Savasa Yoga Mate

Savasa Yoga MateAfter getting frustrated at my balled-up towels and heavy washing machine loads, I opted to try Savasa''s Yoga Mate. When it arrived I was so excited, it fits over the mat perfectly, and is light enough to carry without any stress. The first use was equally happy, the towel worked very well, though I was a little taken aback by its thinness and harsher cotton weaving.

It fit into the wash machine very nicely, and was not a burden on the load as a regular towel full of sweat would have been. But the problems started after the drying, when, despite using a low-heat cycle, the Yoga Mate shrank to near 75% of its original size--no longer fitting over the mat, and certainly not allowing for the wide-leg poses of the standing Bikram session.

I think I''ll go back to towels, sure they are wasteful, but they do work. The concept here is good, but the materials just aren''t up to snuff.

Ader Vinyl Kettlebell

Ader Vinyl KettlebellI love Ader kettlebells. I''m glad they decided to make a vinyl coated kettlebell. The handle on the Aders is just about the best there is. The handle is textured, but smooth, and the wider width makes it so comfortable for two hand swings. The spacing between the handle and the bell is perfect for cleans and snatches as the bell falls just where it needs to be. The kettlebell itself is sturdy and the vinyl coating protects it from damage and provides more of a cushion on your arm when it''s resting there. Highly recommend this kettlebell.

The handles are smooth (easy on the hands) and the vinyl covering helps to protect my floors.

I''m pleased with the purchase.

Accelerator Run Watch

Tech4o Men''s Accelerator Carbon Fitness - WatchI''m a recreational runner. This 2010 Accelerator has some unique features. First, without using GPS, it will rather accurately measures your distance and speed -and without the little thingie attached to your shoe! Doing a few 5K and 10K runs, it''s accurate with 5-10/100ths of a mile. In fact, the watch has a walk setting and a run setting, and you can do both, and it will still record very close to the correct distance.

The screens are rather intuitivejust press the Esc/Light button to get to any screen, then cycle through the screens with the two buttons on the right. Finally, you select what you want with the Mode button. What you cannot figure out, just call the 800 number and an employee will quickly and cheerfully talk you through what you need.

If you just walk for fitness, or like to go out running in new terrain, and want to know your distance (and your speed + lots of other information), for the price, this watch cannot be beat.

I spend hours agonizing over what watch to purchase, and eventually went with this one because it had the best reviews. However, most of them still didn''t tell me what I was wanting to know. Is this a good watch for someone training for a serious run? The answer I have found to be yes. A lot of people talked about it being too complicated, but I disagree. It is like an new piece of equipmentstudy the manual and follow it. You''ll be fine. Mess around with it until you feel comfortable navigating through the screens. Once you have calibrated it (to do this you do need to map out a running/walking route of .40 miles, the watch does not automatically stop once you have reached this distance. It is crucial that you are precise because this is how the watch tracks your distance from then on.) It is wonderful because you get to customize your display for while you are running/walking. Mine shows my calories burned, distance, and time into the exercise. There are several other options as well. I have found it to be pretty accurate distance wise. It is not designed to be worn for an all day pedometerit functions best when used during workouts. Can be worn just as a watch, and has a sleep mode for when you no longer need it to conserve battery. Overall a very good purchase for the money. Great watch for runners.

This watch is perfect for what I wanted/needed it for. I took up running and I needed a way to tell how many miles I had gone and also my time. I love too that I can see how many calories I have burned, and even can use it just as a basic pedometer. I don''t think I calibrated it correctly though, so I may need to refigure that, the directions on how to calibrate it were quite vague. All in all i think it''s a great watch for many people!

I wanted a very basic watch to track lap times for my exercise runs and 10Ks. I was intrigued by the watch''s accelerometer to measure distance. But mostly, I wanted something simple with a very clear display. I''ve had the watch for a little over a month and so far, it''s just average. The display is REALLY hard to read when you''re running since it''s a bubble instead of a flat screen. And it''s plastic so it can fog up. Not really happy about that. And the menu is very non-intuitive so you have to do more button pushes than normal just to move between the Time and Chrono features. All in all, I regret not buying a simpler Timex Ironman but I''m ok with this watch for the price ($48)

SPRI Bulk Tubing-25-Feet

SPRI Bulk Tubing 25-FeetThis arrived as advertised in one long piece that I can cut to suit my needs. Looks sturdy enough but nowhere on the packaging did it identify it as the name brand SPRI. Took a few days to ship but it did arrive in the time stated. Will see how it holds up in tropical weather.

Polar RS300X G1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Orange)

Polar RS300X G1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch with G1 GPS SensorI love this thing! The custom zones are great. Had my zones and VO2 levels tested at the gym and my trainer was able to set the watch to MY zones. This also allows me to see a more accurate calorie count.

A couple notes that didn''t keep me from giving it 5 stars, but just to keep in mind:

1. The orange is MUCH brighter than on my screen. Think, street construction cone orange. It''s much more neon orange.

2. The G1 GPS Sensor is AWESOME on most days. I recently ran with it on a very cloudy/rainy day and it completely lost track of the signal. I haven''t used the footpod, so can''t compare, but I may end up buying it for use on cloudy days.

I''m a beginner athlete when it comes to monitoring heart rate and calories burned... I bought this watch due to design and ease of use. My biggest disappointment stems from the fact that the watch and HR strap stop communicating while I''m exercising... so I lose the HR and the calorie count is off. The signal re-connects at different times but I end up losing part of the workout. I have the strap tight and positioned correctly, and always wet the sensor area prior to using. Not sure if this is a common problem with all monitors, but has been extrememly frustrating for me.

I bought this watch for my wwife. It''s a good watch if you can get over the color. It''s definitely not a fashion statement but it does measure heart rate and distances traveled accurately. The only flaw I have noticed is that it does not display the time of day while in exercise mode. I also use the footpod with this watch and it has been a great tool for the times I run on a treadmill.

I bought the RS300X HR monitor with the GPS sensor for my outdoor runs and I love it. The initial setup was quite simple although there are some features that I just left off such as the HR alarms because as soon as you are outside the HR zone the beeping becomes a distraction. Sometimes I want to be in a specific heart rate zone but for long runs is not always possible.

While running in trails you might actually run longer distances than what the RS300X records because the GPS will approximate the route using the closest readings available. So if you ran a curvy trail under trees cover the unit is going to estimate a straight line between the last reading before entering the covered area and the first reading after leaving the covered area.

This unit supports a single user profile so if you are planning to share it with your spouse or friend you would be required to change the user profile every time. In my case, I share my RS300X with my wife but because we are the same age I just don''t change the profile at all between uses. But I believe this would be a good feature for Polar to implement in the next generation of the RS300X HR monitor particularly for families that want to share the HR among its members.

Finally, it is true that the GPS sensor could go through a set of batteries in a week depending on how often you run and leave the unit working. I have noticed that with a set of new high quality alkaline batteries I can get around 12 to 15 hours of operation.

I''ve only had the watch a couple of weeks and so far so good. I''m a bit of a wimp, so getting the chest strap wet before putting it on is friggin'' cold. I''ve worn it swimming... awesome. Worn it running, the arm band GPS was not distracting or nuisance. Worn it biking on the trainer for heart rates, can''t wait till spring to get out on the roads and track my rides. Love the way you can change the display to show the info in the format that works best for you. I''ve not had any accuracy issues with distance and it hasn''t yet fallen off the grid from lack of connection. Of course, there aren''t many big trees on the mesas in Colorado to mess with it. There is an annoying alarm that goes off if you are above or below your target heart rates, but I can see that as a benefit.... I just need to find out how to turn that off, cuz it drives me crazy. Love the ORANGE color. It''s exciting to put on, and adds excitement to the workouts because I feel like I''m able to really hone in on my goals and know the results of my perceived output. I''m learning so much about my physiology and adding much more purpose and intent to each workout

ASICS Men''s Hooded Sweatshirt

ASICS Men''s Hooded Sweatshirt, Black, SmallNice quality sweatshirt. I''d call the material on the heavier side of medium weight. Not the heaviest that I have but definitely not one of the cheap, thin things. Hood is not lined, which I''d rather have, but for the price and given the quality otherwise I can live with it.

Main reason for leaving this review is to note that these appear to run LARGE. I usually go with a large for most hoodies but bought a medium given another review and price difference. Glad that I didn''t get the large! The medium is bigger than most large sizes that I''ve had.

Bottom line I''d buy another.

The Asics hooded sweatshirt has instantly made it to the top of my Sunday morning/afternoon wardrobe. It''s super comfortable. But it is HEAVY....which it should be since, duh, it''s a sweatshirt. I like the fact that Asics did not cheap out on the materials...don''t be fooled by those $10 fleece sweaters at Old Navy or those $25 NCAA/NFL hoodies you see everywhere. This one is different...it''s much, much better. The cotton is thicker and more dense, and the color does not fade after use.

Now, if I could just keep it away from my girlfriend and sisters...

Bought this on sale when it was only $15 and wasn''t expecting much. However, the quality of the hoodie is excellent and it''s very warm and comfortable. The one problem I had with it is that the sizes run a bit large. I was aiming for a more tighter/snug fit with this so I ordered an extra small but it''s easily a small and maybe even a medium compared to hoodies from a different brand. The length was perfect but it was very loose (I''m about 5''7" , 140 lbs to give you a general idea of the fit).

I''m very happy with these weights, they aren''t too light or too heavy. It''s a great addition to the wii for exercises. I don''t see why regular weights wouldn''t work though, if you could get them cheaper. There really isn''t anything that makes these specific to the wii that I''ve seen.

Sand filled ankle weights. They are 3 pound pair, or 1.5 pound each. They are short, so that the velcro fastener will be on part of your ankle as opposed to covering the weight. They also work on your wrists. Comfortable, unless the velcro fastener rubs your ankle. Wear socks, and don''t tighten too tight, but not too lose either or they will rub up and down while you wear them giving you rug burn. I actually was looking for some lighter ankle weights, but these will work okay. The seem on the velcro is not sewn with a stronger stitch, but a straight stitch. It did not come apart on the first use, but you can resew it with an box stitch with X pattern.

I purchased these Wii Ankle/Wrist Weights to use when doing ''Free Run'' and ''Free Step'' on the Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board. They''re a simple design with a single, highly adjustable Velcro strap that holds them securely in place. Just this little bit of extra weight on my wrists makes for a more rigorous workout, engaging my upper body more fully. I plan to purchase a second set so I can wear them on both my ankles and wrists.
