I have been practicing yoga for 15 years and have been teaching for 5. I''ve used many yoga mats out there, from inexpensive to very expensive and I must say this mat compares with some of the best. It''s thick but not too thick or heavy and sticky so even when doing hot yoga I''m not sliding around. Well constructed so I know it will last (hate to throw my money away on something that won''t). Am planning on buying more to keep around the studio for students. Definitely recommend buying this if you''re just starting out and want your own mat or an old pro like me.

This compares well with another mat I have in terms of thickness and comfort, but I like this one because it is a little longer. I''m 6''3", and I wouldn''t go any shorter than this. It''s a little slippery at first, although they offer a rosin bag to help with this. The material has more of a memory foam effect than my other mat which I''d rather not have, but it''s not that big of a deal for me.

I bought this product for me and my wife to use for her new workout kick. I normally review only item that I am into to, but for the price I was blow away with what I got. My neighbor has a Gaiam mat she got at Dicks and paid 10 bucks more for and the mat feels cheaper and thinner than mine(maybe not the best they make). It seems that I got a great mat at a crazy price, my wife uses it daily(me less), but we both enjoy it for it''s tacky feel, and that it has just enough cushion without feeling soggy.

Not as sticky as I thought, hands still slip when doing downward dog. I do have sweaty palms and feet, although slipping is really an issue when sweating increases.

I ordered this product to use with P90X. A couple weeks in and so far so good, the mats are holding up pretty well except a couple very small spots on the end where the tread of my shoe has scratched a very small chunk out of the mat (this is the only reason I made it a 4 star instead of 5).

The mat is nice and long enough for me (6'' male), and width seems fine. All in all it''s thick enough for most things. I do get a little discomfort when on my sides and hips bone can feel the floor underneath the mat, but it is an exercise mat and not a pillow-top mattress so i would imagine this is par for the course. The cushioning feels kind of like a sticky version of memory foam, so it does a good job going back to it''s original form. I am using the mat on very low pile carpet, the kind you might find in a hotel hallway, and it does a good job staying put.

Bottom line, it does what you will need for P90X and yoga for under $30.
