I''ll admit that I''m new to kettlebell workouts, but I will also admit that I am not new to knowing quality. As in the reviews for the Weider adjustable kettlebells, these are murder on your forearms, and rattle disconcertingly. I keep losing my concentration thinking one or more of these 3 pound weights is going to come loose, pounding onto my head. Here''s a thought I had in considering the construction once I got it home and out of the box: how many years do you think a traditional kettlebell will last (it''ll outlive all of us, likely), while this one has a limited and likely, short lifespan due to the flimsy-feeling plastic construction. You just know the adjustable lever part is going to break at some point, rendering the whole thing useless, until you find a use for the 3 pound weights like a doorstop or to hold down your helium balloons. Since Jillian is hawking anything and everything these days, I''m not convinced that she was that much of a stickler on ensuring her name went on something of quality.
I am not impressed and do not recommend these. I gave it 2 stars only because it is a creative concept. My bruised forearms will be carrying these back to Walmart, where they belong. For my money, I''d just as soon have a dependable, reliable, solidly constructed tool that will last probably longer than I even need it to. I''m just glad I bought it locally so I can return it easily.
These like adjustible dumb bells tend to be a bit large and clunky.
That being said they still may make sense for you. I was new to kettle bells and unsure what weight I would need. As I progressed the need changed regularly. Having the adjustible kettle bells allowed me to change at will. Each plate is three pounds so you can adjust easily in three pound increments. Unlike previous reviews I believe these to be soundly construsted. The interlocking mechinism is metal. With the plate in place and the lock in place there is no concern that a plate will slip out.
My biggest issue with these is the way they hit the forearm when doing overhead work. The top lip is a bit sharp. It really helps to keep the top plates in and remove weight from the bottom of the bell. In that way the top of the bell maintains a round shape against the arm. Also the use of wrist bands can be of great help.
All in all these have been a good choice for me as I am progressing up the weight scale. When I am consistantly doing 20+ pounds per arm then I will move to traditional kettle bells. Combine these with a good work out video like Kettleworx and you will do well.

I think this adjustable kettle bell is well made and easy to add/remove weights. It does rattle, but I don''t worry the weights will fall out as they are securely locked. I am new to using a kettle bell and I''m still trying to figure it out. The concept is great but the kettle bell hits my forearms any time I raise it up over my head, or have a bent elbow. I just can''t figure out how to swing it or lift it up to my chest without it slamming into my arm and bruising me. If you are new to the kettle bell, I''d recommend getting some kind of padded guard for your forearm.
Also, it came with a DVD, but it doesn''t play. I don''t want to pay to ship a 20lb kettle bell back just to get a new DVD. You might want to rely on buying a DVD separate from the kettle bell. I use Jililan''s Shred it With weights DVD.

Even though I read in some of the reviews that the kettlebell was causing some soreness on the arms, I went ahead and purchased it anyway because I liked the idea that it was adjustable and I thought I could minimize any injuries by just avoiding the overhead swing. Boy was I wrong! I had bruises on both arms just by doing the arm raises with the kettlebell "resting" on my forearm after one use! I ended up returning it. Luckily Amazon refunded my money and paid for return shipping! I would not recommend this product to anyone...beginners or experienced kettlebell users.

My husband bought me this kettle bell for Christmas. He thought an adjustable kettle bell was a good idea so that we could both use it. However, the edges where the plates slide in are sharp against the forearms when you do snatches and presses. We both have very bruised forearms from using this piece of equipment. Plus, it rattles annoyingly. The DVD is just a demo of the basic moves not a complete workout. I am going out to replace it with a 15 and 20 lb kettlebell.
I bought this specifically for the gym. It really looked good and felt good at first but only to shrink about 4 inches after the first wash. Now I am no longer able to wear it. as it is just too short. I was expecting a quality product but I guess I was wrong.
