ADDENDUM 6.1.2011: Well it went 6 months+ but there is a stress fracture in the flexible neck; I have added the "manly repair" in the form of DUCT tape and hoping it holds till I figure out how to get a new one. This thing gets a workout, 5 days/week on average so I''m not shocked that this has happened. I will check back in and updat you on how my search goes. BPKD
UPDATE 6.5.11: Contacted Everlast and had a very good experience. They are shipping me a new "flex collar" gratis. You really can''t ask for more....the duct tape continues to hold up :) BPKDI was very skeptical of a free standing heavy bag. I have read horror stories of people hitting metal bars in the middle and others saying that theirs fell apart after a few uses. I found this to be not true in my case.
It took my wife and I a few trips back and forth from the sink filling ice tea pitchers to get the bottom nice and full. It is very simple to put together. I use this bag 4-5 days a week for 30-40 minutes each session. I recommend a good set of gloves and a couple sets of wraps. I also use a round timer and an exercise bike to make it a full workout.
I have had this product for nearly a month and highly recommend this bag to anyone looking to get a good solid heavy-bag workout at home. It holds up with any ceiling hanging bag I have ever used as far as quality of the workout. Though nothing can replace an actual heavy-bag this comes very close.

I wanted to get a good workout when not at the gym so I took a chance on this bag. It took me about 20 minutes with an electric screwdriver to assemble it. I chose to fill it with water versus sand to make it easier to move later. I have been using it with intensity and it is holding up well. Because water gives it less weight than sand it tends to migrate slightly across my satillo tile floor, but it does not harm the floor and I direct it back to the center of the room with some good workouts. I may get a gym grade grip mat to prevent the sliding, but it does not move alot. So far, quality is solid and its a great workout.Read Best Reviews of Everlast EverFlex Freestanding Heavy Bag (Black) Here
I have been a chinese martial arts and kickboxing practitioner for around 5 years now and I bought this bag to use at home for combo drills and workouts. I guess I should have seen it coming but the stand snapped just above the base during my second workout. I train to generate power which means I don''t tap the bag, I actually hit it. So if you plan to use the bag for anything other than basic cardio work, don''t bother.Want Everlast EverFlex Freestanding Heavy Bag (Black) Discount?
I''m writing this review because I want you to buy this product (if you''re looking for a punching bag of course). It''s worth the money and it works like a punching bag should. I wanted to start working out so I purchased Everlast Cardio Strike Punching bag and it wasn''t good. It got punctured and it was way too soft when I punched hard I hit the pole so I returned it and got this. I''m telling you this because if you''re looking for an Everlast punching bag with a price of around $100, you''re two options are either the Cardio Strike bag or this bag, and this bag is the obvious better choice. It''s heavy (filling the base to the top was hard and took a lot of time but you gotta do what you gotta do) which means it stands heavy punches, weighing about 230lb. when the base is filled, it might tip a little but certainly not scoot or get knocked down. The neck is flexible, and the padding is firm, and well made. Nevertheless, THIS BAG WORKS LIKE A GOOD PUNCHING BAG WOULD WORK, IT''S GOOD FOR PUNCHING. I''m happy with it and you will be if you buy it; cause I want the BEST for you. Really I do.
