Initally we bought these mats to protect our flooring from our workout equipment banging it up...but it turns out they work well protecting kids from banging their heads against the floor too! We have two very active boys that are always jumping off of things and tackling each other. I think we would have had many emergency room visits if it wasn''t for these mats!
One downside is that they scuff up a bit easily...so if you are neurotic about things looking prestine then these might not suit your needs if you have kids playing on them as they tear and scuff. But for regular walking traffic, they would be fine.
I am very pleased with the appearance of these mats. I am ordering more because the light grey is really the only colour that will look nice where I am installing them. So far I''ve found them very comfortable as a surface for yoga and stretching--they provide just enough cushioning without being so thick as to interfere with stability or balance. That said, I do have my reservations about their quality. They do seem a little flimsy--I have a sense they may not last too long without starting to tear and gets dints. Time will tell; I will post again in a few months...

I put these squares in our basement exercise room. They are nice and soft and durable. I plan on ordering more to complete the rest of our fixed up basement. They look great.
