Advantages: Good sized platform to accomodate different shoes or just wearing socks so the entire family can use the exercyle; easy and fast adjustments with the velcro straps; feet stay stable and secure in pedals even during 130+rpms spinning/cardio workouts.
Disadvantages: With the first set, the right pedal had rough bearings when new; it had to be constantly re-tightened after a few indoor training sessions and I ended up stripping the locknut. I replaced it with a generic nut but the bearings/race surfaces were already pitted so the right pedal became clunky again after a few sessions.
Overall: Bought another replacement set at a fair price from an Amazon vendor in 2010 and has worked smoothly right from the start. So far, no bearing adjustments are necessary. This set should last another few years of indoor spinning and power workouts.
