Casio Women''s LW24HB-2BV Illuminator Digital Watch

Casio Women''s LW24HB-2BV Illuminator Digital WatchThe Casio watch worked great until the the battery went dead within 3 months of purchasing it. This is the second time I have bought a Casio watch through Amazon only to have the batteries die within a year(with the cheap watches it is usually not worth the money to replace the battery). The batteries in the Casio watches I buy from the brick and mortar discount stores last years as opposed to months. I will not buy another watch through Amazon.

The seller was contacted about the short life of the batteries but they did not respond.

I like this watch. It is reasonable price. Although I still need to read the manual to change time for the first time, it is fairly easy. The watch is light and thin. Although the function of days count down is useless to me, other functions are good.

Mark Blanchard''s Progressive Power Yoga: Prenatal Pregnancy Routines

Mark Blanchard''s Progressive Power Yoga: Prenatal Pregnancy RoutinesIt is perhaps telling that the opening of this recording alternates shots of Blanchard doing extremely challenging yoga sutras with shots of his 3rd trimester wife doing slightly less fabulous poses - What a healthy ego this guy seems to have! Blanchard''s program is a 60 minute, challenging power yoga sequence only barely modified for pegnancy . In one rich moment, while he has the three women in flying pose, Blanchard cavalierly says something to the effect of "if you fall down, that''s OK, your kid''s going to take lots of falls in life." Could this be accurate (I don''t think so)? Basically, this is a power yoga work-out with only the barest of sensitivity to the limitations of pregnancy. Blanchard asks his 3 students to go from plank to low plank to upward dog and then back to downward dog with a push-up, a move which even his extremely fit and experienced wife seems not quite able to do. She can do the push-ups, it''s the upward dog that seems impossible (and which felt slightly dangerous to try). His coaching, which mostly involves his saying "nice!" and somewhat patronizingly calling the women "sweetie" or "honey" is minimal. A perfectly fine power yoga work out, but I''d say only for the very experienced and body-aware among us who will have to do their own modifications -and this from a reviewer who has practiced pretty intense power yoga two three times a week for 6 years.

I first did this DVD early in my pregnancy, when I was still doing my "regular" practice, and found it ok. It is not a very well organized or flowing workout and the instructor is not clear at all in directing the practice. I think it''s great that he has a true beginner in the video, but he could have gone over the routine with her at least once before filming. The poor girl was relegated to a rear position (behind a bush!) for the workout and clearly didn''t know what was going on.

It wasn''t my favorite DVD, so I haven''t done it in a while. I am now 30 weeks along, and just tried it again today. Wow. This felt nearly perilous at times. I have been religiously using Jennifer Wolfe''s DVD''s, with Rainbeau Mars'' ZenMama thrown in for variety, and the Crunch Yoga Mama when I don''t feel like going all-out. When I feel really lazy, or just want a relaxing stretch I do Prenatal Yoga, a Complete Home Practice. I now have learned the poses and modifications for pregnancy of which I was completely ignorant when I first did Mark Blanchard''s practice. He doesn''t even bother with cat/cow, squats, or (I suppose, understandably, since he''s a man) kegels. He asks his students to perform poses that everything I''ve read have advised specifically to avoid. He is insensitive to the fact that many of his students, including 2 on the DVD, are operating with a basketball belly. He has you do a series of stretches lying flat on your back, which, at least for me, was very uncomfortable/near painful for the lower back. The whole time I was doing this practice today, I was thinking I''d throw it in free with some maternity clothes I plan to sell on Ebay.

I am 8.5 months pregnant and have been practicing yoga for ten years. Throughout my pregnancy I have taken prenatal yoga classes and tried different videos. Annoying character aside, I was shocked by Mark Blanchford''s lack of empathy or understanding of pregnancy. It was so bad, it was almost like a bad joke that kept getting worse! The new student was totally left on her own. There was no instruction for how to properly breathe into poses or hold them, or how they might aid in alleviating some of discomfort of pregnancy or aid in delivery of the baby. Most appalling moment when he started leading the students into headstands. I would strongly discourage pregnant women from using this video.

My wife, who is in her 2nd trimester, picked this up recently. She has been doing yoga since her twenties, and is very experienced, but wanted instruction specifically for pregnancy. She didn''t find it here.

As the other reviewer noted, this workout is borderline appropriate for people in their 2nd or 3rd trimester. It is certainly not for beginners. My wife recommends that only advance practitioners use this video, not only because instruction/guidance is poor but also because the sequences are quite challenging. She noted there is no background music to help with creating a flow to the instruction, and that the individuals in the video are all over the place in terms of correctness of form and pacing. She also noted that the instructor is not a very skilled teacher and she was annoyed, as another reviewer noted, with his habitual use of "sweetie" and "honey."

Don''t waste your time on this there has to be better videos out there.

Everlast Nevatear® Heavy Bag

Everlast 100-Pound Nevatear Heavy BagI''ve had a few other 100lbs bags and different size heavybags. Everlast gives you the best for the price and a well constructed bag. Solid all the way from top to bottom, tall so you can use it for boxing, kickboxing, muay tai or any martial arts that''s for striking. The nevertear is easy to hit and has a overall good feel, you can hit it with mma gloves or boxing gloves to punch and not have a problem with soft or hard strikes. The same with kicks padding on the feet and shins or like myself no pads you can give it all the kicks you want without problems. Any striking works with this bag and it''s made to last the straps help to take impact. I could say that this is a great bag for anyone to use.

As advertised, no hassle.

Suggest a spring to reduce impact on hardware.

On time, in good shape.

The whole family likes it.

Very happy with purchase.

I don''t know why they are still selling this product. I got the first bag replaced and found that the replacement had the same problem. The sand bags and fillings are not distributed evenly. You might injure your hand or feet/shin if you hit the hard part at full force. You have to pay the shipping cost if you choose to return it. I asked for replacement and the second bag is still not working. I gave up because there is too much trouble to bring the heavy bag back and forth.

I purchased this item a while ago. The sand will sink to the bottom. I raised the bag higher so I will still get in a good workout without hitting soft bag. I recommend spending more money and getting more bang for your buck. I rated this three stars because it was so inexpensive. It has held up to the workout I have put in on it.

j/fit 5lb Neoprene Grip Dumbbell Weight

j/fit 5lb Neoprene Grip Dumbbell WeightThese weights are fine and a good price. The foam is soft these are def for running only they aren''t raised off the ground so they would be harder for floor work but the handles fit fairly well around the hand.

Here''s my problem there''s no consistency to the size of the product, which seems weird to me. I ordered one when I was just starting to get into lifting handweights at my desk so I wanted one to use for my triceps. Then as I got more into running I wanted another so I ordered another single one 6 months later it''s a completely different weight. The D-shape is the same, but the newer version is SO much thicker than the older one which, as a female with small-sized hands, makes it really awkward to hold. The color is also different, making them not a matching set. Wish I''d known that ahead of time and I would''ve ordered 2 in the first place since I liked the older version much better.

Showgirl Dance Pole Portable Kit Made By X-pole 45mm Xpole

Showgirl Dance Pole Portable Kit Made By X-pole 45mm XpoleI could have killed the UPS man he took FOREVER to deliver my pole. I ordered it on the 20th and it arrived the 26th. I know, not that long, but I REALLY wanted it. Anyways Set Up was a little difficult. I almost stripped two hex screws trying to get the loose. According to the instructions you turn this way to loosen and that way to tighten....Well they were wrong. Giving up I went to to You Tube. (My go to for everything) They had instructional videos by X-Pole people on how to set up the pole. DO NOT follow the instructions on paper. Go to youtube.com and save yourself some time. My ceiling is 7''9" and it said to just use to the two big pole pcs. If you can see at the bottom of the display picture there is a little screw pc she is tightening. That pc actually shows at the bottom of the pole depending on how far up you have to twist the pole to tighten it against the ceiling... included was a pc of white styrofoam/foam that you cut depending on how much you need to hide that... I know, no bueno. I added the small adjuster and only had to use about an inch of it vs like 6". The pole itself is great. My husband is about 200lbs and I made him spin on it before I did. I love it and with help from StudioVeena.com I''m good to go!!!!

I just received this pole and I absolutely love it. I almost didn''t believe the other reviews that stated just how sturdy this pole is. A little complicated to put together at first but once you figure it out it''s easy. I''m new to pole dancing (for fitness) and I will admit it is much harder than it looks. I haven''t been able to do any complicated tricks but the pole easily withstood my many very sloppy attempts to get to the top. I highly recommend this pole :)

I am very satisfied with the pole. I''ve been taking pole lessons for about 8 months, and have had this pole the entire time. When I''m not at the studio, this pole is great to practice on. It''s sturdy, easy to put up and take down (requires no tools, everything is included) and comes with different top pieces to fit to many different ceiling heights so someday if we move, my pole comes with me! I can spin, climb and invert with ease on it! -L. Hood

This is the first pole I''ve ever owned and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Fairly easy to install, and super easy to secure tot he floor and ceiling. It''s sturdy too. I''ve had 200 pound men up on it and it doesn''t budge. I really wish it had the option to SPIN (that''s why it loses a star), but other than that ... great pole!

Cap Barbell Unisex-adult Workouts Neoprene Dumbbell Set Black

Cap Barbell Unisex-adult Workouts Neoprene Dumbbell Set BlackI was looking for a good basic set of weights to start a Power90 program, and these looked very nice for a price 40% of comparable ones. I also liked the product shot showing these could be used to to pushups without bending my wrists at 90-degrees--a big deal to me because my wrists are pretty messed up from working with computers for so long. I''m not a fitness guru or anything so weights and fitness equipment are not my expertise, but here are my thoughts:

Initial Impressions: It''s boxed together pretty tightly inside a block of styrafoam. The weights are on top, and if you flip over the block of styrafoam, the disassembled storage rack is embedded in the bottom. While the weights come out easily, the rack was wedged so tightly I had to tear out parts of the styrafoam to get it out. I don''t know if that will be an issue if you have to return them, but be aware of it.

The weights appear quality made and look sharp. The neoprene coating is thick enough to feel comfortably spongy and the weight is printed neatly on the caps. The handles have a pill-shaped cross section about 1 1/8" tall that is a little thicker toward the top and fits neatly in my hand. Given the size of the handles, I think people with smaller hands wouldn''t have any trouble either.

The handles on the weights are nearer to the top of the triangular-shaped caps. Something I hadn''t considered before buying them is that with the handles off-center the weights are not evenly balanced. That probably won''t make a difference for some people, but for those with problem wrists, in certain positions you can really feel the strain from the weird leverage. You can adjust positions to minimize the problem (face the wider bottom of the caps toward your elbow) but be conscious of it before you buy. I wanted that triangular caps to help align my wrists during pushups, so it''s sort of a win/lose thing.

The rack is made of a mid-weight plastic. It''s not as heavy or stiff as I thought it would be, but it holds together tightly when assembled. While it appears to be made of about 3/8" stock, it''s actually only about 1/16" and punched out/extruded/molded to appear that thick and hold the weights safely. It does rock side to side when shook, but honestly I think it will last well enough for normal home use. There are no assembly or use instructions for the rack but it''s not rocket science to figure out. 3 short rods plug into the sides, and 6 silver wood screws hold it together (I had 7 screws included). The rods hold it tightly enough together it almost didn''t need the screws (use the screws!). There are 2 rods at bottom and 1 at top (you can see the top screw in the product photo). The rod at top I use to carry it with weights loaded on top, so it''s holding together well enough. Something to note is that the weights do not pull out of the rack freely with a weight loaded on a slot above--so if you''re pulling the 6lb weight, you have to remove the 2 and 4lb first or twist the handle firmly about 90 degrees and pull, pull, pull. From a design standpoint, it seeps like that should have been done a bit differently, but for the $19 I paid for the weights I really don''t care so much. Also worth noting is that when grabbing the weights from the rack, an average size adult male hand will scrape into the sides of the rack (especially while reaching for the 4 and 6lb). While the edges aren''t overly sharp, they aren''t exactly comfortable.

All in all, seems pretty nice for the price and has a good look to it that I don''t mind seeing against the wall in the family room. If the rack didn''t scrape my hands so much and the bottom weights were easier to draw from it I''d give it 5 stars. The weight seem great, but since I''m scoring it as a complete package I have to judge the rack too.

I''ll let you know how they work in practice when I start my fitness program.

Pros:

The price. It''s cheaper than the similar sets I viewed.

I like how the weights can also be used as push-up stands.

The black color. The pretty colorful ones look yucky after using them for a while.

Cons:

The bar uniting the weights isn''t round so gripping the weights the way I want to feels weird.

The quality of the stand is poor. It''s made out of cheap, thin plastic.

Overall I gave it four stars because my biggest priority was price. Though not perfect, it was the best I could find for that price.
