j/fit 16" Round Fixed Angle Balance Board

j/fit 16'' Round Fixed Angle Balance BoardSo I initially bought a rebok balance board that was cheap and had good reviews... Big mistake! The other balance board had no grip on top so you had to be wearing sneakers to use it. In contrast to that, this one has been just right. The image looks a bit sketchy compared to some of the name brand offerings on amazon, but the non slip top works perfectly, isn''t uncomfortable to stand on while barefoot, and the board seems well constructed and works well on both tile and carpet. I''ll continue using this board for my physical therapy! :)

This is a hard board with a wooden knob on the bottom, and you try to balance on it. When perfectly balanced, the edges of the board are 2 inches above the ground. I''m still no good at getting the edges off the ground for more than one or two seconds, but that''s what I expected. I find I''m better at it when I''m barefoot. The top of it grips well, but I probably wouldn''t wear socks while doing it.

I only gave it 4 stars because I''m not super excited by it, but it seems good at what it''s supposed to be.

I like the product, but the bottom pivot came off after 3 months of use, and I had to re-attach it. There was glue/epoxy residue, which I scraped & sanded off, then used a heavy duty epoxy to re-attach it. It has been fine since being re-glued.

My physical therapist recommended this to me when my balance dramatically declined after an injury. This board has still been (continues to be) very useful in helping to strengthen some of the muscles in and around my hip which I was unable to do with other exercises. Although I later found that most of my balance issues were due to the pain medications I had been taking, I continue to experience benefits from using this balance board.

Since this is a compact, lightweight, durable, and low-tech piece of equipment, it is easy & convenient to use & store.

Overall, it is well worth purchasing.

Like several other reviewers, I purchased this item to use at my standing desk. I have scoliosis and arthritis, so the best thing I can do (without spending $4000 on a TreadDesk) is a balance board at my standing desk.

I tried the Reebok Balance Board and it was terrible. The reebok board claims, "supports up to 300 pounds." It does not. I weigh 231 pounds-not small, that''s for sure. But, I''m certainly 70 pounds shy of the board''s purported limit. After only four hours, the board''s support structure failed.

I bought the j/fit board, and it is perfect. It is very sturdy and solid. The j/fit board is a bit more challenging also, because the fulcrum is perfectly spherical. Whereas the Reebok board''s fulcrum was flatter and easier to balance. So, not only is this board sturdier, it''s a better tool that provides a better workout. I''m very happy with the purchase.

This is a very sturdy balance board, very well made. It does what it''s supposed to do improve your balance. It''s also a great stress reliever since you can''t be worrying about something else and trying to balance at the same time. The platform is large with a non-slip grip on top. I haven''t had any problems with it to date. Delivery was prompt (as I recall from serveral months ago).
