Smooth Fitness 7.1 HR Pro Power Folding Treadmill

Smooth Fitness 7.1 HR Pro Power Folding TreadmillThe Smooth Fitness 7.1 HR Pro treadmill is the best home treadmill I have ever seen. I bought it about 3 months ago and am extremely happy with it. It has all of the bells & whistles that the $5000 treadmills have for under $2000, and it''s just as tough as the more expensive ones. It is heavy, solid, accurate with its many readings and very sturdy.

I belonged to a health club to use their treadmills for the last 3 years. I finally decided to buy my own and did a lot of research before I bought one. I am happier than I ever thought I would be with this Smooth Fitness unit. I recommended it highly and give it the highest grades.

I started working out again at the end of 2006 after about a 6 year break. I started out lifting weights, gained about 5 pounds during my first month but then lost 10 pounds the following month. I started getting bored with the weight routines and decided to look at some cardio machines. I looked at elliptical trainers, steppers, cross country skiers and treadmills. I came across Smooth Fitness and found the product that I ultimately bought. The Smooth 7.1. After reviewing different machines on-line I was able to find several reviews about the Smooth Fitness products. Comparing several other models I found the 7.1 fit my needs quite well...on paper. Next I did a web search to find the best price. I was lucky to find that there was a special direct from the manufacturer for $1699 with free shipping. Great! But... the sale ended that day. So I had hurry to decide if I wanted to charge this purchase. (I generally do not like using credit cards for large purchases, I prefer cash or checks) Anyway, the price was good enough for me, so I bought it. About a week later I got a call from the shipping company to arrange for delivery. I had them set it up for the next day. Now, I was not home at the time of delivery but someone else was able to be there for the delivery. I got got a call telling me that it was delivered and was dropped off by the garage. I remembered that it was freight delivery and that they generally do not bring the items into the residence. I could not wait to get home from work. My idea was to get home, set the thing up and run a marathon. That was the thought anyway.

Well, I arrived home and there it was,an orchestra of angels accompanied by halos of light falling from heaven onto the treadmill box. Again, Great! SO I decided to move it into the house and set it up. YEAH RIGHT! You have to be sure to read everything before you actually click on that CONFIRM ORDER button. Things like shipping weight, number of boxes, and (freight delivery). Here''s the problem... "Freight delivery" to a man is like offering chocolate to a woman. The fact that it is there puts you in a completely different state of mind. Eventhough it is a BAD THING, you just can''t resist the allure.

Back to the point. Man, was this thing heavy! 1 box, 295 pounds! But thats not all. Oh No, not it, at all. The box was maybe 72" long, 3 1/2 feet wide and 16" tall! Figuring that after 3 months of working out I should now be in "top physical shape" and should be able to move it in my back door up 4 small steps and into my kitchen. RIGHT! After about an hour of time, a shirts worth of perspiration, use of every explicative that I could think of in English, Spanish, Italian, a few that I made up along the way, plus the knowledge that I would be very sore the next day, I managed to move the box from the garage door to the doorstep. OK time for a break! After about an hour of recovery time I decided that I did not want to leave the box outside so I decided to just do it. So, I went back out, opened the back door and got the box up to the top step. Whew! Only took 20 minutes that time! This thing is great! What a workout and I haven''t even taken it out of the box! The last part should be easy (or so I thought). Now, here is where logical thinking comes into play. As I realized that the angle of the 295 pound box, leaning at an angle up the 4 steps, was now such that the all of its weight was now directed to one end the bottom end, the end that I had to now lift up, up to the same level of the 4 steps, the 4 steps that I would have to get past in order to slide the box into the house, a thought entered my mind. WHy should I kill myself trying to lift this thing. Why not use leverage? Leverage, yes! The thing that separated men from beasts! Like inventing the wheel, the lever, a demontsration of man''s superiority and inventiveness. So, I got an 8'' long 2x6 and quick realized that I must have missed that class. Oh well, another advantage of being a human is knowiung when a plan just won''t work...back to brute force...back to inventions. After about 2 hours, several blocks of wood I was able to get the box to the level of the doorway. One final push and it was in the house. I am a beast! I moved a 300 pound box into the house by myself! (The side of my brain that said "but the garage door was only 6 feet from the back door, and you only had 4 steps to get past" was ignored by the superior part of my brain that was saying "I am a beast". Now my forearms were shot, I could not lift the bottle off of the shelf in the fridge, and I was beat so I rested...until the next morning when I got up for work. That afternoon I returned home with the same intention as the previous day. I got home, pushed the box into my living room and opened it up. Talk about one heavy duty piece of hardware. This thing was awesome! I''ll skip past the process of un-packing it. I would strongly recommend that you have an assistant for this too. The unit is quite heavy even after getting flat.

After I set it up, I turned it on and made sure it worked. It did. Great! As I said, I have been lifting weights for several months and after being able to move this monster into my house I decided to try out the target heart rate mode. I turned on the unit, put on the wireless heart rate chest strap, set the mode, and got on the treadmill. As the unit started, I was a bit disaapointed as I felt it lacked the power to adeqautely support my weight. After about a minute or so the speed increased and it seemed like to motor was better able to support me. WOW... This is pretty good. My heart rate was at about 102 bpm and rising. The the speed increased again? Cool! Pulse is now 110 bpm and the unit is at about 2 MPH not bad? Uhhh, what?? The speed just went faster. 2.5 MPH. That was quick? What do I know, I never thought about the speed at which one walks. Hmmm, the speed increased again? Heart rate is about 122 bpm and I have been on the thing for about 4 minutes. The speed is now 3 MPH. This is getting close to running speed. I feel it in my shins and calves. I wonder what my targer heart rate should be? I hope that I dodn''t miss a setting. Probably should have read the instructions. I am fairly tired already good workout. Another speed increase? Ummmm....This is fairly brisk 3.5 MPH. maybe I should try to run now? No, not quite running speed. Too fast to walk, too slow to run. Another increase? Uh oh?! Now I have to run....OK running is not as easy as I remember it. Yeah, very tiring. Man I thought I was in shape before this... THAT''S IT! I''M DONE. STOP, STOP OK press the stop button. Stopped. Whew! (For an instant humility sets in) (But only for a moment) I am pumped! Pulse rate is 136 BPM and my calves are killing me. Man does this beat lifting weights!

Back to earth, I decided to RTFM (Read the Manual). Well I found that My targer heart rate is (220 age) and that the unit was going to keep me running until my heart rate hot about 158 BPM. I decided to start off on a more basic setting. I opted for the distanse setting. My first real day I did .25 mile @ 2.5 MPH. The next day I did .5 @ 2.5MPH. I am up to about 5 miles at 3 MPH after about 2 weeks.

I have to say that I have seen a big improvement using the treadmill. Even my weight routines have improved. My endurance has increased greatly and while I am not able to run marathons, I will say that 3060 minutes a day has made a difference.

Positives:

The machine itself is great, the power is very smooth at any speed at 1 MPH or higher. It has almost no resistance or hesitation even for a 6'' tall 260 pound guy. I have been very impressed by this machine overall. It comes with a large LCD panel that is easy to read and program if you read the manual. This unit has wheels if you need to move it and the platform raises via a button on the front of the unit. The platform is long enough for me to run on without worrying about falling off. The frame feels like it is solid. It also comes with a lifetime waranty on the motor and frame and a 5 year waranty on everything else. As I said the motor is strong and feels powerful at normal speeds.

Negatives:

It is big and heavy. This unit has wheels but it is not easy to meve around. The platform is motorized and raises via a button on the front of the unit but it does not save on much space at all. It is more to assist you in moving the unit. The motor is very strong while running normally but in my case lags at

Bayou Fitness Total Trainer Pilates Pro Reformer Home Gym

Bayou Fitness Total Trainer Pilates Pro Reformer Home GymI looked around at several "Total Gym" type home gyms (including Total Gym) before purchasing the Total Trainer Pilates Pro. I purchased the Pro, as opposed to the basic Total Trainer Pilates because my husband is 6''3" and I wanted him to be able to use it if he cared to.

I chose to purchase the Total Trainer Pilate Pro because of the equipment included in the price, and the construction of the gym.

The gym is very solid, very easy to set up and you can get started on it within minutes of receiving it. It had a damaged end cap (which did not impact the use of the gym) when it arrived. I called Bayou Fitness and they immediately sent out a replacement. It also came with 2 VHS tapes and I don''t have a VHS machine set up. I contacted them again and they are sending out DVD''s instead no charge to me.

This gym is solid, fun and relaxing to use. I''ve already been experiencing a change in weight and firmness. The instruction book is easy to read and gets you started very quickly. Pad rolls smoothly on the tracks and there is no rattling of parts during the workout. The gym folds easily and rolls for storage. I keep the gym set up in my large family room and fold it up behind a couch if we have guests in our home.

The delivery box was a bit heavy for a woman to manage. So keep that in mind if you have steps and no one to help get it into the room you''ll have it set up in. Once it''s out of the box, you can just roll it around.

This is a great gym and Bayou Fitness has great customer service via phone or live chat online.

I bought this for my fiance and I to use. I have always had gym memberships in the past using mostly free weights, but now due to my hectic schedule, driving to a gym is not an option. I have owned a Total Gym in the past. The Total Gym is the one that Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley advertise on TV. Save yourself lots of money, don''t buy one of those. The quality of this machine over the Total Gym is unbelievable. You can''t compare the two, but I will anyway.

First let''s talk price. The Total Gym''s price is about $1800.00 the last time I checked. The Total Trainer has a cost of around $500.00. Now let''s talk quality. I am a big guy (usually hover around 260 pounds at 6 feet tall) so not only was my weight a concern, but also my height and whether I could get a full range of motion with the exercises. On the Total Gym, my movements on the machine were tricky, due to its lighter construction and its propensity to wobble when I was on it. Additionally, I could not get a full range of motion on several of the movements on the Total Gym. However on the Total Trainer, I have experienced no wobbles at all. This machine is rock solid. On the Total Trainer I am able to perform all of the exercises comfortably. The third thing to compare is the accessories that come with this machine. The Total Trainer includes many more, which would cost additional money for the Total Gym. Finally, exercising on this machine is fun. In fact the first day that I had it, I enjoyed it so much I did 2 complete workouts. I paid for that in aspercreme and Tylenol (don''t do that). For a person like me that enjoys power-lifting, but can''t get to the gym anymore, this machine is perfect. I can''t believe the level of workout that this machine gives me. I highly recommend it. My only complaint is that the machine does not have enough resistance for me on the bench press movements, or the squat movements. The machine also does not allow deadlift style movements to be performed. However, I am stronger than the typical person and if you are like me then you know that this machine will never totally replace a power rack and an Olympic bench (free weights), but still an excellent buy!!!! I really love this machine, and can get a full body workout on it. Thanks!!!

I''ve owned the Total Trainer Pilates Pro since June 2008 and workout on it 5 days a week for 45 minutes (I do the total body workout 2 sets of 12 reps each exercise, but YOU can workout however YOU choose).

I bought it because of the price compared to the Total Gym. What a HUGE price difference. The Total trainer comes with ALL the attachments you will ever need.....though I did buy the new double leg attachment and some Pilates hand and foot loops which are more comfortable, IMCPO, than the ankle straps and are much easier to use...just slip your feet into the foot loops and you''re ready to go. The Total Trainer Pilates also comes with all the Pilates attachments! How cool is THAT?! It''s very easy to switch between the Pilates and regular workout too. That''s a huge plus.

The Total Trainer is one well made piece of equipment! I have yet to have a problem with anything on it. It glides smoothly. The attachments attach in seconds and I use them all. It folds up extremely easily, though I leave mine out Monday-Friday and only fold it up for the weekend, but folding it up takes only seconds...literally, I promise!

This really is the best purchase I have ever made. I LOVE working out on the Total Trainer. It''s easy, fun and most importantly...IT WORKS! I have lost 30 LBS and am still going. It is so NOT boring. There are so many different exercises you can do it''s impossible to become bored with this machine.

If you''re in the market for a home gym, BUY THE TOTAL TRAINER. You won''t regret it.

I tried a $1500 Total Gym, and after that a $450 Total Trainer at a friends house. The Total Trainer was built much stronger than the Total Gym and it is much more versatile with all; kinds of attachments included in the price. You never get bored with this machine since there are 70 or so exercises without even getting into the Pilates. A fun way to get in shape..

The board has a much thicker pad on it than the Total Gym, and the entire machine is built better. The rails are bigger, the rollers are guaranteed for life as well as the pulleys and cords. I use it for about 25 minutes a day, 3 times a week and I am in the best shape I have ever been in.

ComfortBlend Youth Fleece Pant Ash X-Small Petite

Hanes Youth ComfortBlend Fleece Sweatpant- p450These seem thick and durable. They fit perfectly (size small for a 50lb-48inch tall five year-old). No complaint so far.

Typical low cost fleece pants, now bad seams, but lots of loose threads that needed to be trimmed or removed. Hopefully they will last the winter for my son, that is all they need to do.

Champion Rotating Straight Bar (20-Inch)

Champion Rotating Straight BarI understand that this bar is primarily marketed for use in a home gym. I am using it with a zip line. It works great. Very heavy duty. No complaints.

This straight bar is great! It''s made of metal and has a cool latch thingy on it and rubber nobs on the ends! Oh boy!

Beautyko Vibro Toning belt

Beautyko Vibro Toning beltI purchased this when I was in the U.S. last October. After using it less than 6 times the remote no longer worked so you can''t turn the belt off, the manual function is useless & it only vibrates at the highest level. There is no warranty included with the manual & when browsing the web to see if there was a place where it could be repaired...it appears the manufacturing company in China has declared bankruptcy. I now have a very expensive vibrating paperweight so beware.

Do not fall prey to reviews stating this item "stimulates" muscles! The ONLY way to stimulate muscles in through electrodes OR by actually exercising burning calories and FAT!!

I purchased this item... gave into Gene''s wonderful review of the item. I was so wrong. Once I received the product it would not turn on, eventually after 4 hours of toying with it while doing physics homework it just decided to turn on. The device even BURNT a wall socket out!! How CHEAP is that!? There is no WRONG way to plug this thing in! Literally sitting there watching the LED light on the AC adapter dim when the unit is turned on. If this thing need to consume so much power they could have provided a POWER PACK as you normally receive with your computer printers. Also, the threading where the strap, which goes around your waist, was so poorly knitted and just came apart... there were no more than a dozen threads to hold it in place.

I would NOT suggest this item to anyone... not only is it poorly constructed, it is also false advertisement. You want to loose weight or those handles you have to actually get out and run or go to the gym. However, it is a great personal masseuse!

I purchased this item from a vendor on Ebay. As another user has already posted the "threading where the strap, which goes around your waist, was so poorly knitted and just came apart... there were no more than a dozen threads to hold it in place". This came loose the first time I attempted to use the belt. You also have to leave it plugged in while running as it does not have a battery.

Asics Men''s Core Short Sleeve Tee

Asics Men''s Core Short Sleeve Tee, Blaze, SmallWhile I expected a running shirt, this was a pretty cheap quality and snagged way to easy. Lasted three wears and two washes.

I''m a man. I sweat and if it''s hot... I really sweat. These shirts cling to you like wet toilet paper. I was constantly pulling it off me at the gym. I ran outside with one and as long as there was a breeze the shirt will remain somewhat dry. My Asics shoes are great but I won''t be buying any more of these. If you sweat or run more than a few miles... I''d look elsewhere.

Crosscore War Machine Rotational Bodyweight Trainer

Crosscore War Machine Rotational Bodyweight TrainerWhile suspension trainers have been around for some time, it seems a new resurgence or marketing push has really made the TRX the top of the lot. I''ve worked with the TRX for years and after another has worn out I purchased the war machine.

It''s a little extra in price than the TRX, but definitely worth it in it''s versatility and durability. You can tell from the handles, clips, and contruction that it''s much stronger than the trx. Another major selling point of me personally is that it''s made in the USA. I always try to seek out US made exercise products as they do tend to be better quality.

There''s simply more you can do with the war machine vs other suspension trainers. With the rotating wheel it opens up more doors for creativity. What I also love are the carabine clips that hold the handles. This allows further options in being able to switch attachments.

In summary if you are investing in the BEST suspention trainer, the war machine is it. I also am a promoter of lifelines jungle gym in its simplicity.

I purchased the product from the manufacturer''s website with a military discount. The price was hefty, and I felt as though I was "going out on a limb." At the time I hadn''t any experience with the Cross-core. It''s expensive, and I don''t have a lot of money to throw around (this is part of the reason for my investment in a suspension system). Initially, upon receiving the product I questioned its value, and my own judgment.

Long story short, I love the product and am getting my money''s worth. The versatility of the product (provided by the pulley) is superior to alternative suspension training options. The pulley allows me to use weights other than my body.

I have yet to travel or deploy with the Cross-core. When I do, I do not foresee any problems. The entire package is light, and easy to set up.

I installed the single point anchor to my ceiling at home. My wife is "ok" with its low profile. Setting up the cross core only takes a minute or so, it is small and I''m able to hide it when I''m not using it.

The most common comparison, because it is the most widely known, is the TRX suspension system. The Cross-core blows the TRX out of the water with regard to variety. I strongly recommend the cross-core to anyone interested in suspension training, or maintaining a high level of personal fitness.
