Cathe Friedrich''s Cross Train Xpress (6 workouts on 2 DVDs)

Cathe Friedrich''s Cross Train XpressCathe''s Cross train express is short, and gets the job done in record time. It has a 30 minute aerobic section in the front that is composed of either kickboxing, step, hi-lo, or a combination of all three. That is followed by a 10 to 15 minute section with weights focusing on a particular body part for the day, such as shoulders, biceps, back, etc. Four of the six workouts also include ab work at the end, which is challenging (planks anyone? ). There is also a separate ab workout that combines all the previous ab segments into one. The leg workout is one of the best leg workouts I have ever done, and the only workout that does not include an aerobic section (but it will leave you breathing heavy) and has a challenging ab section. This workout is expensive, but is very efficient and gets the job done. I highly recommend it.

I am a die hard fan of Cathe and her workouts. This is one of my favorites because of the variety in the workouts, you can mix and match the workouts, there is a workout for each day of the week, and she combins all the abs into one workout for seventh day of the week.

I love step aerobics and have been taking step since I was 12 years old and started teaching step and dance classes when I was 18. Now at 28 I am still stepping (at lease 2 days a week along with dancing and running) and Cathe helps me to continue to push my fitness level. When something gets too easy...I just add another step level!

I never get bored with Cathe and am always challenged by her combinations. Some people think her moves might be too complicated...if so then stick to more basic instructors like Kathe Smith. But if you want to go to the next level and REALLY get into tip top shape...look no further than Cathe Friedrich!

I''m a huge fan of Cathe Friedrich to begin with because of her many effective workout dvd''s, but the Cross Train Xpress series is perfect for someone (like myself) who likes a variety of workouts to stave off boredom as well as keep my body burning calories efficiently. Although these workouts are around an hour each, they are not easy by any means! These are advanced workouts and you continue to move from one thing to another quickly in order to keep your heart rate up. There are 6 workouts to choose from, each starting with approximately 30 minutes of cardio, then 15 minutes of working an upper body part (weight lifting), then into an ab workout. There''s a variety of step aerobics, kick boxing, intense cardio blasts and weight lifting circuits. The options are limitless with choosing specific chapters and the variety is terrific. I''m always exhausted at the end of each workout and the variety keeps me coming back to this dvd.

If you''re looking for a challenging and versatile workout that combines both cardio and weights, you will enjoy this DVD set. I must admit that personally I don''t like doing cardio and weights on the same day; I prefer doing intense weight work one day and intense cardio on another day. However, this workout is perfect if you''re short on time.

The 30 minute cardio sections are varied:

**Step Aerobics and Intervals

**All Step

**10-10-10 which is 10 minutes step, 10 minutes hi/lo and 10 minutes kickboxing

**Power Circuit

**Kickbox.

Each cardio section is followed by a 10-15 minute upper body work, as well as ab work.

There is a separate DVD for legs, Leaner Legs. Personally, I didn''t find this workout very challenging. Maybe I should try much heavier weights since most folks seem to like this workout.

There is also an Upper Body routine, which combines all upper body workouts, as well as an All Ab routine.

I recommend this DVD set to anyone craving workout variety, both with their cardio and their weight work.
