Trainer In a Bag, Equalizer Suspension Trainer, Camo, (3000 Series)

Trainer In a Bag, Equalizer Suspension Trainer, Camo,. Made in USA.UPDATE May 2012: I just ordered the new 5/8" pully trainer It''s a bit pricier but I hope it will solve any issues I have with the earlier version reviewed below.

Full disclosure, I am a TRX certified personal trainer (I DON''T work for TRX or get paid by them, I just use their products daily). I got this to supplement my TRX units in the boot camp classes that I teach because I need more suspension trainers and the TRX units are way too expensive.

Pros

1) Super affordable (awesome!)

2) Functional. As far as I can tell I could perform all of the same exercises on this that I can on a TRX trainer.

3) The handles are nice. Better quality than I expected for the price

Cons

1) Not totally convinced that the D-ring, slide buckles, or the grommets are up to the task of heavy in-class use. The unit is rated to 300+ pounds (yeah, I miss-read the product description) and I''m not putting any heavier clients on this one at all and nobody on it for high-stress exercises (e.g., double atomic push ups). In contrast TRX units are rated to ~1000lbs). To me this is the real drawback of this unit and will keep me from ordering anymore.

2) Assembly instructions. Seriously, either save paper and stop printing them (TWO, double sided pages?...really? An online version of these printed instructions would be fine) or better still, rewrite/condense them. Ok I did get the thing put together in spite of the instructions (it''s not rocket science, just a couple of straps).

3) Quick adjustment not as easy as TRX units but since I could buy 6 of these for the cost of one TRX I''m not surprised.

Bottom line, I think this is an ok deal for the money but would only recommend it for personal use and lighter people.

First a disclaimer: I am in no way related to the owners or employees of the company in question, nor have I ever had any other contact with them other than from ordering their products or speaking with them via e-mail. I have no vested interest in endorsing their merchandise. However, as a person devoted to a lifetime of fitness, my interest is to motivate you!

I''ve had a chance now to use the suspension training system for several weeks and can honestly say it more than lives up to expectations. I''ve trained for over 40 years and have vast experience with all kinds of fitness equipment from your standard free weights to Universal machines, Nautilus equipment, the Total Gym, dumbbells, cables, springs, rubber tubing, etc. Suspension training is simple and effective pitting your body weight against gravity using what basically amounts to heavy-duty nylon tie-down straps and cam buckles as your equipment. By varying the angle of your body and the length of the easy-to-adjust straps, you can quickly change the resistance you''re working against.

What makes this kind of training so effective is that you''re having to use your synergistic muscles for balance and stability. In other words, rather than working on a machine that guides your movements therefore limiting the muscles that are called into play, suspension training activates a multitude of muscle groups all at the same time. Your core is almost always engaged.

For instance, when you do a basic push-up you are indeed using body weight vs. gravity. If you use several chairs you can vary the angle and depth of those push-ups. But if you do the same push-up while suspended in "rings", that becomes a whole new dynamic and far more muscle groups are called into action to keep you balanced and to keep you in correct form. After all, those rings are not in a fixed position and you must control them during your movements.

If you are still hesitant about suspension training, go on-line and Google "suspension training" or "suspension training exercises" and look through the videos on YouTube. If this doesn''t convince you and fire you up, nothing will.

The WOSS Enterprises suspension training systems are all you''ll ever need to achieve whole body fitness. They are compact and lightweight, easy to travel with or to use at home. Why spend far more with name brand competitors when all you''ll receive is expensive packaging with otherwise similar equipment?

Buy Trainer In a Bag, Equalizer Suspension Trainer, Camo, (3000 Series) Now

I got the black one, but am reviewing it here with the other reviews since all the 3000 series suspension trainers are the same.

This is a great product! Very high quality handles and materials. Adjusting the length of the straps is so easy and quick. I haven''t tried the door attachment yet, but it''s very easy to attach this to an upright pole (tree, column) or an overhead one (squat rack, child''s swing set, rafters). These type systems are particularly good for core work and make working out challenging and fun!

Given the quality and ease of use of the RopeInaBag product, I can''t imagine why anyone would ever buy a TRX for so much more!

This product is unbelievable. I have used the trx, and there is literally no difference in functionality between this and the trx. This is so much cheaper than the trx, and you don''t need to buy a separate piece for it to work on a door. The cam buckles are really strong and extremely easy to use. In addition to this being amazing, the shipping was really fast. It came from California to New York in 2 days on standard shipping. I highly recommend this.

If you''re looking for a suspension trainer system, you have quite a few choices available to you. There''s the TRX Suspension Training Pro Pack, the Rip 60 Fitness DVD & Suspension Trainer Set and a few others.

The Rope in a bag trainer is basically the same thing, minus the frills: there are no DVDs and no glossy books. Just the trainer (what you see on the product picture), a small fabric bag for storing it, and two printed pages explaining how to put it together. But if you want to learn how to use it for exercise, you are on your own.

This means that whether or not this trainer is a great value or if you should look elsewhere depends on if you need the DVDs and glossy books that ship with most competitors'' models. Since I don''t need any of that, I decided to buy this trainer.

So far, I am very happy with my purchase. The price is very reasonable, and the quality seems excellent. Setup is simple and straightforward, particularly if you''ve already used a suspension training system.
