This type of ring isn''t as good as some others with the fiberglass(?) ring style as opposed to this which is foam. The handles here are just a change of fabric, not as clear inside/outside grips that make pilates style exercises so much more beneficial. The price is right though, better than the fiberglass styles. I prefer the other style, though this price was better ($15 as opposed to $25-30) and may not be bad to start with if price is an large factor in your buying decision.

I bought this product thinking it would be a good at-home option when I didn''t go to Pilates class. This version doesn''t offer half the resistance of a "real" fitness circle and therefore the workout you get from it is only subpar. I wish I would have spent the extra money to get a better circle and a better workout initially.

The ring very easy and comfortable to use and the associated video is a good introduction. The only negative is it is lightweight in terms of the resistance; would have like a more challenging ring. Great price from Amazon, $5 cheaper than at the Gaiam site.

I recenlty got the Giam Ball workout and loved it so I wanted to try this also. I am a 50 year old beginner to Pilates so I am not looking for anything too challenging beyond my abilities. I loved Ana Cabans dvds and wanted to continue with her instructions and workouts. I saw the reviews about the ring quality but wanted to take a chance because I really wanted the video. I just tried it out and I would say that it seems like a decpetively simple workout however I can really feel the areas where my muscles were worked and I am very pleased with it for me and my abilities at the present.

I do agree that the ring does seem rather flimsy and that is the reason I only give it 4 stars. I can already tell after one workout that I will eventually want to get something more stable and challenging in the future. But for now, this works perfectly and as long as I dont break it, I am very happy with the workout.

I have bought two of these rings and both have broken in less than 9 months of 2-3 times per week usage. It is not that I am incredibly strong, it''s just that the light-weight plastic construction is shoddy with a joint that will break if you put pressure in exactly the right (or wrong) place. GAIAM did replace the first one free, though I had to ship the broken one back which cost about 1/2 the price of a new ring. I''m not going to bother this time.

The ring is light and more comfortable on ankle bones than other rings, but I''ll be looking for another manufacturer for my next one.
