STX Padded Lacrosse Goalie Pants

First i don''t play lacrosse, so i don''t know exactly what lacrosse players are looking for in pads. I do medieval reenactment fighting, which involves hitting people with and getting hit by people with sticks while wearing armor.

I bought these to wear under a pear of pants as armor. I intended to add plates to them which is why i got this pear, the pad compartments are open so you can take them out or put other things in the pockets for the pads.

I was hoping that the included pads would be sufficient so that i could use them (nervously) even before modifications. Unfortunatly the pads are just less than a cetimeter thick and not really sufficient to soften deliberate strikes to the legs (I was able to punch myself in the leg through the included pad hard enough to bruise myself) so i had to cut up a yoga mat and add that to the existing padding to make them substantial enough.

After the modifications I am very happy with them, they are light, they restrict movement very little and except where the pads are they breathe very well.
