Fabric The heft of the fabric takes a little bit of getting used to as a running short, but the cut, style and finish of the shorts is excellent. The variety of colors is also an attractive feature of this model of shorts.

In fact the only real down-side of these shorts (and to me it''s an important one) is the style of the inner lining. These are more of a boxer brief style rather than the more typical "brief style" inner lining of other running shorts. This wouldn''t be so bad except New Balance cheaped out and didn''t design a front "pouch" that one would find in boxer briefs. This makes the inner lining somewhat ineffective.

Rating it a 3 because this key feature makes what would have been a great pair of running shorts, simply a decent pair.

Run 25-30 miles a week. I like the New balance wicking fabrics. These seem durable. Have a pocket and draw string. Light weight. No concerns.

These shorts are a little bit heavier but they do not hinder your running one bit. I''m a 6''4 xc and track runner and i hate wearing shorts that make me look like some pedophile. these are great!

9" is a bit too long but I like the fabric because it is very comfortable for running. It has a mini key pocket and two side pockets. It also has a cord in the left side pocket where you can write your number for emergencies.

These are great running shorts. I really like the drawstring top. I''ve also started using them while working in crossfit. The best part is how quickly all the sweat will dry out from these.
