Amy Bento''s Advanced Step Challenge 2 DVD

Amy Bento''s Advanced Step Challenge 2 DVDThis DVD is more than just a step workout. There are also two 15 minute ab workouts, one with a resistance band and the other uses a kettlebell (this one is excellent). Additionally, there are several premixes of which two use strength training from Amy''s Slo Mo DVD alternated with step segments to create interval workouts. It is true that the choreography of the step combos is very complex and fast paced. Even if you have been stepping for a long time, if you haven''t done complex choreo this is very challenging. There is a tutorial to teach the most intricate moves, but it can still be quite overwhelming at first. Part of it is that Amy doesn''t cue step by step. She gives some of the moves specific names in the tutorial and then cues them in the routine. I found this not very helpful. However, if you have the patience to learn and repeat, eventually you will get it. When you do, this is superfun to do. The best way to do this is to add one combo at a time to other workouts and to improvise when you get lost (don''t just stand there, do jumping jacks until you can catch up). If you like Tap Less Step More, Christi Taylor or Seasun Zieger''s workouts you will like this too.

But I have been doing exercise DVD''s long enough that with a little work I can pick up the routine. This one is different, however. Amy give you no time whatsoever with her cuing. She says it as she does it and the routine is fast, fast, fast! It would take me weeks and weeks just to get past the first routine! She does give you a move master type of thing to teach you her moves but unfortunately there is just a limited selection of what she does, it is not complete. I love Amy Bento but I will probably never do this one!
