X-Bike

X-BikeYou get what you pay for... this thing is a piece of junk.

It lacks some stability, but that''s to be expected from a fold-up bike.

The components are made out of REALLY poor materials. Within the first 6-months the speedometer assembly inside the wheel broke and sheered off, jamming the bike. I took the bike apart and it was a failed rivet, fixed for $.25 of screw / nut combo.

A few months later, the right hand pedal assembly stripped and fell out. I made contact with the company that imports the bike (no easy feat) and was told they would send me a new pedal for $20. I said this should be warranty but they wouldn''t budge. I tapped out the center of the pedal stud, and installed a screw and washer to hold the pedal in place. The metal was so badly cast, it stripped out and failed with 10 mins.

I''m throwing this piece of crap out and buying something better.

Save yourself the aggravation, buy something else

I bought this bike 3 years ago for $149.99 when it was offered through Amazon as the vendor (not this current vendor) and it is still working fine. It folds vertically, and there is a metal pin you put in to keep it folded. I had a friend who accidentally sat on the folded bike, and a piece of plastic broke off somewhere. We looked everywhere but couldn''t find where it come off of, and the bike worked just fine still.

I don''t think this bike is meant for someone who is going to pound the heck out of it, pedal like they are in a cycling competition, but it is fine for those who want a good, moderate workout.

Pros: takes up small space when folded; ideal for an apartment

low noise level

comfortable (though I recommend getting a gel seat if you work out a lot)

pedals smoothly

Cons: Unless you have it up against a wall or in a corner when folded, it could tip easily if bumped hard enough

Not sure how accurate the calorie counter is, but all I care about is the timer and mileage
