I purchased this item and even at a discount was skeptical due to the price. Don''t be a skeptic. You really do get what you pay for and in this case you won''t be let down. I have worn the shirt almost every day for over a month now (without washing) and it doesn''t smell at all. There is very very minimal piling and only happened after heavy abuse (worn under 60lb winter packback) The shirt still looks and feels brand new though. It keeps me warm when cold and cool when warm. Due to the keratin in mernio wool, just like skin it helps to regulate body temperature. I''m 6''2 188lbs and very fit and the large fits perfectly. I went ahead and purchased a multitude of other Icebreaker items after wearing this one.

Wool, especially merino is the best material available. It has been worn for thousands of years and is not man-made.

The design and color (mine is admiral) are immpecible as well as the zip collar and the thumbholes (huge plus). I can''t seem to find any reason why I would ever dislike the shirt. My girlfriend says it looks great. I wear it for all purposes too rather around town or when winter mountaineering in the Adirondacks.

I will always be a fan and rave about Icebreaker products. I first heard about the brand from reading reviews of hikers on the Appalachian trail, they and I can tell you It is worth every penny. I even recently read a backpacker review on the brand and it trumps smartwool, raab, and ibex.
