You have to have this for use with the Kinetic Rock and Roll Trainer. A fixed ring makes no sense and defeats the purpose of buying the Rock and Roll. Kudos to Kurt Kinetic of coming up with this design. I''ve been using it for three months. It''s solid, stable and doesn''t squeak.

When used with the rock an roll it needs to slide across the floor as well as turn. Rubber legglets came off on the rubber mat. Placing it on a plastic sheet and polished floors solved the problem.
