Iron Core Bootcamp DVD

Iron Core Bootcamp DVDI have of all of Sarah Lurie''s Iron Core dvds which include volumes 1,2, and express dvds, plus her newest Iron Core Warrior 2-disc set. Iron Core Bootcamp just followed up on the heels of Iron Core Warrior as the newest one yet. This dvd is great! I find this one a little less intense than Warrior. Iron Core Warrior has very dynamic, intense exercises, where as with Iron Core Bootcamp, I felt like I could catch my breath a little better. However, don''t be fooled, this one will sneak up on you, and I was still sweating and breathing hard by the time I completed the whole workout. The dvd is about 30 minutes long and consists of 4 sets of 5 exercises performed and you will not put the kettlebell down until you''ve completed the 5 exercises. There is a 30 second break in between each set. The exercises are as follows: single leg deadlift/row combination, alternating clean, squat/snatch combo, tactical lunge, and finally alternating swing. The alternating swing is for a full minute, and the combos are 30 seconds on each side, so you are continuously moving for about 5 minutes each set. I like that Sarah starts off with a less intense first exercise in the set, so you get warmed up a little before she really gets going! The treat for me is the ab circuit after you complete the 4 sets of exercises. You will do no floor abs in this circuit as Sarah incorporates the tabata style training which is 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off of high intensity training. You will do all swings here starting with left arm swing, right arm swing, two arm swing, and alternating swing. So you swing the kettlebell with the left arm for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, swing the kettlebell with the right arm for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, and so on. The alternating swing at the end is repeated so you have a total of 5 sets of swings during the tabata protocal. This was really a great way to finish off the workout and so much more fun than boring ab floor exercises. I have no negatives about this dvd, I found the pace and intensity just right!

Just got my copy of Iron Core Boot Camp today and, as usual, Sarah Lurie does not disappoint! The circuits seem so simple that you think you won''t get a good workout but by the third circuit your heart is pumping and the sweat is pouring. And I only used a 15 pounder! The setting is simple so you can focus on her and her description of each move is very clear and easy to follow. My next purchase will definitely be the Iron Core Warrior set because I know I can count on a good full body workout with these DVD''s.

Another awesome workout from Sarah Lurie. By far the best and most challenging workout I have ever done. I will never do anything else. The results you see from this workout are amazing and you don''t have to spend hours in the gym. Can''t wait for the next video to be released.

I got a good workout with this DVD, however she demonstrates ONE routine, and does it FOUR times. I could have looked up a 5 minute routine on YouTube and played it four times, instead of spending close to $20 on this item.

I actually like this better than I expected. Although the exercises are limited, they are challenging with a heavy bell (I use 12kg). I particularly like the squat/snatch combo. However, I agree with another review that a time clock would have been helpful. Nevertheless, this DVD is great for days when I want to get an intense kettlebell routine in without completing one of my longer routines. Additionally, the video is chaptered well--I throw in the abdominal segment after one of my long cardio sessions with Amy Bento, just for fun :-). It''s an easy way to get in a few swings (at least 100) without doing the entire workout. Thumbs up!
