I was skeptical buying this resistance chair, but I can''t argue with the effects. I''ve nearly doubled my bench from 20lbs to 40lbs after using this incredible piece of equipment. My squat doubled as well as I can now stand up in one go at it rather than needing help from my cane. My pecs have exploded and all the ladies down B corridor (especially you Norene) have commented on how virile I''ve looked lately. I feel like I''m 66 again!

Pros:

-Easy to set up. If you''ve ever unfolded a folding chair, then you''ll have no trouble installing this in your home.

-Portability is great as well. Sometimes I even take it to bingo.

-Workout is intense. You''ll be ripped in no time.

Cons:

-I''ve missed a few numbers at bingo because I was so focused on getting the perfect pump on my biceps.

-Increased my spending on Viagra.

-Strained relationships because buddies are jealous of my increased need for Viagra.

The 5-star review by Mr. Over 80 Sex Appeal (who "doubled his bench press" from TWENTY pounds to FORTY pounds... ridiculously small numbers) says it all!!! This item USA joke! And for over $500 (with S&H) for a REFURBISHED unit????

Look at REAL cable resistance systems (with a strong range of resistance cables from very light to very heavy) from Lifeline, Bodylastics, and The Hook that are MUCH more portable, cost significantly (VERY significantly) less, also develop ALL muscle groups, and truly increase strength and fitness levels over the long haul.

Or while technically a spring-resistance system that uses cables -how about a Bullworker? Their newest system which includes a full-size Bullworker and a smaller unit called a Steel-Bow is absolutely excellent and extremely portable, does ALL of the above... and is carried by Amazon!

Or, if really conscious about finances, go to a Bicycle Shop and ask them to save you about four each of older (replaced) 24" and 25" and 26" rubber inner tubes. Then use them singly and/or in combination to duplicate these resistance cable exercises! If concerned about using used inner tubes, even new ones are only a few bucks. (I have used the used free ones, saving buying new ones for my Mountain Bike''s needs, for years with never an occasion of one failing. And that is with having the same ones for over 10 years now).

BTW, I believe in a multi-aspect approach to both my resistance training with a used Total Gym Pro, a barely used (much more rugged and heavy duty Bayou Fitness Total Trainer (even cheaper than the used TGP), 2 Lifeline Systems, a Bodylastics System, 2 old Bullworker units (and for Christmas the wife bought me the new Bullworker full system), extra (higher strength level) cables for Lifeline and Bodylastics and 12 +10 year old inner tubes. Not counting the wife''s gift, I was easily under $400 probably under $250 for that whole package.... And... that was spread out over about 4-5 years!!! Likewise with my aerobic / anaerobic training, I have a used (barely) resistance-adjustable stationary bike ($10 garage sale), a used (barely VERY rugged/high quality) resistance adjustable rowing machine ($20 garage sale), a (barely) used Elliptical Trainer ($15 garage sale), a new (Wife gift again) Urban Rebounder, and a "used twice" $4500 heavy duty treadmill free from an extended kin family member (just had to move it). When resistance training (twice a week) I rotate each session between systems. When doing aerobic/anaerobic training, I use ALL of the system (for a 60-90 minute workout), just randomly using different elements of those system (changing minutes spent on this or that item, adjusting different resistance levels, changing speed / incline / time on treadmill, etc.)

I am approaching mid 60s and this philosophy has worked well for me since I stopped iron weight training and jogging in early 50s.
