camel (on hands and knees, alternately arch/extend spine)

Hip Twist

Bird Dog (on hands and knees, lift opposite arm/leg)

Trunk Twist (standing twist)

Glute Bridge (pelvic raises performed on heels)

Clam (open/close leg)

Good Morning (come to bent over position/raise back up)

Psoas Hold (hip stretch)

CORE, 15.5 minutes

Assessment (5.5 mins.)

Two Core tests are performed. The first is a 90 second hold of plank, and the second is a 75 second hold of side (elbow) plank, although this is performed on both sides.

Solution (10 mins.; uses mat)

Standing trunk twist

Standing side bend

Hand walk out (moving plank performed on knees)

Side trunk raise (modified side plank)

Curl up (reverse abs curl)

KNEE, 16.5 minutes

Assessment (2.5 mins.)

There are two Knee tests. The first, which looks at hyperextension, involves being seated on the floor, legs straight out in front, feet flexed; heels should be off the floor with no pain. The second, examining active flexion, is a single leg lunge, performed with the back knee reaching the floor, again without pain.

Solution (14 mins.; uses mat and chair--also, Debbie is in socks rather than sneakers)

Leg extension (seated in chair and raising leg)

Partial squat

Calf raise (with hands on seat of chair)

Knee curl (rocking into partial front lunge)

Leg curl (lying face up and pulling heels in)

Single leg balance (holding for 30 seconds on each side)

Quadriceps hold (lying face down; holding each side 30 seconds)

Debbie recommends that to see results, you need to do the Solution for the given area every other day for 30 days. I have not yet done that, but because I am quite tight in the upper body, I have been alternating the Neck and Shoulder Solutions every day for about 1 1/2 weeks now, and it does seem to be helping me. I''ve had some low back and knee issues in the past as well, and I wouldn''t hesitate to turn to the routines on this DVD whenever I need some rehab work in those areas. This is an ideal DVD for regular exercisers, athletes, and others who may have some nagging issues and/or want to prevent any problems from getting worse.

We all have issues with our joints at some point or other and this becomes especially challenging when trying to lose weight or just get fit. I recently started slim in 6 (down 15lbs after 3 weeks) and discovered Total Body solution (TBS) just when I was starting it. Lucky day that I did. During the last quarter of last year I was unable to exercise due to back injury. So this year after being cleared to exercise in therapy, I was very worried about aggravating the injury. Thanks to the lower back and knee segments of TBS my back flexibility has increased, as has my endurance during back exercises. It does have some of the same exercises I did during therapy and a few more. I am doing it every other day and though I still get pain now and again, the intensity/duration is much less than before starting it. Highly recommend this DVD!

I have a lower back bulging disc and arthritis in my knee (thanks 80s hi-impact aerobics). I have been to physical therapy and chiropractic care to treat both. I decided I wanted a DVD to do at home so I wouldn''t have to keep paying to do something I could do at home.

So far so good many of the exercises are ones I have done in PT. I like Debbie''s upbeat personality and comments playing to Chad''s straight man personae. A few times when Debbie is doing the exercises they focus on Chad''s face instead of showing what Debbie is doing. It would be helpful if Debbie counted her reps, but you are supposed to work at your own pace.

I recommend this to anyone who needs to treat pain and weak muscles to prevent further injury. I''m hoping this will get back me back to my active form soon!

My needs are fairly simple....I have tried (and liked) several of the Polar and Timex monitors that require chest straps. But this device is slick....especially becuase it links with an iphone app--and I was using the iphone for music on my workouts and/or for gps on outdoor walking, etc.

However, the Scosche Mytrek app is horrible....inconsistent, doesn''t work, requires my iphone to be rebooted, etc. But there is an app, Digifit, that recogizes the device and works great. I use it every day. Haven''t fully compared every feature of the two apps, but it''s kind of a moot point as my needs are pretty basic, and the Digifit works great, and works and plays well with other apps (especially when multitasking). Without the Digitfit app, I probably would rate the device a 1 rather than a 4.

Only downsides are that the device needs to be chaged between uses, and overall the iphone battery life is an issue when using this (and iphone criticism, not a Scosche criticism!) If you''re using the app, GPS, listening to music, occassionally surfing the net while working out, etc. it really runs the battery down quickly,

The hardware is good and measuring heart rate seems accurate; unfortunately, the MyTrek software is horrible.

There is an alternative compatible software, Digifit, mentioned on the Scosche website and mentioned in another review, which is excellent. Even though I had to pay a couple of bucks for Digifit, the combination makes it solid heart rate monitor solution for me.

I bought this device to help monitor my heart rate for my daily jogs. While the hardware itself is fairly adequate, the iPhone software is woefully lacking. After loading the Scosche app for the first time, the app promptly failed without warning and spontaneously quit. I rebooted my phone many times and paired/unpaired the device without success. The only workaround I found was to delete the app and reinstall it, which gave the app one more life until it went into a crazy crashing cycle all over again.

I''m giving the hardware 4 stars, and the overall package a 3 star rating because there''s a perfectly good workaround to these problems: Digifit. Digifit is a nice dashboard that aggregates workout data from a variety of sensors including pedometers and heart rate monitors. So far, I''ve been pretty happy with using the MyTrek band as a sensor and Digifit as the accompanying software solution.

I have been getting back into running for a while now and using the app Nike+ GPS. I got the Scosche myTREK because I liked the idea of getting more info than Nike+ GPS provides like my heart rate and calories burned. I must say this product is amazing. Scosche does a great job of providing everything you need in the box and then some, including 3 different size straps. The unit is small and you can barely feel it. The set up is very easy and the app is very easy to use. I found I was actually burning way more calories on my runs than Nike+ GPS was estimating. I highly recommend this great product!

Background:

I''m a technology guy who runs long distances. I wanted a heart-rate monitor to tell when I''m overheating in the summer. (It''s hard to monitor body temperature, but when you get too hot, your heartrate spikes). I had a Polar chest band system, which worked well but I really hated running with the tight chest band.

What this is:

It is an armband that goes on the thick part of your forearm NOT your wrist. It shines green light onto the hairless part of your arm and uses the reflection to determine when your heart beats. The device does NOT have a display. You need an iPhone to view your heartrate. The charger plugs into a USB slot it does NOT plug into a wall socket. It DOES use bluetooth to talk to your iPhone, so you don''t need to plug anything into your iPhone to make it work.

iPhone & App:

I have an old 3GS. I used the Digifit app, based on the recommendations here. The app ("Digifit iCardio Multi-sport Heart Rate...") is free, but it costs $3 to have it connect to the Scorsche myTREK.

Setup:

I had no problem charging the device. It connected easily to Digifit. It took a while to understand the armband there are two different straps included to fit different size forearms. I use the smaller one and it is almost too large. (And I''m a 200 lb. guy who boxes...) In Digifit, you want to press "Workout" NOT "Quick Start". "Workout" has the good features "Quick Start" is for people who didn''t pay $3. I did have to enable bluetooth on my iPhone. (I had disabled it to save battery.)

Experience:

Overall, it''s okay. It seems to take a while for the device to "lock on" to your actual heartrate. It often says 72 at startup, when my non-workout heartrate is less than that. After a while, it gets it right. I don''t think the software handles changing heartrates well, but it does get the steady ones right. The graph of heartrates when I went for a 10 mile run was what I expected.

The Digifit app has some problems. It claimed that my 10 mile run was 13 miles. When ran by the reservoir in Central Park, the app somehow thought I jumped to the opposite side of the water. And then jumped back again. There was another jump somewhere in the run, but I made two rounds of a loop and the app couldn''t show those loops on the map separately.

I don''t like that I have to get the phone out just to check my heartrate. It also takes 3-4 seconds for the phone to unlock and for the app to wake up. (It''s a 2 year old phone, but this is slower than any other app except the camera.) Given this and that the device takes time to "lock on to" a changed heart-rate, I''m not sure how useful for checking for extreme heart rates.

Using Digifit and the device does chew up phone battery. It used up 80% of my battery in 2hrs and 15 minutes.

One thing I did like about the Digifit app is that it recorded my max heartrate and shows all numbers as a percentage of that.

The armband is comfortable and light. I forget it is there when I''m running, which never happens with the Polar chest strap!

Conclusion:

If you want to track your average heartrate through a workout, and have an iPhone with you, and won''t go so long as to run out the battery on your iPhone, and don''t need to move your arms heavily, this is a comfortable solution. Much more pleasant than a chest strap.

I think it''s an okay "version 1.0". It has its faults, but it''s much more comfortable than a chest strap for runners, bikers, etc. I wish it had its own heartrate display. I wish it was better at calculating the current heartrate. I wish the Digifit app used less battery and handled distance better. These few things better would make a solid "version 2.0" product.

Jane Fonda Workout Cardio Hoop

Jane Fonda Workout Cardio HoopThis p.o.s. hoop falls apart instantly! As soon as you get a few revolutions going, off your body it goes a flinging! Don''t buy!

I picked this up on clearance at Target, super excited because I always wanted to try hula-hooping for exercise, but thought most of the hoops out there were pretty expensive. I didn''t even even let the one and only review posted here deter me, thinking maybe they just didn''t put it together right. Well, that review was 100% correct! Although there are no instructions in the box on how to properly put the hoop together, it was simple enough to figure out...later I found video instructions on the company website on how to put it together, and my assembly was correct. I should have been more skeptical as soon as the instructor comes on the DVD and her hoop looks kind of warped and crooked like the segments just don''t wanted to stay aligned. Sure enough, a few twirls in, and my hoop went flying off behind me as it came apart. I kept putting it back together a few more times before I threw it aside and grabbed my kids'' toy hula hoop and finished the DVD.

For the few sporadic moments that the Ultrahoop stayed intact, I was able to get a feel for it and could tell that this will give you a good cardio/core workout. Since I finished the DVD with a regular toy hoop, I realize you definitely need a weighted hoop; the lighter weight of the toy just doesn''t give you any control or resistance. I can hoop for a long time, but the "work-out" just isn''t there with the toy. The DVD itself is a good no-impact routine, which is what I need having bad knee issues. Too bad this hoop is useless.

This is going back to the store, but the workout gave a little taste for hooping and now I want more. I went ahead and ordered a Hoopnotica travel hoop (through Amazon, it''s cheaper than their website) for more money instead. Can''t wait for it to get here!

This product is poorly made!!! It is almost impossible to put together and comes apart when you use it. My hoop actually fell apart and broke...don''t waste your time and $.

This is the most excellent exercise product I''ve ever owned. I also bought mine on clearance at Targetng, in exchange for an unwanted Christmas gift 2 years ago. The hoop, once it''s assembled PROPERLY, is awesome. It is strong, durable, comfortable to use and effective. I''ve done 1000 revolutions at a time with this hoop, with no problems. In fact, it''s put together so well, that I''ve not been able to take it apart.

The weight of it negates any possibility of not losing inches. I would encourage anyone who wants an easy way to tighten their core and lose inches to buy this hoop. Just be sure to follow the assembly instructions and don''t blame the product for your lack of efficiency.

TKO Bench 824FID Flat / Incline / Decline Workout BenchThis was the exact bench that I wanted. Unfortunately, it came damaged in shipping twice. It was sent UPS and boxed poorly for such a heavy item. I tried to get Amazon to send me it in better packaging or through a differnt carrier, but I was not successful in doing so. So I returned the product twice and just purchased something locally.

I bought this for our gym at the resort where I work. It came undamaged and it was easy to assemble. It took less than 5 minutes to assemble. Everyone really likes it. Its is a great weight bench.TKO Bench 824FID Flat / Incline / Decline Workout Bench

CycleOps Training Mat for Indoor Bicycle Trainers

CycleOps Training Mat for Indoor Bicycle TrainersI like the mat, seems very durable and of good quality; though it''s a little pricey (that''s why 4 stars instead of 5). I purchased this mat intending to use it on my hardwood floor to help dampen noise from the trainer|bike, but ended up placing the trainer in a room with a rug. I still use the mat in order to catch any oil or crud that may drip from my bike, but have found that the trainer doesn''t stay flat on the rug -it tends to slip a little bit and bunch up around the places where it contacts the trainer. This is not an issue while riding, but is a cosmetic thing. The trainer seems to be pushing and stretching the mat into the rug.

I debated between buying this mat with my bike trainer or using a cheaper yoga mat. I''m happy I went this route (even though it was more money), because its larger than a standard yoga mat and its much more durable. Its nice to use to protect the floor.

The mat does what it is supposed to. The quality seems to be good. And it lies flat on the floor, even though it came rolled up in a tube. No complaints so far.

This mat is great to protect the floor on which the trainer is being used; it prevents the bike and trainer from sliding around while in use. It''s heavy-duty and is the perfect size for training setup. I only gave it four stars because even though it''s pretty sturdy, it is just a bit spendy--otherwise a perfect purchase!

Quality was higher than expected, but $50 for a piece of plastic is still expensive.

Stretch Tye Dye Bra Top

StretchTye Dye Youth OSFM Purple/BlackThis top looks tiny when you first see it, but it stretches to fit. My daughter wears a size 12 in most clothing, and the junior OSFA fit her great. The colors are very bright. She had received lots of compliments on this top and the matching shorts when she wears it to her gymnastics classes.

My 4 year old daughter refers to this as her baby bra. It seems relatively comfortable as she insists on wearing one of her baby bras every night and day.

Moving Comfort Women''s Phoebe A/B Bra

Moving Comfort Women''s Phoebe A/B Bra,White,X-LargeMoving comfort makes an excellent sports bra, and this one in particular for high impact activities. It is easy to put on and is long lasting (I have the same ones i purchased 3 years ago and they still are functional and not lost their stretchiness (unlike my other Champion sports bras). This one is seamless on the front, so that lines don''t show through your shirt.

This bra was soft and smooth, but was so tight I could hardly get it on. I can''t even imagine trying to get it off while sweaty after working out! The band that runs around just under the bust line has almost no stretch which makes getting it on/off a challenge. I sent it back for a refund. With so much size inflation these days I usually have to order a small or extra small, I am a 32/34B and I ordered a small which perhaps was true to size and way too small for me!

I''m a 34C and have the Medium. Yes, this bra really compresses my breasts, but I don''t like ANY movement when I run. I often double up on my jog bras, but not with this one! Mine is about two or three years old and it''s still holding up nicely.

I read the reviews before purchasing and took the advice to buy a size bigger. I ordered medium and I''m a 32-34A. Well, it runs small to say the least. And yes, it really does compress "the girls". So if that''s what you''re looking for then this is a great sports bra. It''s well made, the material is great. For me I didn''t find the fit comfortable or particularly flattering.

This is a wonderful sports bra! It really holds and is COMFORTABLE. I tried this on a a local store and paid over $50. I usually wear a small, but the salesperson (This store is fantastic to help with fit, but is pricey.) told me to try on a Medium. Well, of course I had to try on a small, anyway! And it WAS much too small. The Medium fit great and I really think this is the best sports bra I have ever owned.
