Pearl Izumi Women''s Beakay Jersey

Pearl Izumi Women''s Beakay Jersey,Black,MediumI''m 5''8 and 140lbs and bought a medium and it fits good, wish it was a little longer but very warm.

Good looking top; color is just as pictured, but the fit is odd on me. Bulky on top, but snug from the waist down.

I ordered a Medium and at 5'' 4" and 145 pounds, 38C bust, 38" hips (All of my 5 other Pearl Izumi''s tops are Mediums and all have fit)

The kangaroo pockets in the front add bulk and flatter only the flattest of tummies, not my 32" waistline. It''s just as well, because the material may be too heavy and bulky for the mild Winter we are having in Northern California.

I returned it.

Armitron Men''s 408231ORBK Chronograph Black and Gray Resin Digital Sport Watch

Armitron Men''s 408231ORBK Chronograph Black and Gray Resin Digital Sport WatchThis watch is very cheap and anyone should expect too much about their performace. However I be surprised about its function in all the possible modes.Clear and big numbers in a super light watch. Perfect under water. An item that everybody should try.

I got a similar Armitron last year for Christmas that''s still going strong. My boys got me another one because I wanted something a little different and this one looks great. The only con is the watch face on last year''s watch scratches very easily. I expect this watch face to be the same. I wear them 16 hours a day in any setting. Good, inexpensive watches. You won''t regret buying this.

Really nice look with a big dial appearance. The random display above the time window is a little silly, but definitely a good looking, inexpensive watch.

Jari Love''s Get Ripped & Chiseled workout

Jari Love''s Get Ripped & Chiseled workoutGet Ripped! with Jari Love: Get Ripped & Chiseled This is a great workout for anyone who is serious about getting in shape. I highly recommend any of Jari''s DVD''s. Get Ripped 1000 is my favorite but I do them all to change it up. If you do her tapes 3 times a week as she suggests you WILL see results but you do have to work for them.

I''ve been doing this workout 2 3 times a week since I got it and it has been a lot of fun and I''m seeing a real difference in my muscles. The workout is challenging right from the start and by increasing the weights it gets harder and harder, and so are my muscles! It''s easy enough to do. I did need to purchase a step to do the workout on, an additional cost to this work out, but very much worthwhile. I asked for another Jeri tape for Christmas and will start that work out ''tomorrow''!

Giant Butt & Thigh Shaper

Giant Butt & Thigh ShaperLove this machine. It really works, makes you burn if you do it right. It was okay to assemble, I don''t like having to put anything together, but this wasn''t bad at all. It takes up a bit of floor space so make sure you''re ready for that. Its easy to switch between legs, just a peg to move...for the price its a good deal.

Training Mask Elevation High Altitude Mask for Athletes

Training Mask Elevation High Altitude Mask for Athletes - Condition Lungs Increase PerformanceI purchased this mask and it is everything that they claim it to be. But and there is a But if you spend 25 dollars on an "Isreali Civilian Gas Mask" you will get the exact same thing minus the yellow, orange and red plugs that screw into the NATO filter port. I contacted the company to find out the cost on replacment plugs and the CEO of the company said the plugs are 25 dollars a piece. The product works great but I would not buy it again. The same effect can be had for a lot cheaper. Try putting a piece of tape over the Nato Filter hole with a hole in it or just breath though a straw.

As far as performance it really does work when I was in the Marines we would go on runs with our gas masks on to limit breathing. This increases CO2 in the blood which stimulates homoglobin production...or something like that. This allows your body to use oxygen more efficiently.

First of all, the air we breathe at sea level is approximately 20.9% Oxygen, 78.9% Nitrogen , a combined amount just under 0.97% Argon and C02 with the remainder being small amounts of other gases. As you ascend in altitude the air becomes thinner with the troposphere''s constituents decreasing proportionately ,resulting in a Hypoxic or oxygen deficient air supply.

Hypoxia is a state occurring in humans where there is insufficient oxygen supply to meet demand. Being the wondrous machine it is, the body makes changes and adaptations in order to meet the demand placed upon it starting with increased heart rate, frequency and depth of breathing, vasodilation and increased capillarization to better carry oxygenated blood , pulmonary arterial vasoconstriction directing blood flow to the gas exchange site (the alveoli) , increased VO2max, mitochondria efficiency, power output and energy production plus a signalled increase in natural EPO production in the kidneys.

There are 3 levels of altitude as identified by the International Society for Mountain Medicine with the oxygen content decreasing as ascension in altitude is made. For example, if you were in the town of Eldoret, Kenya, home of world champion long distance runners, you will find yourself at 2400m above sea level with an atmospheric oxygen content of around 14.5%. As you ascend in altitude your blood oxygen saturation (SaO2%) drops with the hypoxic response occurring, however products like these masks will not cause your SaO2% to drop to the levels associated with high altitude training even under the most intense exercise as there is no alteration to the amount of oxygen passing through the mask and into your lungs.

It doesn''t take a medical degree to know that if you''re at sea level, breathing sea level air (20.9% oxygen) through a restrictive device, the air coming through it and available to you is still going to be of 20.9% oxygen content. So how do products like this simulate altitude training as they claim?

Quite simply, they don''t.

Which brings me to the point of what they actually do. Products like these are essentially diaphragm training devices. As they force you to draw deeper breaths you learn to use your diaphragm better whilst also building its strength as it works against the RESISTANCE CREATED BY THE FILTERS. That is all they do. Your oxygen processing will slightly improve with diaphragm training but only because of 1: retraining your breathing muscles by shifting focus from intercostal breathing to diaphragmatic and 2: the larger air volume you are able to take in with greater ease as a result of strengthening the diaphragm and using it in a controlled manner.

Buy Training Mask Elevation High Altitude Mask for Athletes Now

When I first saw this I was skeptical but after a few weeks of use I noticed an increase in my breath depth and quality. I have yet to know if it will actually do what it claims to do, allow me to train my body to work off lower oxygen levels, but I am looking forward to testing that theory out.

All in all this is a very cheap alternative to the actual high altitude trainer systems, the cheepest I have seen is a few thoudand dollars. Why not give it a shot if you were looking into trying to find an edge without spending excessive ammounts of money.

!!!UPDATE!!!

After a bit of use I found out this product is not to be taken lightly. You will starve yourself of oxygen when using this product so do not hesitate to take it off when you start to feel light headed and are seeing stars. That being said, I still stand by my earlier review but only to a point. I did not see any significant increase in lung capacity or for that matter any increase in my body''s ability to use oxygen more effeciently. There was an increase but not significant enough to be happy about it. I have done similar training with and without the mask for the same periods of time and have not seen enough of a change for the better to justify it''s use.

One of the best training aid I have come across, I felt results in one week only.

The mask comes with three color coded filters, each constricting the airflow differently; Yellow: easy, Orange: medium, Red: hard, with the less airflow.

Basically, what the mask does is make the muscle in your rib-cage work harder for air, making it much easier to breath in normal conditions.

My suggestion would be to start wearing the mask around the house for a while without exercising just to get used to it. After fifteen minutes or so, change the filter to an easier one and work out. When it gets too hard, switch to the easiest filter.

Basic work out: 1) walking around for fifteen to twenty minutes wearing the red filter.

2) work out with the orange filter, if it becomes too hard, switch to the yellow. Go back to the orange to cool down after exercising. When you finally take the mask off: ecstasy !

Perfect to scare your neighbors when running with it on at night !

Perfect if you want to look like an S&M deviant.

My buddy has one of these masks, they work great to strengthen your diaphragm and force you to control your breathing, but for $100?!?!? I was able to duplicate the mask by simply using an Israeli Civilian gas mask that can be found on Amazon for $25, I was able to make the fittings using a 1 1/4 PVC plugs which I baked in a toaster oven for 10min at 350degrees and drilling some holes in them.... Its the same thing...

Balazs Combo Gloves

Balazs Combo Gloves - Yellow - 16 oz.I do not recommend these gloves for serious boxers, they are safe for fitness purposes like light heavy bag work. They are fine for focus mitts and double end bags. The 16oz would be fine for sparring if you wrap your hands well.

Pro''s

Top notch quality & craftsmanship, they truly fit like a glove, the lining is the nicest out of the 6 different brands of gloves I''ve owned. The leather & the color of the yellow, & white gloves are the sharpest looking I''ve seen.

Con''s

Weak wrist support, this is why I do not recommend them for serious heavy bag workouts, & full contact sparring. They have a very short cuff this is why they should be considered fitness gloves.

These are excellent gloves at a great price.

I bought the 10 oz. size. At first I was worried that it may not fit well since my hands are a bit small, but when I got them the fit was no problem. The leather is durable, and the padding is perfect for my purposes training on the bag and with focus mitts. The wristrap holds the glove very securely. I love the bright color (I bought yellow!) as well.

The only downside for me is I wish they were a bit more flexible, which is why I gave this glove 4 rather than 5 stars.

Bella Cotton Spandex Yoga & Workout Pants. 810

Bella Cotton Spandex Yoga & Workout Pants. 810 - X-Large - Deep HeatherThese yoga pants are so comfortable. I bought them to wear around the house as lounge pants. I sometimes sleep in them too. Soft and comfy, not binding anywhere. Hold their shape really well, even after sleeping in them. No stretched-out bagging or sagging. The only reason for 4 stars is because these pants are really long. I''m 5''6" and most average sizes fit my length. These seem to be about 3" too long. I wear them just at home. I would buy again if I could get them a little shorter so I could wear them out of the house.

I''m wearing them now and I am going to order more. I am 5''9 and have wide hips and a narrow waist and they fit great and feel great. I already did some stretching in them and am so pleased to find this product that works for my body type.

I just got these pants in the mail and they are fantastic! The shipping was great and i got them on the delivery estimate day. I am 17 years old and am 5ft 11in tall and they were surprisingly long enough for me. I have never been able to find a pair of pants long enough because i have narrow hips, a shorter torso, and very long legs. These pants are fantastic though, they are not too long and they fit like a glove. i lack a butt so these yoga pants almost make it look like i have one. All in all i thought these pants were fantastic and would recommend them to any girl that has long legs and want pants that are comfortable and long enough!

I''m 5''6, 115 pounds. I have a hard time finding yoga pants that are long enough, in smaller sizes. These fit the bill... they are long enough. They are warm, but not super heavy. Reason for the loss of one star, they fade rather bad when you wash them. Other than that... they are wonderful, I''ve had them for sometime now, and besides the fading, you would think they were brand new.

Susan Chung''s RapidFire: Results DVD

Susan Chung''s RapidFire: Results DVDThere are a lot of things I like about this workout and DVD. Susan does an excellent job with cueing. This is one of my first experiences with a kickboxing DVD (I''ve done a lot of aero/tone interval DVDs but nothing purely kickboxing), and I caught on very easily. However that doesn''t mean that the moves were repetitive or a lot of the same old, same old. Susan''s instruction made it so I always knew what was coming next and how many reps to expect. But unlike many workout DVDs she didn''t stop and go through a slow, excessively long explanation that interfered with the flow of the workout. All of the sections start with a basic move that she gradually builds upon with more intense combos. This sequencing is great for a couple of reasons. The basic moves give you a chance to catch your breath from the last round, and it makes it hard to get lost or left behind.

You can expect to see all of your favorite kickboxing moves, and the drills and weight sections make this DVD stand out. Drills are provide a nice change of pace and really elevate your heartrate They are higher impact, intense cardio moves that are not strictly kickboxing and include plyometrics.

Another awesome thing about this DVD are the premixes. The variety here allows you to do this DVD a couple of days in the same week without worrying about repeating moves or over/under working muscle groups. I also love how I can chose to do weights on days when I feel like weights and pure cardio for days when I just want to sweat. Here is a description of the premixes:

Full workout (73 minutes): includes 4 kickboxing rounds and 4 drills, a metabolic weight segment that targets the upper body (requires 4-6 lb handweights)

Full workout remixed (see above, this just switches the sections around so you do, combo 1, drill 1, weights/shoulders, combo 2, drill 2, weights/biceps, combo 3, drill 3, weights/triceps, combo 4, drill 4, weights/back)

Cardio explosion (55 min): combos 1, 2, 3, 4, drills 1, 2, 3, 4

Flashfire mix 1 (49 min): combo 1, drill 3, weights/back, combo 2, drill 4, weights/shoulders

Flashfire mix 2 (44 min): combo 3, drill 1, weights/biceps, combo 4, drill 2, weights/triceps

Metabolic burn (35 min): entire weights section

Blazing mix 1 (53 min): Combo 1, combo 3, drill 1, drill 3, entire weights section

Blazing mix 2 (55 min): combo 2, combo 4, drill 2, drill 4, entire weights section

Cardio burn (64 min): Combo 1, 2, 3, 4, entire weight section

All fired up (45 min): Drill 1, 2, 3, 4, entire weight section

Every option starts with a warm-up that does a really nice job of getting you set up. It includes basic punches, knees, kicks, squats, lunges, and stretches. They all end with an abs section and cooldown. The abs segment uses a handweight or medicine ball and works your abs and obliques with creative moves. I have a very strong core and still felt the effects!

I haven''t tried Susan''s other RapidFire DVD, but I am planning on buying it based on my experience with this one.

This is an advance workout that has options to modify the rounds at any point down to basic or intermediate levels if you need time to learn the routine or work into her rounds gradually. It is heart pumping with great variety and unique combos to keep your mind in the workout! Her coaching throughout is strong with excellent timing of cues. The premixes offer great options; each varies in length. There is an option to use each of the 6 rounds without her editing. Boredom is not an issue with so many options. Besides building core and lean muscle, this workout has incredible endurance sequences. I workout at home with a wide variety of DVDs. I need new challenges to keep myself motivated and toned. This is my first Susan Chung DVD and I will definitely seek out more of her workouts!

Women''s Road Runner Sports High Five Pocket 5" Short

Women''s Road Runner Sports High Five Pocket 5'' Short, Color:Black, MI bought two pairs of these shorts from road runner. They are awesome. two large zipper pockets on the side, two large in the back and the small key size in the waistband. I normally wear a medium easily but had to go to a large as they seemed a bit tight through the butt and waist. I do however prefer running shorts looser than most. My samsung galaxy III phone in its otterbox case fits easily in one side pocket and I have even managed to get a bottle of water in the other. I wear them over compression shorts when cycling also....love them...

I bought these shorts awhile agoo -when they came I thought they will not fit.

but I finally tried them on and they are ok-the waist is very low-so my muffin top

falls over -but since I already own them and really needed shorts I have started wearing

them.

they are nice the fabic good but for an old lady I need the waist to be a bit higher I dont

mind below the waist but ...

the length is okay and if you plan to wear a longer top and do not mind being reminded of your

waist -they are okay

I guess styles change..

I ordered 2 of these shirts. I love them both. The sleeves are nice and long, and the shirt is true to size and quite warm. I''ve taken to wear them outside of exercising. My only complaint is the lint balls that happen after rubbing/friction from the sleeves on the hips. Nothing a lint shaver can''t take of I guess.

Gold''s Gym: 36" Circuit Trainer Mini Trampoline

Gold''s Gym: 36'' Circuit Trainer Mini TrampolineI purchased it last week for the sole purpose of sprint interval training, in order to augment the range of hip flexion that I shall continue to get from sprinting on a treadmill. This mini-trampoline has a 36½" O.D. round tubular frame, a 30½" dia web, and (30) stretch-elastic straps. In comparison, I already owned a ''BodyFit by Sports Authority'' mini-trampoline (discontinued), which has a 47" O.D. square tubular frame, a 38" dia web, and (38) steel coil springs.

You must understand the HUGE difference between a larger diameter, more robust design utilizing steel coil springs and a smaller diameter, flimsy design relying on stretch-elastic straps. The former provides far greater rebound, far greater load capacity, and far greater life than the latter. So why would I ever want a smaller, flimsier piece of equipment than I already own? My exercise sessions occur in my basement, where headroom is quite limited. So I use a trampoline for sprinting only, because trampoline sprinting does not require ceiling height much greater than my standing height. Furthermore, for sprinting, you really don''t need or want much in the way of rebound. What you really want for sprinting is shock absorption, plus just enough elasticity to restore the soles of your feet to frame level. Those two trampoline reactions must sync with your "running" movements, which requires damping. During trampoline "running" your leg muscles provide most of that damping, which is unneeded during true, natural running. But this product''s elastomer-bearing straps relieve some of that burden by molecularly providing a small degree of damping. Conversely any trampoline utilizing steel coil springs will lack such damping capacity. So sprinting on this unit feels remarkably smoother than sprinting on a larger unit having coil springs. Also, stretch-elastic straps are silent, whereas metal springs are noisy. I despise the monotony of any mechanical sound that syncs with the rythym of my exercise, which is all too common in fitness equipment. Not a problem with this little gem!

Keep in mind than any exercise that entails rebounding is an aerobic exercise. This is evident in the many rebounding video clips available on YouTube, which show lecturing demonstrators. So if you wish to do a workout of greater cardio-respiratory intensity (causing continuous speech to be impossible), you must do something else. On ANY trampoline, that something else must be an exercise that emulates running, not rebounding. For demonstration of trampoline sprinting see video at You Tube: How To Do Fat Killer Cardio On A Trampoline

So don''t get the wrong idea from my review that larger models having steel coil springs are generally unsatisfactory for "running". They all should work reasonably well for "running", but unless you weigh more than 300 lbs, that expectation should be inferior to this unit; from the standpoints of both biomechanics and noise abatement.

I briefly bounced on it, and found it to have such minimal rebound as to be USELESS for any of those fun exercises that most ordinary users want mini-trampolines for. With only a slight hop, my 185 lb gross weight causes it to "bottom out". Not only does that result in an undesirable shock load to my knees and spine, but it doesn''t produce enough rebound to do anything other than jumping jacks. I imagine that a 100 lb user could do much better in this regard. However, I won''t even try continuing to bounce on it even for jumping jacks, as such abuse would certainly cause the (maxed out) stretch-elastic straps to fail in short order.

While on the subject of its stretch-elastic strap life I want to stress (pun) that this unit should always be kept folded while not in use. The reason why is because when elastomers are kept under constant tension, it GREATLY accelerates their aging. Fortunately though this mini-trampoline is so small that folding/unfolding is a snap for even the weakest users. It''s easier to fold/unfold the frame than it is to insert/remove its two locking pins. Despite its warning labels, it''s unfolded position is so solidly detented (like a toggle clamp) as to be more than adequate for sprinting purposes if the safety pins are left out.

I observed that when I sprint on it where it''s on a concrete floor, it tends to move laterally away from the original spot where it was placed. So I solved that problem by applying 100% silicone sealant onto the bottoms of its (6) feet in order to increase friction.

Electronic Console

It''s a nifty gadget that works quite well when bouncing, but fails to register when sprinting because the web deflections are too small for its sensor''s mechanical pickup arm. Its digital display is a bit too small to read if you want to check your elapsed time without pausing your exercise. Moreover, the console is apt to become damaged when frequently unfolding the frame. Considering those aspects, and that I already use a large digital displaying kitchen timer during exercise, I uninstalled the console and its mounting bracket.

Dual Elastic Resistance Tubes

I wasn''t the least bit interested in this feature when I bought this product... But guess what? I now plan to continue using it for rapid 30 sec intervals of what TheraBand (maker of such elastic tubes) calls "shoulder diagonal D2 flexion". Its a challenging exercise that took 3 days for my sorely neglected deltoid muscles to recover from.

Summary

I realized that it shouldn''t be compared against other mini-trampolines priced up to 10x as much. Otherwise, that would be tantamount to comparing a good low-budget movie to a large-budget blockbuster.

For rebounding, I estimate its maximum load rating to be only about 100 lbs, because the elastic elongation of its 30 stretch-elastic straps is quite minimal. Thus, it could be considered a very cost effective rebounder for children. For "running" (a function that it really excels at; probably better than any other trampoline), I recommend this unit for all users up to 300 lbs. Just remember to fold it after each use, so that you get maximum life out of its 30 stretch-elastic straps. And you can make that minor chore easier on yourself by leaving out its 2 safety locking pins, which are superfluous for "running".

Suunto M5 Heart Rate Monitor

Suunto M5 Men''s Heart Rate Monitor and Fitness Training WatchI ordered the black model M5 and was very pleased with the watch except that I found the negative display ( white numbers on black background ) to be very difficult to see at dusk or in any low light conditions. It is not nearly as bright as the product photos show except at high noon sun. If you exercise mostly during full sun, it''s very readable, in fact probably less glare than the white face. Consider your exercise venue before you order. Could be my eyes, but after searching other forums on negative faces, I''m not alone. I wound up exchanging the black face for 2 white face women''s M5s. I was concerned about the women''s band on my wrist, but it still fit with a hole or 2 to spare. Trinow fitness was very helpful and I got them next day. The watch bodies are the same, so if I really decide I want the man''s band, I''ll order one, but don''t see the need right now.

If you''re looking for a training aid to get you on track, this is it. I ordered the foot pod and bike pod and they both connected flawlessly and are pretty accurate when checked on a known distance. The chest strap is the most comfortable I have tried and it also links up quickly. We''ve been using them for about 3 weeks and so far I''m still very satisfied. We were hit or miss with our exercise routine, but the M5 takes the guesswork out and keeps you on track. You really need to maintain your heart rate at a training level for the correct amount of time to get a full workout, and the M5 has helped us do that. A big plus is all the devices use a user-replacable, common watch battery. Remember that Suunto is currenlty offering a free Movestick interface with the M5 & M4, so if you buy, log on to their site and print out the rebate form. Waiting on delivery of ours as of today 8/16/10. It allows you to upload and store your training logs. I''ll post a followup review in about a month.

UPDATE 1/28/11

I had to downgrade my review mainly because the software ( Movescount ) is pretty dismal when used with the M5. It''s mostly a social networking tool that misses even simple tools like plotting your current fitness position versus your goals. If you want to help Suunto design a Beta quality attempt at fitness software , you''ll love it. Not very intuitive.

Some points I have learned:

1. The foot POD and bike POD are fixed in their calibration with the M5. It''s close, but if you''re expecting a cycle computer , you''re out of luck.

2. The chest strap is the most comfortable I''ve worn and stays wirelessly connected to the watch pretty well.

3. If you should happen to fall off your excercise plan over a certain # of days, the watch will keep repeating the same day. Suunto''s way to fix it, reprogram it to a lower level and the restart at the bottom of the level you were at.

4. If you really need athlete quality reporting. This watch is not for you. It''s also not $500.

5. Still like the watch. It will keep you on track. For someone trying to get in cardio shape, it''s a good tool.

6. I paid $189 for mine. The price today is an indication that it''s not exactly flying off the shelves. I would wager you will see this watch settle in at about $125 or a little less.

7. The PC POD does connect flawlessly and tranfers data with no problem.

8. The standard watch battery is a good idea and battery life has been very good.

9. So.....Buy the watch and enjoy it, it has surely helped improve my cardio fitness. At present, don''t bother with the PC POD unless you like social networking more than fitness tracking.

This does everything I needed. Tracks HR, cals burned, time exercising... It will help you exercise by suggesting types of workouts for your goals.

Watch isn''t too big for my small frame, it''s comfortable to wear. The HR band is not uncomfortable.....I forget to take it off when I''m done b/c I don''t know it''s there. It is also compatible with the machines at the gym.

Would HIGHLY recommend this to all of my friends!!!

Buy Suunto M5 Heart Rate Monitor Now

I''ll start my review by saying I''ve never owned any other heart rate monitor...that being said...

I bought the monitor because I started a workout program to lose weight. I wanted to monitor my heart rate and improve my performance over time. I''ve owned it and worn it almost daily for the past two months. It''s been with me walking to work, at the gym, cycling, skiing, etc.

Here''s why I have mixed feelings. My biggest complaint is at times, it''s tough to get a good heart rate reading. I''ve tried applying water to the pads, lotion to the pads, gelly to the pads, and I''ve even followed the picture in the instruction pamphlet by putting the pads under running water before putting the chest belt on. When first starting out, trying to get an accurate and consistent heart rate can be a terrible experience. You end up loosening the belt, tightening the belt, moving the sensor up, moving the sensor down, etc. in order to get it to read on the watch. It''s not like you can start your workout when you want to if you want to use the monitor, you have to get the thing to pick up your heart rate accurately and consistently which leads to delays often 5 10 minutes of shuffling around to get things to work.

Sometimes the monitor is inconsistent in readings. I''ve had instances where the monitor will say my heart rate is 128 when I can manually feel it''s actually 64 (and I''m at rest). The dual pickups double up sometimes. At other times, when bending over, doing situps, weight lifting, etc., the sensors will stop picking up your heart rate and it appears, a calculation is done internally to guesstimate how many calories you''ve burned. It can be very frustrating.

The small complaints include the "hard to see in the dark" points others have made. The light on watch flashes when you press it I''m sure that''s to extend battery life. The online "community" that Suunto put together for keeping track of your fitness and goals leaves a bit to be desired. Sure there are "groups" you can join but there is no search functionality to find the groups you have to scroll down an International List.

I''ll probably keep using it until it dies, but I''m not sure I''d recommend it to a friend or buy another one.

I have been trying to get to lose weight by exercising. Typical first step... However, I have found that after you have consistently accomplished the first step, you are without a guide. I would like to lose weight and then I would like to increase my fitness level. With food limits in place I still saw no progress for 2 years, I was told that my heart rate monitor was not giving me real time results; thus, not guiding me properly to my weight loss goals. So, I researched heart rate monitors and found the market to be saturated with watches with perks. I work in the sports industry and know that the professional athletes use real time monitoring for fitness; however,I never believed I needed that kind of technology. WRONG! I bought a Suunto M5 women''s gold COMPUTER! I have lost 5 lbs while using my exercise suggestions and have never felt this confident about the results. I love my silent partner! I get advice, limits, encouragement and real time monitoring! Only drawback is my old routines required intervals... Needed interval timers ...but wait that routine did not work for me! Yay.... My watch was exactly what I needed.

M5 looks great and is light weight and fits my wrist well, the heart rate strap is more comfortable than others I have tried... Syncs with the exercise equipment at my local gym (no more holding on to the hear rate handles), sounds indicate if outside of my limits and indicates when I am 50% complete (so I can continue my exercise without stopping to check).

Only drawback... How to remove an exercise session in history if you accidentally started the exercise for the day. Other than that I do not want to be found without my Suunto M5. Best silent partner you can buy!

This is my first HRM, finally bought after researched for a few months and asked many opinion leaders. I bought this along with a Sigma PC9 for my mom who doesn''t need a coded transmitter. I have used this for 6 weeks now, with 3-5 uses a week. I initially wanted to get M2 because of the beautiful look, but as it doesn''t support foot pod, I had settled for this one. I bought the M5 running pack that comes with the foot pod and the Movestick. It was setup and paired with the chest strap and the pod pretty easy and quickly. No issues to get reading from both the chest strap and the pod in all the workouts I''ve done. In terms of accuracy, it spots on --> benchmarked with manual pulse reading.

With the help of this, I get motivated and in that last 6 weeks I turned from a person who have never ran a single bit, to be able to run 5km now.

There are cons of course, which I did not realize until now. But let me go through the pros first.

PROS:

1. The transmissions are coded that''s why it is more expensive than many cheaper HRM. This allows me to be able to train together with my friends who are using HRMs as well.

2. Very simple to use Just 3 buttons to operate. No lots of questions (unlike my mom''s Sigma PC9, where you have to answer 3-4 questions before you can stop/start).

3. Very large ''font size'', easy to read when you are running. Get the white face, BTW, it is very clear.

4. Has a backlight, easier for those who run in the evening or very early of the day.

5. Has a personal training (or virtual trainer) that motivates you to complete the plan for each day. It tells you to up or down the effort, with audible beeps.

6. Fitness Test is available (using Rockport Fitness Walking Test). Ya, I know it is a painful way to test your fitness, but at least it is available, and is useful for a beginner like me.

7. Movescount connection. It allows you to download the workout data into the movescount.com where you can review and save all your workout data. Another reviewer felt that this site is a complete waste of time/effort/cost, but it is very useful for me. For someone who cannot workout alone (I lose motivation/interest if I were to do this alone), I need this to keep connected to my gang of runner friends. We compare data, we motivate each other, and we compete with each other! Another kind of motivations. :)

8. Very comfortable chest strap. My mom''s Sigma PC9 could not pick up signal from her strap but could pick up my Suunto''s when my mom swapped with mine. It seems that the comfortable strap can wrap around the body''s curve better that allows better contact with skin, unlike those other plastic hard front piece in other brands. If you have a large upper tummy (like my mom), this would still hug around your chest comfortably and snuggly. I don''t have to tighten the strap too much. I actually let it loosely wrap around my chest, and it stays all the time, probably the silicon material holds on well to my skin. No need to feel suffocated by tight straps if you use Suunto''s, and in fact I always forget that I still have my strap (we usually go for breakfast right after the workout and I don''t feel anything foreign there!)

9. Battery is user-changeable. This is very important for me, as it is so inconvenient to send to the manufacturer for a change. Love this feature!

10. It is not too bulky as I had thought of a HRM. My wrist is only 5.5" in diameter, and the women wrist band fits my wrists perfectly. It is also very comfortable to put on wrist too.

CONS

1. I know that it doesn''t come with all those VO2 Max, Training Effect, EPOC measures (those are available in t-series), but I did not know that it doesn''t even show % in each workout range. Even my mom''s very cheap Sigma PC9 (less than $40) has these features. M5 only tells you the average HR, and max HR. It would be good if I can also know what % (or min) of my workout was in e.g. 120-140bmp, 140-160bpm, etc. This has bothered me a lot.

2. Foot pod cannot be calibrated. I had the impression when they don''t allow calibration, the accuracy should be quite good, but I was wrong. When I ran with my friend, we started together, ended together, for 1,600m (about 1 mile), I was short of 200m from her reading! We use the same model. I was told that in low speed the accuracy is quite far off, but the accuracy increase when speed increased.

3. It does not show Speed and Time/Timer together on screen. It shows 2 readings at the same time, with lots of combinations that you can toggle with the middle button. But they just don''t have this combination of Speed and Time/Timer. I need this because sometimes I wanted to keep to a pace when I''m on interval training for a period of time (e.g. 4x4min). I need to know both the pace and the duration, at the same time.

CONCLUSION

All in all, this is a very good basic function HRM for a beginner like me. But if you are looking for more features, go for the t-series. t6d is a good one. That would be my next HRM if I have the budget to upgrade. :)

Mizuno Low Rider Volleyball Short

Mizuno Low Rider Volleyball Short, Black, MediumThese are really comfortable volleyball shorts! They''re nice and tight, unlike a pair of asics shorts I have which are really lose and make you feel almost as if you''re not wearing shorts. They are also the right length. Some spandex shorts are really short as to show your butt after playing for a while, but these don''t. When pulled straight, they''re a couple inches long, but they also curl up after playing a little and moving around. I don''t mind that though, I like it when it curls up. Plus, all spandex volleyball shorts I''ve tried curl up anyway. It''s long enough that it doesn''t show your butt even when it curls up, and it''s short enough to make you look like a volleyball player rather than a cyclist or something.

When I need spandex I always get Mizuno, there nice and comfortable. I''ve used Mizuno since I was a freshman in high school, They are an awesome product!

Very nice, the seller described them just perfect. The arrived on time, actually they arrived sooner than expected. Would purchase from this seller again.

The shorts are low riding from the hips. If you want more coverage on the top, these would not be what you want. I am not saying these are super low, they are just low riding.

Definitely buying in more colors! Fit is awesome...I''ve been on a search for a pair of shorts I can wear for both running and volleyball that DON''T RIDE UP! I finally found them in these...I have short legs so length is just right. It''s short enough to elongate my legs and look like a pair of typical volleyball shorts (no granny shorts here!) but at the same time, my butt is NOT hanging out! I can wear these confidently to the gym or when I go running without constantly pulling my shorts down.

Speedo Women''s SD50626BX 150-Lap Polyurethane Strap Watch

Speedo Women''s SD50626BX 150-Lap Polyurethane Strap WatchI bought this watch in 2010 and read the reviews. One had stated that the watch came unbuckled but I choose to ignore this warning. Well it is 2011 and I have had it come unbuckled many times, lost and found it once, and today lost it for good. Good riddance I would say only I payed $75 for it and I really do use my watch. None of the reviews mentioned something that my watch did, it turned yellowish blue. That was not from chorine as I had not gotten back to my indoor swimming before it turned color. I would not recommend this watch or any watch with this type of fastening type buckle which seems to be all Speedo makes.

I got this to help me count laps (I''m always losing track) and help with my lap times. This has been a good addition for my workout, easy to see, buttons easy to use and it''s not too bulky on my wrist. I''m still having a challenging time setting the alarm function....but I don''t really need it.

I use this watch to count laps when I swim. So far it works great! I also has 2 time zone display. After trying out for 20 minutes, I can figure out all the functions well!

Manta Ray

Manta RayThis really is an amazing piece of equipment. It holds the bar so effectively that the hands just keep it in place rather than supporting weight. So it feels very secure. And it distributes the weight forward so that there is no so much weight pressing down on the upper back/lower neck area (which I tend to strain if I''m not careful).

Unfortunately, it didn''t fit my physique exactly. And you need and exact fit for it to be comfortable. In my case there was a small ridge that pressed down very uncomfortably and sharply on my collar bone. Same with two other guys at my gym. It''s so uncomfortable, it''s unusable.

The product is so effective that I would gladly pay three times the asking price for a custom fit. The manufacturer might also look at cutting out the collar bone area since this seemed to be where the extreme discomfort was.

UPDATE. . . November 30, 2007

My last review pointed out a problem with the Manta Ray. But I have been using it for the last few months with great results. The only thing needed to make it perfect is a gym towel. Just fold a hand towel over a couple of times and place it around the neck. Then slide under the bar and up onto the Manta Ray. It completely eliminates the sharp spots.

I''ve gone from squatting 135 pounds on my last post to 315 pounds for the last couple of weeks. I went over to another gym to work out with a friend. No Manta Ray at the new gym. The bar sitting on my traps was excruciating. I stopped on my third set after two reps because it hurt so bad. The Manta Ray is as indispensable as straps are for back work. It allows you to work with significantly more weight for more reps.

Tell your gym to get this piece of equipment!!! It''s definitely worth the money if you have to spring for it yourself.

This thing is great for doing squats. The shape conforms to the neck/shoulder/trap area nicely and actually distributes the weight across your back more evenly; much moreso than those round pads or the bar alone. Very comfortable on your back so you can focus on pushing the weight. Another thing I really like about it is that once you center the pad on the bar (it pops right on and off) you know for sure your body is centered under the weight, so you''re not teetering. The plastic is flexible and soft enough so that it''s comfortable and it''s super easy to clean.

My son and I tried the Manta Ray for the first time today after purchasing from Amazon. I''ve been doing squats for over 20 years but he is a high school freshman who hasn''t yet developed sufficient trapezius muscle to protect his upper back from the effects of the weight bar. I''ve tried to make it more comfortable with commercially available wrap-around bar pads designed for squats but the results have been disappointing. I was skeptical of the Manta Ray''s claims and hesitant because of the higher price versus the alternative bar pads. Nevertheless, I decided to give the Manta Ray a try.

This simple device takes away all (and I mean all) of the discomfort caused by contact of the weight bar with that portion of the back that it rests upon.

Here is how it works. The Manta Ray has a slot into which the weight bar fits rather snugly. The Manta Ray is thereafter held securely in place on the weight bar. Upon returning the weight bar to the squat rack, the Manta Ray remains attached to the bar ready for the user''s next set of squats. The Manta Ray performs very much like a saddle in that it effectively redistributes the weight across the entire trapezius muscle rather than the very limited area upon which the bar concentrates the weight.

There is enough "play" in the Manta Ray so that, upon positioning one''s self under the bar in preparation for the exercise, it swivels and conforms to the shape of the user''s back. As another reviewer suggested, I recommend draping a small towel across the area of the back/neck not covered by a shirt to prevent any irritation from contact with the device.

At the conclusion of the routine, reach over the bar and grasp that portion of the Manta''s wings designed to fit around the user''s neck that point toward the floor. Pull upward and rotate backwards and the device will easily disconnect from the weight bar.

The alternative to the Manta Ray is one of the less expensive pads that wrap around the weight bar and is typically held in place with Velcro. However, those pads do not redistribute weight. They merely cushion some of the discomfort caused by the bar. The weight remains concentrated in that small area where the bar meets the back. Additionally, the pads lose their cushioning effect over time, can tear, and require routine replacement. The Manta Ray, by contrast, is heavy duty, extremely durable and will probably outlast the user.

You''ll be amazed at how much more comfortable squats are using the Manta Ray and the added comfort will make lifting additional weight far less daunting. It is worth every penny in my opinion and a far wiser purchase than the alternative bar pad. By the way, the device itself has a shape reminiscent of a manta ray, hence the name.

Say hello to Manta Ray and goodbye to weight bar discomfort forever. Squats will instantly become as enjoyable as any other weight training exercise.

So I hadn''t been squatting regularly for a while (ok, since college many moons ago) when I got the manta. It does make the bar sit more comfortably on your shoulders, but also raises the center of gravity a bit and makes it a little more unstable. After a few weeks of squatting regularly, my back muscles adapted and toughened up. At that point, it became just as comfortable to squeeze my shoulder blades together to create a shelf of muscle on which to rest the bar. This technique also seems to "weld" you to the bar and gives you better control over it. As a result, I haven''t been using the manta for a while.

Anything that gets you squatting is good thing as it is an unbeatable exercise for overall body strength. The manta is definitely superior to the foam pads that I''ve tried. However, if I had to do it over again, I''d save the money and just gut it out for the first few weeks until my back firmed up.

Want Manta Ray Discount?

Of course one can adapt to just about anything, and for those of you who prefer high bar squats, I think this is a great device. It''s a bit more secure than the foam pad, and is worlds better than sitting a bare bar directly on top of your spine. There are pros and cons to everything, as there are with this device.

As I mentioned, I do like the simplicity of being able to quickly secure the Manta Ray onto any Olympic bar. It''s relatively light, and easy to carry in your gym bag too, which is always a good thing. The design of this also allows the weight of the bar to be distributed over your traps, and not directly on the spine, which even with the foam pad is not recommended.

After years of powerlifting and using a "low bar" squat technique, I''ve struggled with shoulder issues, and with age also invites arthritis to join the party; especially in my wrists. Thus, working out with heavier weight can stress my elbows, shoulders and wrists much more than they used to. At least, I feel it a heck of a lot more. Therefore, I was excited to try this in the hopes of eliminating, or at least reducing some of the extra stress holding a bar lower down my back introduces.

The two techniques of high and low bar placement for squats are very different, and knowing this, I expected a learning curve. Everything is affected from the way I stand to the way my body mechanics respond to where the bar is placed. I didn''t assume I could just slap on the Manta Ray and carry on with my regular squat routine without going through a few changes in both weight and technique.

Well, the Manta Ray definitely takes the stress off the elbows, shoulders, and is not uncomfortable at all resting on my traps. The problem I have with it is the amount of teetering that goes on when I have weight on my back. This is most likely attributed to developed trap muscles, not allowing both sides of the device to secure itself soundly to my body. For me, this is something I simply cannot use when the weight starts increasing, as I''m working to stabilize the load. In addition, the high bar position forces your body to become more upright, which in my opinion, makes it that much harder to balance the weight, taking a little from the glutes and hamstrings and putting more stress on the quads and knees. As I know these versions are different, I utilize front squats to work more quads (See the excellent Sting Ray from the same company).

For lighter weight, this is fine. I''m not worried about having to stabilize much, and any rolling or teetering does not concern me. Therefore I can honestly say I have mixed feelings about this product, and only use it when I feel I absolutely have to, and still need to squat. However, this does not mean it''s an inferior device at all or that it won''t work for you. For those of you used to high bar squats, or to people that don''t obsess over having huge traps, the price alone makes it worth looking into. It''s also good for anyone with pain in their joints or muscles that would otherwise inhibit being able to do squats with an Olympic bar.

I also have the Sting Ray, and love it for front squats. It''s not perfect either, but it''s an inexpensive way to get into front squatting without putting either your wrists or shoulders through hell to enjoy the benefit of doing them.

I know ranking a review in the middle doesn''t help someone on the fence, but I don''t believe in bashing a product just because it really doesn''t work out for me. I can honestly say there''s more upside to the Manta Ray than negative, and should work fine for most conventional squatters, and even aging powerlifters needing to spell their joints every once in a while. It also implements a nice change up for people doing only low bar squats, forcing the core to pay attention to a new twist. Just be mindful of the limitations and ask yourself which squatting style you''re planning on doing first.

Good luck, and I hope my review was helpful.

Tonique 2 Fitness Workout - Sylwia Wiesenberg DVD

Tonique 2 Fitness Workout - Sylwia Wiesenberg DVDIf you don''t like repetitions, seriously, you probably want to stay away from this. I''m not the biggest fan of repetitions, however, I also wasn''t the biggest fan of my flat butt! Tonique Fitness Workouts are not easy at all, you can''t modify it and make it easy...so you have been warned. You want results (that being a toned, defined rear end), you must sweat through this. It is definately worth it, in my opinion.

The background/music aren''t great. After doing the workout a couple times, I began listening to my mp3 player. Listening to my own music seemed to make time go by faster.

This has 2 DVDs both have the same warmup. There is one workout per dvd, each is around 50 minutes. The discs contain variations/combinations of squats and lunges. You do need a pair of light weights.

I will list some of the movements just to give you an idea of each section. You will alternate legs or do movements/combos on one side then repeat again on opposite side.

The warm-up is interesting. Sylwia is wearing a leotard or swimsuit, and the movements are not what you see on any other fitness DVD with a typical "warm up". She is from Poland, maybe the warm ups are different? Ok, I am not really serious...the warm up is different, but it''s not a deal breaker! I think it makes a better cool down.

DISC 1 -

Pure Cardio 9 min Jumping Jacks, knees (alternating) to side, jogging in place turning into kicking yourself in the butt, sprint in place with high knees, and jump rope.

Cardio Sculpt (sculpt squat & lunge)18 min. *Get light weights* Squats with bicep curls, squats with leg extensions, curtsy lunges, lateral raises, lunge with kicks, squat side to side, a combination of moves ....

Cardio Squat & Lunge 16 min. *Light weights* Arm extensions, then add squat with a leg extension, squat with front kicks, pulse squats, swoosh move that I don''t really feel is necessary (I''m probably doing it incorrectly), long lunges, curtsy lunge, jump squats.

DISC 2 This disc has more combos in which you will do the moves on right side, then repeat on left.

Cardio Sculpt (sculpt squat & lunge)20 min. Kickboxing moves punches (front & side to side) and hooks, knee to chest, squat with side kick, lungesyou end up doing back, diagonal & front during this...just occuring during different combos.

Cardio Lunge 15 min. Squat jumps, side to side lunges, lunge kicks & squat kicks w/ bicep curl, single arm row, tricep extensions, lunge forward then leg extension to side with lateral raises

Lower/Upper Body Sculpt 10 min. Starts with CARDIO, *weights* Upper Body Work arm raises, arm circles, overhead presses, lateral raises, hug the tree (chest work)

Again, Sylwia does a lot of reps. Average # of reps is about 30, it feels like more...I don''t count. If you have knee problems skip this! This will give you results, you will feel the burn, your heart rate will be high through out the workout & you will SWEAT. This definately has improved my endurance in other sports, thank you Sylwia!

I highly recommend this if you are wanting to tone your toosh! This is best for those at an intermediate fitness level & higher. When you first do the workout....don''t expect to complete one workout without having to pause the DVD, or skip some reps. After you do this a few times, you will surprise yourself when you can do the whole thing =) If you are serious about fitness, you will appreciate this! Sylwia is extremely passionate about fitness & it shows. Five Stars!!!!

This is a great addition to the Original Tonique video. These videos incorporate more upper body than the original video. I own all 4 videos (Tonique, Tonique 2, and Tonique MAT). You really get results! These videos are for a those who are slightly more advanced and need a challenge. My goal was to get toned and have lean muscles but I can''t always motivate myself after work to go to the gym. With working out at home there are no excuses. I have really seen a difference, and I am definitely sticking with Sylwia. I hope she makes more videos!

This workout is tough!!! I am an avid exerciser and this workout is definitely a challenge. I added the two DVDs into my yoga routine and my pear shaped bottom is tighter and leaner. Sylwia is very cut and dry, motivating, and results oriented. You get out of this workout everything that you are willing to put in. Oh by the way there aren''t a lot of isolated ab or upper body exercises, but I definitely felt the burn and saw amazing results. Plus, sweating buckets and burning fat helps to get that six pack faster than a bunch of crunches anyway:)

I bought Tonique 2 after doing the original Tonique a few times a week for a few weeks, and have to say that these two workouts are about as tough as the original. Since another reviewer already broke down each disk/workout, I''ll just reiterate the idea that these are definitely ADVANCED workouts; while you can modify them, you will get the best results if you follow Sylwia''s pace as closely as possible.

I also want to caution anyone who has knee issues about the Tonique workouts. When I started doing Tonique 1 and 2 on a more regular basis, the tendonitis in my right knee really flared up badly. Sylwia does caution you about being careful with her workouts if you have any back or knee issues, so just be careful.

Otherwise, Sylwia is incredibly motivating, and it''s fun to hear her voice on these two workouts. (There is a voiceover on Tonique 1.) I also like how these two disks incorporate a bit more arm work than Tonique 1. While I find these two workouts to be fun and very challenging, I actually find Tonique 1 to be a bit more fun for me.

Overall, these are great workouts that will get you definite results!

Augusta Sportswear Longer Length Wicking Mesh Athletic Short, Red, XXX-LargeI ordered 4 different colors of these longer length shorts. Fitnex R40-S Recumbent Exercise Bike

Fitnex R40-S Recumbent Exercise BikeBike was easy to put together, took aprox. 1 hour to put together. Seems to be high quality materials, well made, and thankfully all holes for screws line up perfectly unlike other home assembly equipment. I would say that the online description of the bike met my expectations of the product. The seat at first is stiff moving for more than one user hoping it loosens up a bit with time.

Only complaint with this purchase was shipping purchased Dec 5th from NetRush on Amazon and was given an expected arrival date between Dec12 Dec15, I contacted NetRush on the 12th to be told it was shipping on the 13th. It actually shipped on the 15th and was delivered on the 20th, ruined my surprise since it was late and a gift. I contacted the seller twice about delivery because they did not keep me updated. I appreciated it was free shipping but would have rather paid to it on time and have it delivered at least inside the house .. they deliver to your driveway only and it''s too heavy and attached to pallet to move .. you must disassemble the contents piece by piece to be able to move it and then you have a pallet to discard of afterwards.
