Valeo Push Up Bars (One Pair)

Valeo Push Up BarsWhat is needed in a push-up bar? The first thing that springs to mind is strength. While these bars are made of plastic, they have no problem holding up my 180 lbs. during the ridiculous number of push-ups in P90X.

Check.

What about comfort? The foam grips are surprisingly comfortable and durable for this price range, reminding me of the type on a pull-up bar, and the angle is well suited to natural movement.

Check.

Weight is another issue. I can use my hexagonal hand weights for push-ups, but they are too heavy to move around quickly when I want to change positions, including the small adjustments when my body slips around. These plastic hand weights are perfect in that regard, weighing almost nothing.

Okay, what else is left? Something that I had not even considered prior to purchasing: stability. To be portable (and they very much are), each bar comes in three pieces, which snap together, allowing them to all lie flat for packing. This leaves little hinge points, which can rock a bit and feels awkward.

Absence of check.

The simple fact is that a push-up bar is extremely cheap to make and not complicated in design. With that said, I have decided to give these an average (3-star) rating, but I do not want to discourage you from purchasing this pair. While I would gladly give up the small amount of portability gained by breaking these bars into pieces for stability, your priorities may lie elsewhere, making this is an ideal compromise. Regardless, this is a solid product for a reasonable price and I do not regret buying it.

They do their job and are sturdy despite being plastic. They can carry my weight (134 lbs). I guess they will be functional for many years.

One issue that I found negative is that somehow they hurt my hands while pushing up. Despite having a foam cover on the handle parts, somehow the plastic bar manages to hurt my hand (usually my right hand). I cannot opt out the possiblity that something is wrong with my hand though (maybe it is week and sensitive. Well, the bars are sturdier than my hands, that is true!)

Overall, a good option considering the price.

Even though these are made of plastic they are very durable and can support my 150lbs with no bending. They can be easily disassembled for travel/storage by pulling off the two legs from the handle no tools needed. The best feature is probably the angled handle bars which reduces stress on my wrists.

Nothing special about this product. They do what their supposed to help you do push ups. I think they are a good deal. I have had them for about a year. They are made of PVC type plastic and foam grips. I thought they looked cheap when I first got them. I suspect they will last a couple more years. Probably the foam grips will be the first thing to wear out.

I don''t know how you can give less than 5 stars for this extremely handy $ product. Yes they are plastic, and I was skeptic based on former reviews but listen the way these are designed, (which is smart via the angle) provide incredible resistance. If you are a lard ass tipping 250 lbs, don''t buy these, get the metal ones. But seriously these hold your weight no problem.

WHAT''S GREAT I just started a push up regimen, starting slow because I am definitely out of shape. My routine of 4 reps consisting only 20,15,10, and lastly 5 push ups (50 total) burns. With these push up bars, OMG I thought I was dead after 20. The extra posture, correct positioning, extra depth you get intensify your simple push up easily 2 fold.

I wish I discovered this type of product long ago. Oh BTW I did own a pair of those Perfect Pushups, the ones that spin. No good, that spinning factoring is the worst thing for your push up. Keep it simple with these.
