Puma Time Faas 200 Grey Runner

PUMA Men''s PU911011003 FAAS Digital WatchExactly what I was looking for...everyday watch and a watch to use to track my running. Large numbers that are easy to see. Other than the length of the band, I''m not sure why this is a men''s watch, as the colors are more like a women''s watch, but I''m not complaining. I love it!

I really like this watch! I was a little fearful that it would look too masculine since it says it''s a men''s watch, but there is enough pink around the face to give it a girlie feel. The color combination is really nice, however the neon green tabs that hold down the buckle become a bit discolored with wear (not a big deal). Overall, I''m very pleased with my purchase.

Jerzees 973 8 oz 50/50 Sweatpants

Jerzees 50/50 Sweatpants - BLACK - X-LargeI was looking for some basic, no frills sweatpants to wear to the gym or around the house on those rare occasions when it gets cold in Houston, TX. After revewing a lot of sweatpants: with pockets, flared legs, stripes, hip hugger style (yikes!)and more, I finally found these. They are very comfortable and warm. They are of a medium weight with a draw-string waist and elastic at the ankles. In short, they''re perfect. I like them so much, I ordered another pair in a different color.

These sweat pants have elastic around the ankles and waist and they also have a string around the waist to adjust the fit. The color is outstanding and the material is lightweight yet durable.

I carefully checked the size in a pair of sweatpants from this company that i already have. I ordered the same size. When they arrived they are too tight. The company will only do exchanges. How do i know what size to order?

Everlast for Her Pilates Twist Board with Resistance Tubing

Everlast for Her Pilates Twist Board with Resistance TubingI workout while watching tv...my husband likes it more than me so we take turns. ;) It''s an easy fun workout, but I wouldn''t recommend it for someone that wants to see results quickly because you wouldn''t get them. Think of it as an additional helper to your other-more rigorous workout.

I''m 5''5" & 115 lbs and I do go to the gym and this mine does have resistance. I just jump on it for a minute and it gets my heart rate up. I also love it because you don''t have to set aside time to do it. You can jump on it at anytime, don''t need special clothes, shoes or gear. Leave it out where you see it & use it whenever you see it.

Try different ways of pulling the straps (the paper that comes with it doesn''t illustrate all the things you can do). Try holding your hands out, facing down & pull up this works the triceps (back of the arm that gets flabby even if your thin) as well as your abs!

I have a box where I keep exercise equiptment that the kids can use whenever they want without supervision. My fitness toy box. This twist board is a nice addition to the toy box. It is good for twisting. Use the resistance tubing for balance when twisting or for curls. The kids, 4 & 10, actually have fun trying to use it. It serves it''s purpose of giving me a good twisting exercise and inspiring the kids to use it. 5 Stars because it is inexpensive and totally usable by my family and me.

This is a great product. It really works on your core. I just started working out with a trainer and she had one and I thought it was a great workout if you do it correctly. She gave me a hint to find a spot on the wall and focus on that so you don''t end up twisting all the way around. Very easy, I do while watching tv.

It''s very effective and inexpensive, it works. You get a good workout when you use this Twist Board with Risistance Tubing. It''s great, you get an upper body workout while twisting. And you start seeing the difference almost immediately. I see my midsection shrinking and I''ve lost inches in just a few weeks of use.

10 Minute Solution

10 Minute SolutionI really like some of the fitness options that utilize the wii, however, this is not one. To begin, you can choose a quick start option, custom workouts, or set up your own fitness plan. I went to custom workouts which require you to go through a training session before you ''play''. Quite honestly, this is not a fun game--it is slow, my movements do not read well, and I never raised my heart rate, much less broke a sweat.

You do have some choice of aerobic games (which have nothing to do with cardio boxing) as well as some core work.

I am not impressed with this ''game''. I would rather work out with a fitness DVD; at least it would be more effective.

I was disappointed with this game. I thought it would be a better workout like EA sports active. The music is poor, the moves are slow and too much stopping between sessions. Gold''s Gym is a better cardio boxing and GG records your movements better than this does. Maybe after I use it more and get through all the workouts I will like it better, but right now it is a disappointment

The game doesn''t track well with your movements, making it frustrating to use. Spend a little more and get the EA Sports Active-More Workouts--which is well worth the cost.

Read Best Reviews of 10 Minute Solution Here

As most people know, 10 Minute Solution is a highly popular set of DVDs where you can start and finish a complete exercise routine in 10 minutes. The DVDs each feature an attractive fitness expert on a mat demonstrating different aerobic workouts to you, shouting out instructions and encouragement each step of the way.

I''ll start off by saying that fans of the DVD series expecting a similar experience may be a little disappointed. 10 Minute Solution for Wii seemed to eschew the formula that made the DVDs so popular. Instead of an intimate one-on-one training session with an instructor, it feels like the standard kind of Wii fitness game we''ve seen before, where you just perform a series of repetitious actions with your balance board or Wii remotes to on-screen cues.

As with many games, there is an on-screen "instructor" who''s mainly a shadowy figure in the background, not an active instructor as in the videos. You can choose from "male or female" voices and even "helpful or bossy", but at the end there''s not much personality, just the standard repetitious "way to go!" type encouragement endemic to these kinds of games.

So I suspect that most of the negative reviews here are from fans of the 10 Minute Workout series who were expecting more of the "personality" of the DVD series comes to through in the game.

But having said that, I''ll be focusing my review of the game strictly on its merits as a fitness and exercise game. And in this area, it is a very solid title.

Much like My Fitness Coach, you can select a male or female trainer, music from a set list of generic tunes, and the environment you''ll be working out in (you can choose from a Chinese courtyard, Venice, a Japanese tea garden, a beach, a middle eastern palance, and a gym). The graphics are very well done, and I appreciate the subtle details that help keep the exercise interesting (such as a plane flying outside the window of your gym).

There are basically two different varieties of exercises you can do with your virtual trainer: cardio boxing or step aerobics. For each, you can choose from six different workouts ranging from simple (one star) to advanced (three stars). You''ll find the one-star exercises are far too easy; you hardly break a sweat. On the other hand, when I did the three-star exercises, I got a great aerobic workout, complete with sweating, increased heartrate, and a great feeling afterwards.

There is also a category called "mixed games" which allows you to control your on-screen character in one of four sports simulations: volleyball, badminton, catching a frisbee, or fighting with pugil sticks. As with games like EA Sports Active and The Biggest Loser, you''re not really playing the sport itself--you''re performing a series of cardio boxing or step aerobic moves, and if you hit the moves precisely your on-screen character performs the sports task.

Each exercise is precisely 5 minutes each, so you basically put together your own 10 minute workout each day by choosing two exercises from the sixteen choices.

Until now, Wii Fit has been the one step aerobics title that uses the balance board. This is one area where this game shines. The three-star step aerobics has you doing lunges, squats, and fast-moving splits that are far more complex and a faster pace than in Wii Fit, and all clearly demonstrated with animated footprints on a small image of the balance board.

As far as the boxing, the game has you doing crosses, hooks, jabs, and uppercuts at a really quick pace. As with Gold''s Gym Cardio, a series of icons will scroll upwards, and you need to perform the boxing move when the icon hits a little square. But it surpasses it in a couple ways: the three-star routines can be much more intensive than anything Gold''s Gym has, and unlike Gold''s Gym the beat of the music actually matches your punching (what a concept!). I also like the fact that you can use two Wii remotes instead of a nunchuk--this makes your movements much, much more accurately. I''ve read that a lot of people are having trouble registering the moves, but as long as I''ve used two Wii remotes and made broad, exagerrated movements, I haven''t had a problem.

One of the things I like most about this game is its simplicity. A lot of other games try to stuff in a bunch of fillers and nonsense, such as recipes and dressing up the on-screen characters, all to justify a higher price tag. With 10 Minute Solution for Wii you have three choices from the startup screen: an instant workout (which picks a 5-minute workout for you randomly), a custom workout (where you can pick and choose two 5-minute workouts to make one 10-minute workout), and a fitness plan (where you can mix and match activities for each day of the week for anywhere from a 5-minute to a 30-minute workout each day). I applaud Activision for not being tempted to stuff gimmicks in, and for making the list price a very affordable $19.99.

Again, be sure to go in with the right expectations: it''s not like the DVD series, and it''s not a $59.99 game. As long as you don''t compare it to either of those, you have a pretty solid and very affordable Wii fitness game to add some variety to your workout routines.

NEW INFORMATION: I just learned that Activision has set up a YouTube channel at which features cover model and fitness guru Jessica Smith demonstrating the proper form for the types of exercises in the game. To me, this is what the game was missing. If you do get the game, watching these videos is highly recommended.

I was very excited when I saw the preview for this game... The price was right too. I popped it in and noticed the graphics are a bit well, cheap. I started my first work out of step aerobics and really enjoyed it. Then it moved on to cardio boxing. What a clunky, poorly made game. It barely recognized moves, and if you don''t do a move correctly during the demonstration it makes you do it over and over and over and over and over againuntil the game feels you''ve done it properly...which would be fine if I was actually doing the move incorrectlybut againthe game doesn''t recognize movement the way it should. I figured I would just do the step which is what I got it for anyway...yeah..how I wish.. It has a "squat" move in it which for whatever reason it doesn''t think I do it right, it''s a squat.. I''ve done it on the wii board, off the wii board..it doesn''t care..refuses to recognize that I''ve done it. I''m done with this game, It''s going on Ebay tomorrow. I''d rather do the boring step aerobic "class" & cardio boxing on EA Sports and Wii Fit Plus for 20 minutes.. the graphics, music and recognition is far better.

This game does have a lot of potential..they need to do a lot more work on it..

Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker

Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker, BlueI have had the original Fitbit for a couple of years, and I''ve always loved it. My ONLY complaint was having to turn on my computer to charge and synch it. In these days of tablets, I barely use my computer anymore, so it was irritating.

The Fitbit Zip solves these problems. No charging necessary except for changing out the battery now and then, and synching is awesome via Bluetooth straight to the Fitbit app on my iphone. No computer necessary now.

Do be aware that if you have been stationary for a while (watching TV for example), the Fitbit display goes to sleep, and synching may not work. But just tap the screen lightly and it will then wake up and synch.

Another thing I like, is that it isn''t even necessary to ever look at the Fitbit screen. I wear mine on my bra, so it can be inconvenient to check my data. But with the Zip, I don''t have to I just open the app on my phone, let it synch, and I have my information.

By the way I had no problems with the battery door. There is a little tool supplied with the Fitbit, and I suppose if you don''t use that you might break the tabs.

Well done, Fitbit.

(Updated Mar 7th 2013)

My life is 8+ hours on a desk every workday. I got a treadmill 6 months ago but find myself often with excuses not to stand on it but rather in front of the computer in my den most of the nights. I crossed shopped the Fitbit one and decided to buy a pair of this Fitbit Zip for me and wify two weeks ago. I got to say, this idea works wonders. Nothing motivates me better than keeping a little score of myself. Now I know I walk 4k~5k a day and I spend ~30 minutes everyday at home to walk that extra couple miles to get my 10k steps. Already lost 2 lbs. My wife hits almost 12k a day and I don''t know if I''m able to catch her soon.

Let me tell you why the Zip is perfect, rather than a pedometer, or the better Fitbit One model:

1. It IS a pedometer that is zero-maintenance! That is the single most important feature. It has no buttons and requires nothing from you other than keeping it on yourself. It auto-resets to zero at midnight and constantly syncs data online. Old school pedometers need to be reset and recorded manually, enough for lazy people like me to stay away.

2. It syncs with my iPhone 4s using the low-power Bluetooth 4.0 (by the way a very new, high-tech mode) about every 40 minutes or every time when I fire up the Fitbit app. Again nothing is needed from me. This single handedly beats all the Nike band, Jawbone Up or the old Fitbit where you need to plug in something to sync. One thing to note: the iPhone Fitbit app does not sync to the Fitbit Zip in the background by default, just remember to go into its settings and turn it on. When on, the app doesn''t need to be in the front. You don''t even see the Fitbit in the Bluetooth device list. Everything just works.

3. No charging cable. This is the key feature that makes me proud of my decision away from the Fitbit One. It''s just one less hassle to deal with, one less routine to remember to do. Being lazy as I am, I will probably forget to charge the Fitbit One''s rechargeable batteries every once in a while and grow excuse not to exercise. Again the CR2025 coin battery for the Zip lasts several months (not tested yet for obvious reasons but it''s still full after 2 weeks on mine) that''s basically forever in today''s tech gadget language. These batteries are $2 for a 5 pack on Amazon so cost isn''t an issue.

So all in all, Fitbit Zip is a glorified pedometer but one that can be clipped on and forgotten without any hassle of clicking, charging or syncing. It''s truly changed my lifestyle as a lazy person. Highly recommended.

Oh by the way, I don''t understand the negative reviews on the battery door: I opened and installed the battery on two Fitbit Zips within 3 minutes, using the provided tool (really a plastic quarter). No problem whatsoever. Could it be a bad batch of devices those people got?

March 7, 2013, update on battery life: it''s been exactly 4 months since beginning of December and one of our Fitbits shows the "Low Battery" sign today with a notification on the iphone as well. I looked up Fitbit''s website and this means it has 25% battery life left. A flashing battery sign will mean changing it immediately and I''ll wait till then to do it. This is after average use of 12k steps a day.

I remember the carefree days of the Tamogotchi, where a tiny LCD face told me about personal responsibility, and more importantly, the tragedy of neglect. Oh no, my tiny LCD creature is sickly, for I have forgotten to eliminate its foul, digital waste! Oh no, I have starved yet another ducklike beast near to death due to my incompetence as a plastic bauble owner.

The Fitbit Zip has many Tamogotchi-like qualities, with one major difference: when its simplified emoticon face shows disgust at you, it is because you have failed yourself.

Many a lazy Sunday have I woken up from a pleasing, decadent afternoon nap, to see the little guy judging me from his silicon throne: ":P" Oh god, I thought. I could have been wandering aimlessly around my house, probably between my couch and fridge.

And yet, post-workout, he feeds me his genuine, electronic glee at my activity: ":D" YES. Finally. The callous but potent validation that keeps me motivated to continue plodding through my otherwise dreary life.

Because I clip him to my bra strap, he is literally a demon that sits on my shoulder. One time, furious at his intercession in my otherwise sedentary lifestyle, I yelled, "Are you happy now, you little a**hole?" My boyfriend thought I was referring to him, and we had a fight. (-1 star.)

But seriously.

+ Good motivator, great online support.

+ I haven''t had the battery case problems reported elsewhere.

+ Convenient, and easy to remember to carry around.

Cat thinks it is a toy, sometimes steals it.

Registers steps accurately, but an hour of Zumba is disappointingly low compared to an hour of walking.

May cause internal strife at home.

I am new to Fitbit. My wife and I both picked them up and have been using them for a few days. So far I am happy with the product. It seems to log my steps accurately. I like the small size as its only about 50% larger than a quarter. This makes it extremely easy to wear and hide because after all I don''t want to advertise that I am wearing a very fancy pedometer.

The website and phone software are very well done. This is important as they are a big part of the product. I have an Android phone so my mobile app doesn''t sync with my Zip as of now but the feature is supposed to be on its way. Its really no issue as the sync software was easy to install and the USB dongle is easily left in the computer. My Zip just syncs automatically when I am near my computer and makes things quite convenient.

Battery Door:

I know there are many reviews about the door being fragile. I have not had this issue. I do notice that the color of the door doesn''t match the device very well. I am guessing that they may have addressed the issue with a new plastic. Please comment if your doors color is off and you have this issue.

"Touch Screen"

This one had me a little upset at first. I was trying to touch the screen to cycle the mode and had no success. The trick is it isn''t a touch screen device at all! This thing has a very accurate accelerometer in it. It is sensing a jolt not a touch. I have found a quick tap with a fingernail is the best way to cycle the modes. You can even just flick the side and it will cycle as well. This made the device usable don''t try to touch.

I am happy with the device/software. I can easily recommend this product to anyone looking to help them track progress or gain encouragement by competing with friends or earning badges.

I''ve been an on and off user of Fitbit''s gadgets for about four years now, and they''ve been really effective in motivating me to get outside and walk. For those unfamiliar with these wonderful trackers, Fitbit offers two options-the Fitbit Zip, a $60 LCD display tracker reminiscent of your latest Apple device that tracks steps, calories burned, and distance, or the Fitbit One, an all-in-one tracker that shows your steps, calories burned, stairs climbed, and can track your sleeping pattern through the included wrist band. Still available (surprisingly) is the good old Fitbit Ultra; the Ultra has the same features as the One, but is bit more prone to breaking (or so was my experience).

Fitbit also offers a free food tracking service when you buy any of its devices and I can happily report that it is very useful. You enter every bite of food or and sip of drink that passes your lips for the day and the program compares your calorie intake to the data your Fitbit device has collected to give you an allotted calorie amount for the day. When it''s used consistently, it''s a great tool, and Fitbit is working hard to improve their mobile app (it was previously nearly useless) and has added Bluetooth to the Zip and the One to synch with your iPhone or Android phone as you walk so you can see if that trip to the 99 is really worth it. You can choose from several programs to meet your goal weight. Easy, Kinda Hard, and Hard. They each demand varying amounts of calorie deficits from you-mix and match to find the program that suits you best.

Today I discovered, much to my horror, that I washed my Zip today because I had forgotten it was clipped to some jeans I wore over the weekend. I''ve killed no fewer than three Fitbit Ultra''s before so I sighed and prepared to dispose of my tiny buddy. To my happy surprise, I picked it up and was greeted with the Zip''s adorable LCD emoticon face that gets happier the more you exercise. It had survived! I can''t speak for the Fitbit One, but the Zip has a screw-on battery compartment on the back-the fact that it made it through a wash AND dry cycle is simply amazing to me. Maybe it''s a sign from the fitness gods that I need to get my butt off the computer and exercise more....

No matter how you slice it, the Fitbit is an affordable solution in the world of fitness trackers going for $150+. The trackers are cute and almost unnoticeable under a shirt so you won''t have to explain to your partner/family/coworkers what that wonky device you''re wearing is. If you use the nutrition service consistently I guarantee you will lose weight. The Zip''s LCD emoticon will make you smile after you''re kicking yourself for walking that last two miles, and the device itself has been beefed up to withstand some water and impact abuse.

PROS: Inexpensive. Tiny and well designed. Effective if used consistently.

CONS:Easy to lose, easy to wash! Difficult to remember to log your food over extended periods of time as device nor app remind you.

Body Champ BRM3600 Cardio Dual Trainer

Body Champ BRM3600 Cardio Dual TrainerI''m 5''11" This has a very short stride length that to me felt like shuffling my feet back and forth and I did not get a good workout. (I''ve since bought a $400 Gold''s Gym one that gets my HR to 140+ like at the gym, but this one I got about 90). Also, while main pieces are made of steel, the joints are poor, it wobbled and one piece broke on assembly when assembling, the seat pole did not fit into base, and upon trying to apply mild pressure to get it in, the interior plastic meant to hold the seat pole broke loose, went into the base and now prevents the seat from sliding any lower than the highest position. During very first use, the screw holding on the left arm (which I''m a guy and tightened well) fell off. I screwed it in again, this time about as hard as I could turn it, it was loose already during next use. I''m about 200 lbs and without question this thing also wobbles and has a wobbly feel. So to me the short stride length, weak joints and overall poor workout make this a no go. I was going to throw it out but I gave it to a friend who is 5''5" and she is ok with the stride length. Not that she says it is great, but she''s using it and it''s ok. So I''ve amended my review to 2 stars and I guess if you can''t afford $400 and are 5''5" or less you can get some kind of workout but I still would not recommend it. The $400 Gold''s Gym one gives a great workout and is so much more sturdy and quiet with no wobble it is far superior. I''d just highly recommend spending the extra money for that.

This machine is just a waste of precious money!!! Workout quality is very poor on this machine , strides are ridiculously short, and on mine, the arm kept coming loose with each pull that i had to stop frequently to tighten the knob/screw. I just had to return it before it caused me any more problems. I was really disappointed, Save your money!!

It is a very good value for the money. Pretty easy to put together. My only issue is that the seat doesn''t seem to lock into one position well. It rotates a bit. Even the very first setting is pretty difficult. You''ll get quite a work out.

Two worthwhile notes 1) Sometimes nuts and bolts are attached to a piece. If you can''t find a piece, check there. 2) If it is wobbly on carpet, get a thick piece of plywood to lay it on. A workout mat will cover the plywood.

Gold''s Gym Platinum Home Gym

Gold''s Gym Platinum Home GymBought this machine thinking it was a good quality machine. Buyer beware this is a piece of garbage. The cage is flimsy steel, and if you put on any more than two 45 lb plates on the machine the metal smith bars buckle and make pushing up the weight dangerous as you have to move your body unevenly to guide it back into a parallel position on the smtih rack. If I could get someone to take this piece of garbage back I would. This machine at best is worth about $300 dollars, and the headache to put it together is unbelievable. A few simple upgrades in the components of this machine, like a heavy steel roller bar for the smith carriage, linear bearings and a higher quality of steel would make it worth the money, but none of that comes with this junk.

The lat machine pull down as well is very hard to pull, and requires constant WD 40 on the pulley weight stack just to get it to work. I am yard saling it soon for $200 bucks and spending the extra 1-200 for a real machine!!!!

Stay away from this unless you only need to lift with a couple 25 lb weights on the machine. Then it is probably fine. But not worth the 750!!!!!

I bought this machine thinking that it would be of high quality. It shipped fast . I got it home and spent about 10 hours putting it together. Their were lots of parts to deal with but the instructions wher pretty good so for the most part the biuld wasnt that bad. The quality of this product is bad cheep frame work (dont over tighten the bolts you will crush the tubing). The slide rails for the press bar and the cable system are to small thy bow if you use the machine the way it is desinged for. The pullys bind up hew would make it where all the main pullys ride aginst each other .The peg deck is the same piss pore construction the left side moves decently but the right will pull in but have to push it back to its start position.

I could sit here and type a leter a mile long about the quality issues I have with this machine but dont have all day.

Bottom line I would have exspected more from a name like GOLDS GYM but this is nothing but junk...

golds gym should be ashamed of having there name on this product.for starters when a machine takes 6hours to put together its because it is a poor quality frame more screws and bolts for support due to light weight frame.

more importantly the smith machine the rails arenot straight up and down so it is not even close to being smooth it has a un natural feel it feel like it rubbing on something horrible.the bench wobbles in every position which is a great way to hurt your shoulder while benching.

the pec deck is ok if a woman is using it with light weights if you plan on using heavy weights on it the pec dec will be the first thing to break.

the precher curl wobbles just as much as the bench and the padding will not last very poor quality.the lat pull down is the only thing on the gym that i would rate satisfactory.they tried to make a multi function gym and failed miserably.

i got this as a gift from my wife who ment well it was purchased at sports authority luckly they give refunds when they came to take it appart they end up throwing it away because so many different screws and bolt sizes it is impossible to put back together.TRUST ME YOU DO NOT WANT THIS IN YOUR HOUSE IT IS COMPLETE GARBARGE WITH SO MANY HOME GYMS AVAILABLE PLEASE DO NOT PICK THIS ONE YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO.I WOULD GIVE THIS HOME GYM A NEGATIVE 5STARS.

I purchased one of these units last Christmas for my home in SC, where my father and step-mother reside. I ordered it so that I could replace the aging gym that my father had purchased some 20+ years ago. When it arrived in two boxes, I wasn''t sure how long it would take to get together, but between my dad, myself and my son, we got it together in about 12-15 hours over a two day period. My 73 year old father was, and is, very pleased with it, as was I, and now I have a new gym to work out when I at home. I was so pleased with it, in fact, that when I returned to my work residence in Virginia, I was looking to order one for the spare-bedroom converted to a gym in my rental house. But for some reason, they appeared to be out of stock or unavailable for about six months. Then about 2 months ago, Amazon informed me that they were in stock and ordered immediately. It was delievered about 2 weeks later, and I began building it immediately. Having already assembled one, I knew exactly where to begin and what preparations needed to be made. An additional bonus was that some of the "building" appeared to have been eliminated, with large items that had once been "pieces" wer now "pre-fabed" into one, much more solid piece. After about a total of 8-9 hours of work (not including the time taken to lube/grease/oil the pin/fly wheels and bolts upon which the pulley wheels would ride), I had the entire gym completed and it works perfectly. I had read the very "negative" reviews before I purchased the initial model, as well as the negative reviews that appeared prior to my purchase of the second unit. Unless I just "got lucky" (not likely), these negative reviews were completely unfounded. I am as critical as anyone; but my gut tells me that 1) if these people did not, in fact, put this unit together using a little common sense (i.e. addressing the pulley wheel friction issue by pre-greasing and lubing INSIDE the pully wheels as well as the outside, the supporting bolts and the glide rods), 2) follow directions by not tightening bolts to tightly on moving parts (pulley wheels, etc...) and 3) not tightening stationary parts until completing the directions as directed, then your performance IS probably going to suffer. I know it doesn''t say anything in the directions about using grease and oil on the inside metal of the pulley wheels, but that is where "common sense" comes in... basic physics and mechanics, friction... This is a great product, make no mistake. Between this, my biking and kayaking, no excuses for not getting harder and maintaining my strength. The vast design improvements make it easier to construct since last years version and I highly recommend this product! I am 100% satisfied with it... thanks ICON!!!

picking out the right workout machine is very tough. everyone needs or wants different things. also you have to compare the price too other similar gym''s and if its on sale.

with this home gym, you are getting so much with one machine for a very low price compared too real gym equipment. so dont compare too your gym''s smith machine!

for me this was the best choice and im happy with it. i have everything so i can do many many different exercises at my house instead of going too the gym and wasting gas and time.

took me 10 hours of easy instructions too get it up and working. please dont bend tubing by over tightening the bolts, thats in the instruction manual lol..... ( as other reviews had bent tubing)

about this product: this is for people who KNOW WHAT A SMITH MACHINE IS. (other reviews are people who did not know what a smith machine was) its an ANGLED SMITH MACHINE!!! 7 degree angle for a more natural lift. YES IT IS MORE NATURAL. with this angled smith machine you cannot go very heavy. around 250 lbs of weight. it recommends 310 on the barbell and rack. use it PROPER and it will work fine. you cant go crazy on it and bounce the bar like a regular lift.

the pulley system its self works after ADJUSTMENTS ARE MADE. ( other reviews did not adjust the pulleys) i use an air tool lubricant for the pulleys and NOT WD40!!! the lower pulley had a little tension on it so i made some adjustments and its fine now. the lower pulley does have limitations when standing up. the butterfly gets in the way and the cage is not as tall so the smith machine bar gets in the when when i back up a little. i can manage too use it the way i want it though. just have too have the right spot.

the high cable''s and lat pull down work very well.

the butterfly is a little difficult at first. the pulleys are connected so you have too by ready steady and even when using this. if one arm is faster than the other it will feel awkward.

i paid 740 with tax and im all set for a longe time. as you read this machine is not for idiots. please use common sense when using this machine and you will be pleased as well. also, you take care of the machine and the machine will take care of you!

New Balance Women''s Bodhi Pant

Anue Women''s Bodhi Pant, Dark Olive, MediumThese pants are very comfy and great for running. They do run lond and at 5''3", I had to get them hemmed.

These were very cute and I wish they had fit, but I am 5''10'''' and they were way too short. My friend purchased them from me and is very happy with them.

The color "Black" I''d call anthracite (coal), very dark gray. The leg is very wide, especially under the knee. On the New Balance site they say that they have "a slightly flared leg and slimming-effect" (not really) and are "Semi-fitted" (yes, they are comfortable). I am returning them even though they are very soft and I was attracted to the eco-friendly fabric.

Bosu 3D System Balance Trainer

Bosu 3D System Balance TrainerI have been kind of sick of my treadmill/free weight workouts so I decided to look for something new that was not expensive, quick and maybe even fun...ish!

So I found this Bosu trainer. I just finished the first workout and it was incredible...really good for working on balance, but you can hold on throughout! It works your core muscles without you having to do any crunches, situps or other ungodly manoever...I mean, I can feel my abs right now, but not in a bad way...just in a way that lets me know I exercised them. This thing does cardio, strength and you can also stretch on it...the DVD that''s included shows you how. For $114, I think this gives a lot of bang for the buck...and it feels very sturdy. Although it comes with a cheap pump, I had a bicycle pump that I blew it up with. So, for what it''s worth, I would highly recommend this.

We''ve looked at several of these models for awhile and finally settled on buying the Bosu 3D System Balance Trainer. Weighing in at 33lbs its more bulky then heavy. One thing for certain, its not going to be moved around a lot. After going through and deciphering the enclosed instruction manual, I felt a sigh of relief in knowing that my inventory of parts and hardware was complete. That said, I began the assembly process.

The first thing I noticed was that some of the screw holes located under the base were covered and could not be lined properly with the platform. I discovered that the rubber plates (used for vibration and weight distribution) were the culprit. No worries, I used a flathead screwdriver to pry the glue mounted plates and realigned them with the holes. I added just a dab of shop glue for extra measure. I did not run into any other problems with alignment. Total assembly time was about 20 minutes.

It goes without saying the included pump is worthless. I saved the valve head and tossed the rest of the unit. I used my portable compressor to inflate the ball. At 39" x 29" x 49" it does take up some real estate. We decided to place the Bosu Trainer in the corner of the garage in front of the tv/dvd player.

Once in place, the system works like a charm with no issues. Even the ball seems to hold up well and does not have to be filled as often. The ball is gym quality and should last a long time. The balance bar is steady and fully adjustable. The resistance trainer is mounted with comfortable hand grips and above average tubing.

For those new to Bosu, its not rocket science. Primarily it covers the basics for strengthening up and using targeted core muscle groups. The enclosed dvd offers a good basic workout program. The owners manual is packed with various work out programs, training tips, progression charts and of course, the assembly instructions. A separate nutrition and menu planning booklet is also enclosed with this system.

Even with its manufacturing issues, the quality of this particular model is above average. We are pleased with this unit and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a change up without gym membership fees. Its a low cost alternative to better health.

The Bosu Ball is a great training aid for developing balance and core strength. The addition of the base and support makes it much easier for someone without great balance to get started on the ball. I would happily have given it five stars if I hadn''t had to drill and file out the holes on the support brackets to make it fit. If my wife had wanted to put this together herself she could not have done so and would have had to sent it back.

The problem is in the location of the welded brackets. I understand the difficulty of doing the weld precisely, but clearly the manufacturer needs to improve their procedure. Until they do, I would not recommend anyone who is not prepared to do some non-trivial hole enlarging to buy the item as it must be just a matter of luck whether you get one that fits or one that doesn''t.

It''s a great package. Assembly wasn''t hard at all, and there are a lot of workout DVDs included. It''s surprising how intense the workout is I did the first cardio workout today and my heart was pounding after 15 minutes (in a good way). Perfect for anyone who wants to work out but isn''t a fan of gyms, especially in the winter when it''s no fun to jog or bike outside.

One drawback it''s not all that easy to store. I had hoped the 3D system would fold down or something similar to store away quickly, but that''s not the case. You can take off the top handles easily, but you''d still need a relatively large space to store the entire thing in. So, you may end up just leaving it fully assembled wherever you put it together. It''s not an eyesore exactly, but it''d be nice to have it disassemble a bit so it could fit under a bed or in a small space.

Overall, though, it''s a very good product and I think I''ll get more than my money''s worth out of it in exercise.

This Bosu in itself was used by my physical therapist because I needed help in regaining balance control. My walking was off balance due to a fall I had as well as a birth defect. She introduced me to this aparatus whic at first I was not confident that I could get on it and make it work with me. My PT then showed me how with er assistance. Pretty soon,I was on there and balancing myself just standing and quickly learned to balance myself without the support and spotting from my PT! I decided it would be a great way to practice at home and have a way to get exercise, too! After a few nights of web searching, I found this awesome deal with Amazon. It was to great of a deal to pass up! You will not find a better deal anywhere than Amazon for the Bosu 3 D System!

BULL WORKER FULL RANGE FITNESS TRAINING

BULL WORKER FULL RANGE FITNESS TRAININGI am 59 years old and I have been strength training regularly since I was 12. I have used almost all of the trainig systems including calesthentics, free weights, and weight machines. I have worked out in professional gyms and have had many home weight machines. I have heard so many good things about the Bullworker, so I decided to buy one. You can get a complete upper body workout with this device at any level from casual to extremely intense. You can concentrate on any upper body muscle group, or do a general workout. Even after 47 years of regular strenght training, I have obtained obvious gains in strength, definition, and muscle tone after only 4 weeks of regular Bullworker use. Even my friends have commented on my improvements.

This litte machine is unbelievably effective. Unlike a weight machine or fee weights, it takes almost no space. You can transition for one exercise to the next immediately because you don''t have to change the resistance settings or recongfigure the machine for a different exercise. It has been a long time since I have been so satisfied with a product!

Steve

Isometrics are an important component of a conditioning program. Studies have shown that isometrics, several times a week, can improve strength. Combat athletes should seek every advantage they can obtain. I got my first Bullworker in 1978. It lasted 10 good years before the spring gave out. I got my next one about 5 years ago. I use it with relative frequency as a supplement to weight training. I continue to be quite happy with the product. There are several strength isometric movements the Bullworker allows for, that are hard to replicate in other ways. It is an excellent, effective piece of equipment.

Bought an earlier version( this model is improved) of this back in the seventies and now have a collection of three. Am heavily involved in the internal martial arts and there is no better device(and I have quite an exotic collection) to help build upper body functional strength.I think others are catching on(it''s very hot in England)as a few years ago they were very difficult to find.

You can build lot of muscle and strength with bullworker if you religiously train three days a week with good protein diet. I build 16-inch biceps using bullworker alone. I would recommend to do all the exercise given in the manual than sticking to basic 7 exercise to gain muscle mass. This device strengthens stomach muscles that avoid pushing weak stomach muscles forward. I lost three inches on stomach using this device. The most important thing is after few days of training you get vibrant and healthy feeling. I am using it for more than 1 year so far I don''t see any wear and tear or squeaks. I got lot of tips and tricks from the free bullworker yahoo group.

This product is the ultimate portable gym. I owned an original model from the 1960''s and it finally wore out. In researching the redesign, it was done by the original inventor, Gert Kolbels, and was done so because one can now do many more exercises at different resistance than the original. My product was damaged in shipping and Hughes Marketing shipped a new one out 2nd day. It was nice to know it was insured by the company. It seems that the product can be crushed in shipping, just like any other product. It is not a reflection on the company, as they will ship UPS, DHL or USPS. I have called them and they were very curteous and helpful, right down to discussing exercises. They told me they have sold 1,000''s of units and there are sometimes and some people that are not happy no matter what; they want the older model which hasn''t been manufactured since 1980. The worldwide price for this product seems to be $100 and adjusting for inflation, it is pretty much priced at the same amount as it was 40 years ago. This is a great product capable of providing many exercises for strength and fitness without having to go to a gym. It travels anywhere you do. The company is prompt and will go the extra mile to make you happy if you give them the chance. This product has been around for over 40 years and it is obvious why... it works.

Badger Ladies Open Bottom Sweatpant

Badger Ladies Open Bottom Sweatpant S CharcoalI''m 5''7" and the legs are so long they wrap around the bottom of my feet like booties. That''s a little annoying, and I can''t wear them in public, but around the house they''re ok. In my opinion, they run a little small. I''m glad I bought 2x. They fit more like 1x, or size 18. They''re very thick and warm as well. Great for winter.

Scosche IPTM myTREK - Wireless Pulse Monitor

Scosche IPTM myTREK - Wireless Pulse Monitor
  • Work out from up to 33 ft away from your device.
  • Control music from the armband while you work out.
  • No bulky chest straps or wires.
  • Wirelessly connects to iPod or iPhone.
  • Audio prompts for real-time feedback while you work out.

My needs are fairly simple....I have tried (and liked) several of the Polar and Timex monitors that require chest straps. But this device is slick....especially becuase it links with an iphone app--and I was using the iphone for music on my workouts and/or for gps on outdoor walking, etc.

However, the Scosche Mytrek app is horrible....inconsistent, doesn''t work, requires my iphone to be rebooted, etc. But there is an app, Digifit, that recogizes the device and works great. I use it every day. Haven''t fully compared every feature of the two apps, but it''s kind of a moot point as my needs are pretty basic, and the Digifit works great, and works and plays well with other apps (especially when multitasking). Without the Digitfit app, I probably would rate the device a 1 rather than a 4.

Only downsides are that the device needs to be chaged between uses, and overall the iphone battery life is an issue when using this (and iphone criticism, not a Scosche criticism!) If you''re using the app, GPS, listening to music, occassionally surfing the net while working out, etc. it really runs the battery down quickly,

The hardware is good and measuring heart rate seems accurate; unfortunately, the MyTrek software is horrible.

There is an alternative compatible software, Digifit, mentioned on the Scosche website and mentioned in another review, which is excellent. Even though I had to pay a couple of bucks for Digifit, the combination makes it solid heart rate monitor solution for me.

I bought this device to help monitor my heart rate for my daily jogs. While the hardware itself is fairly adequate, the iPhone software is woefully lacking. After loading the Scosche app for the first time, the app promptly failed without warning and spontaneously quit. I rebooted my phone many times and paired/unpaired the device without success. The only workaround I found was to delete the app and reinstall it, which gave the app one more life until it went into a crazy crashing cycle all over again.

I''m giving the hardware 4 stars, and the overall package a 3 star rating because there''s a perfectly good workaround to these problems: Digifit. Digifit is a nice dashboard that aggregates workout data from a variety of sensors including pedometers and heart rate monitors. So far, I''ve been pretty happy with using the MyTrek band as a sensor and Digifit as the accompanying software solution.

I have been getting back into running for a while now and using the app Nike+ GPS. I got the Scosche myTREK because I liked the idea of getting more info than Nike+ GPS provides like my heart rate and calories burned. I must say this product is amazing. Scosche does a great job of providing everything you need in the box and then some, including 3 different size straps. The unit is small and you can barely feel it. The set up is very easy and the app is very easy to use. I found I was actually burning way more calories on my runs than Nike+ GPS was estimating. I highly recommend this great product!

Background:

I''m a technology guy who runs long distances. I wanted a heart-rate monitor to tell when I''m overheating in the summer. (It''s hard to monitor body temperature, but when you get too hot, your heartrate spikes). I had a Polar chest band system, which worked well but I really hated running with the tight chest band.

What this is:

It is an armband that goes on the thick part of your forearm NOT your wrist. It shines green light onto the hairless part of your arm and uses the reflection to determine when your heart beats. The device does NOT have a display. You need an iPhone to view your heartrate. The charger plugs into a USB slot it does NOT plug into a wall socket. It DOES use bluetooth to talk to your iPhone, so you don''t need to plug anything into your iPhone to make it work.

iPhone & App:

I have an old 3GS. I used the Digifit app, based on the recommendations here. The app ("Digifit iCardio Multi-sport Heart Rate...") is free, but it costs $3 to have it connect to the Scorsche myTREK.

Setup:

I had no problem charging the device. It connected easily to Digifit. It took a while to understand the armband there are two different straps included to fit different size forearms. I use the smaller one and it is almost too large. (And I''m a 200 lb. guy who boxes...) In Digifit, you want to press "Workout" NOT "Quick Start". "Workout" has the good features "Quick Start" is for people who didn''t pay $3. I did have to enable bluetooth on my iPhone. (I had disabled it to save battery.)

Experience:

Overall, it''s okay. It seems to take a while for the device to "lock on" to your actual heartrate. It often says 72 at startup, when my non-workout heartrate is less than that. After a while, it gets it right. I don''t think the software handles changing heartrates well, but it does get the steady ones right. The graph of heartrates when I went for a 10 mile run was what I expected.

The Digifit app has some problems. It claimed that my 10 mile run was 13 miles. When ran by the reservoir in Central Park, the app somehow thought I jumped to the opposite side of the water. And then jumped back again. There was another jump somewhere in the run, but I made two rounds of a loop and the app couldn''t show those loops on the map separately.

I don''t like that I have to get the phone out just to check my heartrate. It also takes 3-4 seconds for the phone to unlock and for the app to wake up. (It''s a 2 year old phone, but this is slower than any other app except the camera.) Given this and that the device takes time to "lock on to" a changed heart-rate, I''m not sure how useful for checking for extreme heart rates.

Using Digifit and the device does chew up phone battery. It used up 80% of my battery in 2hrs and 15 minutes.

One thing I did like about the Digifit app is that it recorded my max heartrate and shows all numbers as a percentage of that.

The armband is comfortable and light. I forget it is there when I''m running, which never happens with the Polar chest strap!

Conclusion:

If you want to track your average heartrate through a workout, and have an iPhone with you, and won''t go so long as to run out the battery on your iPhone, and don''t need to move your arms heavily, this is a comfortable solution. Much more pleasant than a chest strap.

I think it''s an okay "version 1.0". It has its faults, but it''s much more comfortable than a chest strap for runners, bikers, etc. I wish it had its own heartrate display. I wish it was better at calculating the current heartrate. I wish the Digifit app used less battery and handled distance better. These few things better would make a solid "version 2.0" product.
