5 lb. Pair Ankle Weights (10 lbs. total)

5 lb. Pair Ankle Weightsi was looking for adjustable ankle weights that were comfortable, and these are them! i''ve had multiple surgeries on my left leg/knee over the last 18 months due to a motor vehicle accident, and needed something that didnt cause more discomfort, and also with weights i could adjust as i get stronger.

the 1/2lb weight bars each fit into their own slots on the inside of the wrap. they are lined up 5 slots on each side of the ankle, and then a padded flap folds down over each set so they cant fall out, or knock around on your ankles. i like that the back doesnt have any weights at all because my achilles are very sensitive. the front is cut out so that they fit nicely over your shoes. the material and stitching all around seem pretty heavy duty and washable, and the velcro straps are not too wimpy. i am not sure what they are made of since there was no paperwork included in the box.

there are two separate wraps included (one for each ankle), and each one can be adjusted from 1/2 5 lbs (plus the weight of the wrap itself). they are comfortable enough not to have to wear socks underneath. they are taller than i expected, at least six inches high.

i am happy with them :)

My physical therapist recommended ankle weights that could be adjusted from 1-5 pounds per leg. I searched 3 local stores and couldn''t find the specs. What I did find were graphite-like weights which looked messy and difficult to switch out for different loads. By going to Amazon, I found a sporting goods store which sold TWO ankle weights (read the fine print because some come with just ONE weight), with insertable 1/2-pound weights and FREE shipping! The weights are easy to use and I''m very happy.

I received the ankle weights earlier than expected and in new condition. Adjusting the weight was extremely flexible and easy. I was coming off of surgery so being able to increase weight by 1/2 pound increments was great. The metal weights can be put in and taken out of their pockets with no problems. The weights stay in place securely with the enclosure system. The opening for the front of your foot was also a good design idea.

The description on the site could have been clearer in stating whether the "10 lb pair" meant that 1) each ankle weight in the pair weight 10 lbs (20 lb total) or 2) the total weight for the pair was 10 lbs (5 lbs each). I had to find the manufacturer''s website to confirm.
