Bridgedale Lo Socks

I''ve gotten a pair of Bridgedale''s Bamboo socks before and therefore was eager to get another pair or two of them for running and everyday use. The oldest pair that I have is still holding up well.

I was disappointed to see that this pair---along with another pair of Bamboo socks that I got in another color---both seem to be suffering from rather swift degeneration. Both of them are already developing small holes along the top surface of the sock. I got one pair sewn up, but the other one may need some attention soon. Not much I can do, as the idea of the "warranty" would not be worth me sending them back as shipping would eat up the cost of the sock.

Both my older pair of Bamboo socks, along with a pair of Speed Divas from Bridgedale, have been enduring fine. I don''t know what happened with the two pairs that I got, which I received in November 2010. Oh well. Maybe I''ll stick to the Speed Divas from now on....the guarantee is longer for those, which may mean they are better quality.

Why would I spend time to write a review about something as inconsequential as socks? Because these are pretty amazing socks.

I''ve always been on the lookout for socks that are rugged yet comfortable. Warming but not hot. Equally at home in a Pacific Northwest sandal or running shoes. Socks that don''t make my feet sweat and don''t retain foot odor. Socks that can stand up to untrimmed toe nails (eww!). And when I take off my shoes at a friend''s house, totally cool looking too!

Well these socks are all of that and more. You know those sweaters and cassettte tapes your girlfriends would fall in love with and steal from you in high school? Well these are just like that just tiny little sweaters for your feet.

These socks are rugged enough to last longer, wear better and look better than any other sock I''ve owned in decades. We even had to buy more since my wife steals them. I mean, the last time girls stole my clothes was in high school? High School! These socks are THAT awesome!

Sure you could say it''s the Bamboo they''re made with. But I think it''s magical Sock Fairy Dust. Whatever it is, buy them. And buy extras. I love the feel and fit of these socks. They were pricey, you can get a 3-pack of adidas socks for the price of one pair of the Bridgedales but the feel of the Bridgedales, especially after a few hours of wearing is way nicer, they still feel like you just put them on. They are a little thick for cycling, running/walking/hiking is perfect though.

They are ankle cut. Size chart is accurate. Lots of padding on soles and thing upper to release moisture. They probly work best in combination with a sandal of some sort. I plan to be using them in a high humidity environment, so antimicrobial materials are a plus.
